However, unless you are talking about a currency other than $USD or I have missed some shocking new income requirement, perhaps targeting Pattaya expats in particular, your numbers on the topic of expat/retirement income visa requirements are wildly inaccurate.

And they all record just about everything of Pattaya day and nightlife. Among them are vloggers who try to make a living from their footage. I'm pretty sure I appear on a number of photos / videos as I noticed at least three blokes pointing their smartphones intentional or unintentional at us during that night.
Soi 6 is worth a visit late afternoon or early evening. You might try the 'spank walk' along Soi 6 where you will be dragged by the girls or spanked with anything varying from inflatable plastic hammers to foam tubes. I recently visited Pattaya for 2 nights only and it was my first time.
I have to say it will be the one and only visit for me and you have perfectly set out why that will be. There are much more relaxed other options around Thailand. I found Walking Street unpleasant. I would genuinely have been nervous taking a girl from a bar as you are almost certain to be filmed somewhere by someone.
Soi 6 was far better fun for me. I didn't spend enough time doing the Beach road walk having read your post. Lovely story about the great and sensitive girl you found. That was a find.
I ended up using the soapies instead and I have to say the collection of 4 of them close to one another was excellent. All had very nice options but of course you don't get to talk to the girl and build any sort of connection before the fun. But I found the standard of ladies available much higher than in gogos or pool bars. It's more expensive but then perhaps that reflects the higher quality. I just didn't want to spend hours seeking out one stunner in 1000 bars.
I'm afraid for me, and of course we all differ in our tastes (which is good), the ability to go to a great beach, and the far more relaxed areas in say Koh Samui, and even Phuket (outside of Patong Beach) are better options than Pattaya. Walking street would be a last resort for me and only if the soapies were not open!
Didn't know about the expat restrictions and if they come to fruition in a more structured way I agree it will kill the resort.

In my experiences jealousy and problems are often due to customers' attitudes towards girls, many guys looking alot for GFE and spend alot of time with the girl therefore the girl thinks she has found a possible sponsor. Let your girls know that you are a butterfly and save jealousy problem. I remember that years ago at the stalls there were t-shirts with the writing "find, fuck, forget" one of the best rule in Pattaya. LOL.

If you are too worried about this Pattaya is probably not the place for you. Anyway for avoid to be caught on a video with your conquest just order a girl with Thaifriendly, tinder, badoo, wechat, etc give her your hotel address and room number and she will come straight to your room.

My example applied to a Non-Immigrant Visa Category "O-X" (long stay). This type of visa applies to applicants aged 50+ to stay in Thailand for a period of maximum 10 year (aka retirement visa). There are lots of other visas. Perhaps you refer to a "O-A" (1 year stay) visa for 50+ applicants? These apply to the financial data you mentioned.
A 50+ retiree applies for a different visa than a 20+ digital nomad. Both have their own challenges. If this forum allows it, the link should be visible below. If not go to thaiembdc dot org, choose your country of origin and look for the "O-X" or "O-A" visa.

Banana Boi: Losing face is a complex social construct in Asia and greatly differs country to country, from city to city and even from bar to bar. I witnessed a catfight between two girls on Soi 6 and when I asked what started the fight they told me that it was about a customer that dumped one girl in favor of another (probably in a rude way). But I agree there is not much difference anymore between losing money and losing face for a bar girl. There are a lot rude westerners around in Pattaya. They are not, what I would call, a representation of the western guy that most Thai girls admire.
PayForIt: Thanks for your comments and additions. But even Koh Samui now has webcams that run 24/7. Just google for "The real Samui webcam".

When hundreds of thousands visitors are visiting Pattaya every year, the chances that there are creeps with cameras around is 100%. But it will become an interesting situation in the future, all those millions of hours of video that potentially contain a faux-pas of anyone that ever visited Pattaya, being in the hands of less than a handful tech companies.

