How this came about is not clear, but perhaps the closure of the airport in 1998, and the collapse of the Thai economy a year earlier meant that a lot of Thais came to Hong Kong and then found cheap places to live and work where the airport had been. I have to admit, I have never encountered Thai wgs there, but perhaps I just haven't been wearing the right pair of glasses. Any reliable info would be appreciated!

Mega[/QUOTE]Actually when the old airport was there (Kai Tak) there were a lot of Thai ladies working for CX. In addition there were a lot of Thai restaurants with Thai cooks, waitresses etc. As a result area around Kai Tak, To Kwa Wan and Kowloon City developed into a little Thailand.

Is Neptunes still trying to charge 150 hkd entry fee. From my experience, they do so sporadically and previous reports suggests they allow westerners in free and charge locals the entry fee.

They are like Fenwick, both always charge the locals an entry fee and let the westerner pass without paying. I had stopped going to Fenwick because of their ridiculuous entry fee and was happy to see that Fenwick had closed.
I will not shed any tears when Neptunes closes, as long as they continue this entry policy.

Im afraid that it depends who is on the door and what their policy is at that time, but you are right - "Westeners" are you call them, will generally always get in free. Others may have to pay and Im sorry to say sometimes it depends not just on race but colour.

I am westerner and have never been charged an entry fee to any of the bars in Wanchai.
Having said that I am charged if I go to one of the nightclubs or discos in the Lang Kwai Fong or SOHO areas of Hong Kong.

You paid and OK price. HKD 340 is the cheapest and it's supposed to go up by 20 or 30 HKD. Can't remember any more. I am in Pakistan till tomorrow and if you are instested I can bring over a 30s pack but that'll be just about 1500 HKD in one go. Still it works out as half price per pill (which I normally half anyway) and about a year of expiry date date you always get. let me know if you are interested. I go to the airport tomorrow at lunch time.

I had a short stay over in Hong Kong, and after reading the forums was surprised at just how easy it is to monger (reading is one thing, living it another...)
Before I dive in, the filter is turning many of the references to a website into asteriks. the website is s e x 1 4 1 . c o m, but normal, you know, with no embedded spaces. If you see ******, just replace it.

All-in-all, I really liked the vibes in Amazonia, and the next time I go to Hong Kong, I might stay closer to Wan Chai to make ST/LT painlessly easy.
There was a lot of sleaze in Wan Chai (strip clubs with touts down Lockhart Street), but also a lot of fun.
