I am 90% sure I could have safely walked the 15 minutes back, but I do not like to walk anywhere at 3am in any large city and there is a tunnel under the autobahn one must pass through which would be pretty secluded. This whole area in general is very safe and next to the convention center. Westkreuz is on the O-Ring and also has a straight line to Berlin HBF (central station). I arrived at HBF from Greifswald at 9am and by 9:35am I was checking into Avus. (and this included my 10 minute walk with bags from Westkreuz station). Trains come every few minutes. This is how good the trains are in Germany / Berlin.

I was originally tempted to rent a car but now glad I did not. This just would not make sense in Berlin, nor for my trip up north. I picked up a special 45 Euro round trip ticket for the 2. 5 hour Greifswald trip. Google estimated gas cost alone for this trip to be over $120 let alone car rental fees and time needed to deal with pick up / return. General Impression:

1. Germany is not cheap. Pussy, food, hotels- everything! At HBF station it even cost. 80 Euro to take a [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140][CodeWord140][/url]. This is about $1US just to use a public toilet.

Seems like this place is getting a lot of reports lately with mixed opinion. I have been there a couple of times and enjoyed my experience.