I think the 2 guys who live in Pattaya, Mr. E and I, both say there is no such thing as losing face in Pattaya. Interested on LittleBigMan's and other expats in Pattaya thoughts on this. I was told all about losing face before I came to Thailand the first time. Didn't take me long at all to figure out there is no such thing. Sure there can be fights between girls over customers but trust me it has zero chance that it's a result of losing face rather than losing cash. It's akin to 2 strippers in an American strip club who fight because a regular customer of a girl got a lap dance from a second girl. I never read about losing face in American sex forums. The fight was about the $400 USD girl 1 lost and certainly not about losing face.
I have never used any online sites to meet girls. I see absolutely no reason to use them in Thailand when there are girls everywhere. Like yourself I need to see and talk to the girl in person too.

I took you up on it, went, and I preferred it to Bangkok and Pattaya though I had a fabulous night in pool bar Hilary on Soi 4 in BKK and after it. Back to Pattaya. I couldn't start to tell you the names of the all the gogos I tried in WS but I'the suggest 60% of them! I'm admittedly very picky. I also realised this trip that gogo bars are not really for me. If I am picking out of LU without any real discussion or chemistry but just looks I prefer the soapies. The best gogo for me was the one with the Russian girls inside and out. Perhaps that just reflects my taste in looks. But the 2 girls I talked to in their were very cold. Very much like the type in FKKs whose first question is "do you want to take me to the room? (I know you are a fan of the FKKs like me). I will confess to this. Even as a seasoned monger in many jurisdictions across the World you really need to "warm" to WS and I just didn't. Too much of a circus for me. I also did not like mongering whilst families and children were walking the street (what are their parents thinking? I have no doubt the Soi 6 cameras were out. But it just felt far less bling and hurried to me. More like old world BKK and even a bit Soi Cowboy like. I think if I had 7 nights in WS I'the get to know some girls and would relax more. But I know I'll never get to that as I prefer other locations. I thought the Soapie options were really very good. I found it hard to pick because of good quality and I repeat I'm picky and for example have struggles in Annies before now in BKK. Not so in Patt. I didn't love the area around Soi 6 but the street itself was fine. I stayed at Royal Cliff Beach. Lovely 5 star and only 200 by moped but wait for it - 650 bhat per guest and they lock the side entrance so you do have to take the girl to reception. Good for security but a cost to factor in. Perhaps this also helped me prefer the soapies. I fully accept you don't go to Patt for the beach but I thought generally the area was quite run down. No more so than Soi 2 /4 BKK I suppose but it all felt a bit cheap / tacky to me. Sorry but just my 2 cents. Maybe I built it up too much in my mind. The Soapie options were excellent, full, reasonable and with good options for my liking.

I have never met anyone with an O-X visa since it seems only designed to require a much higher outlay of money (3 million baht in a Thai bank account instead of 800,000, for starters) in exchange for the minor convenience of not needing to spend a few hours for one day in Immigration to renew it each year. Apparently it must be renewed every 5 years for a maximum of 10 years? Unclear to me without researching any deeper.
Thankfully, the O-X visa is not required of anyone wanting to retire in Thailand that I am aware.
I'm on my second O-A Non-Immigrant Visa. I showed the embassy back home that I was getting pension, no need to deposit money in a Thai Bank. Sadly, this will be my last O-A. There a new Health Insurance requirement for retirement Visas. These insurance, do NOT cover per-existing conditions, (of course,) so it; s totally useless to me. The also want the full 12 month premium paid in full, which is anywhere from ฿24 k to ฿94 k+ I'll be going back to the 6 month multiple entry tourist visa when I return.

I've found Thailand one of the most intense or deep in loss of face as I've seen anywhere I've been on a personal level I came within an inch of losing my life due to loss of face and experience a number of incident with bar girls. In my hay day a few years back it was like I was working on a Master's degree the " loss of face " comes in many forms many you don't see like fighting but it is there so many it goes unnoticed daily.
But at the same time, I would agree it is my personality or how I come across to the girls. That might be the reason you and Mr. E, doesn't feel it exist? Being a butterfly or them knowing exactly what you are modes them as to how they come across. Yes in our this conversation we are talking about the loss of money first but if they feel a long term goal is being taken you might see a fight I've seen a number.
I hear this sister stuff a lot here but my generalization Thais don't have friends especially long term ones. Nearly in each case one day they are tight as a lesbian the next they are gone you never get a full explanation they don't like confrontation so backstabbing is their main weapon. Loss of face sadly it exists if you don't see it consider yourself doing things right.
