1. If you are a tourist there for a few days, which is pretty much the point of Pattaya, you are totally normal if you are not patient and don't know every nook and cranny of the market and the options.

2. If you are there for a few days only the amount of money you will "waste" (or otherwise save) by negotiating perfectly is for all intents & purposes is puny.

3. Regardless of whether you are a tourist or not, you have no good reason to care whether those girls (err...*****s) are laughing at you or not.

I agree with the mentality thing, however I don't see the biz being down for the girls. Restaurants, bars, and hotels may be feeling the pinch, but guys are still dumping cash on girls. Sex industry is recession proof, in fact the demand for the better looking girls may have gone up.

After literally hundreds of times in Pattaya (coz I've lived in Thailand forever), I've come to the conclusion that I much prefer doing it with friends. Bangkok, also better to have friends along, but solo is OK. Angeles City, equally good by myself or with others. And Phnom Penh, great fun even alone, at least if you like the hostess bar scene that's it become recently.

Other people will no doubt feel differently about these, but, as I say, an interesting topic that might help a lot of guys plan their trips.

So you don't like the "real" opinions that people are expressing because it is too difficult for you to figure out what is "really" happening in Patts these days? I guess you'll have to either figure out whose mileage would be similar to yours or go to Patts and figure it out. Different people have different expectations. "Really"

i think what he was expressing is confusion about varying opinions on this board.

IMHO, again, for pure sex - ie if you are the type that likes to walk into a go-go and pick a hot chick and take her home - Pattaya is fine...ideal maybe. Especially if you like doing activities during the day. Or even if you like sitting around in beer bars smoking pipes.

If on the other hand you like a real scene with real people having fun, and are less interesting in absolutely in-your-face P4P literally everywhere, then go somewhere else.

I think that's as concise and accurate as it gets.

And about price:

1. For a quicky in a s/t bar, pay 700 to 1000

2. For a girl out of a disco, about 1000, unless a stunner, then negotiable but much higher (I was paying 2000 LT and tipping 1000, and I'm no handsome guy but have plenty of money to burn, and was getting literally the best FL girls in the discos, in case that helps).

3. For the best coyotes, 3000-ish, and that may or may not be LT.

4. For the better go-gos, 2000-ish (again, may or may not be LT).

Overall advice, if you are concerned about money then do ST, because otherwise you might get pissed if the girl is a runner. Or do LT but negotiate ST and LT rates up front. And beer bars are best for people on a budget.

For disco FL's the rate is 1000

Coyotes can be had for 1500 - 2000 LT

Some GoGo girls also look for 2000 but most will go for 1500 or less.

The prices you were quoting are even High for Bangkok, I know I used to live there.

Right now it is a buyers market as there are not many guys in town, and the girls will go for much much less.

Stop over paying them

I know plenty of guys who have paid more, guess what, they did not know as not everyone visit or check on websites what the going rates are.

One good ol' wealthy friend of mine who is a regular visitor always pays 5-10k depending on girl as he thinks 2-3k is to cheap, and often pays more if he really likes the girls. Hey, he even has bought laptops for them so that he cab stay in touch with them.

I told him once in the office bar that he was crazy, he just laughed at me and rang the bell. His comment that was whatever he did was his business only and everybody else can just jump into the lake.

Trying to dissuade one person not to overpay is futile. With the advent of new malls and expensive hotels, Pattaya prices will indeed rise further. One guy overpaying isn't gonna change the market either. The market has started to change because there are lots of guys paying the higher prices.

I am a fan of paying as low as possible, but you simple can't get a good looking freelancer in a disco for 500ST anymore. (only the old dregs will go for 500ST and say "kop kun ka" because they are grateful that someone picked them).

Here's a good example of how the Pattaya girls are becoming very spoiled. Lots of guys also hold onto a girl for a few days and take them shopping, buy them gifts, go to restaurants, etc.

Having said that, Pattaya can still be fun on the cheap, but the quality meat has moved up into a higher price bracket.

Solution=bring more money!

Only 10 minutes by taxi or scooter to Pattaya Beach - nice beach, much more laid-back than Pattaya, but close enough.

Grand Jomtien Palace is great - 1500/night for ocean-view room. Magnificent 40 metre pool - great for lap-swimming - plus two more smaller pools. Poolside massage was good at 250/hour.
