My first trip in Phuket is coming up next month & I have been reading the posts here.
Thanks in advance to the experts who have presented a bird's eye view of the place.
I have booked a car (self-drive) for the week that I am staying in Phuket. Is that a good idea for a person who is coming there for the first time (I can't drive 2-wheelers).
Hows the weather currently in Phuket.
I have booked a Hotel in the Patong region. How far is that from the airport?

You will have to find a parking place everytime you decide to stop soemwhere. If you take some strolls, at some point you need to go back to your car, maybe "far away". With a taxi any place is an ending or starting point to go elsewhere.
Not to mention, in case you go for some more beers, hos iw your capacity to handle a steering wheel after that. This is entirely to your knowldge of course.But the parking situation will be a common knowledge and I think the other will comment.

Renting a car will allow you to get around and really see the island and its many beautiful beaches as opposed to being in only one place. The coastal road is no problem to drive. The scenery is great and there is not much traffic at all. I found convenient parking at all the beaches I cared to visit. Take it slow on the road and enjoy yourself.
I rented from Hertz at the Airport (advance booking). The ride from the Airport to Patong is pretty straight forward. The drive takes around 40 minutes. The road signs are in English and Thai. You can't miss the turn off to Patong. It takes you right to the northern end of the town and the beach. There are 2 main north south roads in Patong. The beach road going north is Thawewong and one block east the road going south is Ratuthit. Bangla is an east west street you will easily find.
I was in Phuket with my favorite Bangkok Go Go girl in March. I would have rented a motor cycle if I was solo, but the rented car worked out real well for the two of us. We went to a different beach every day, had lunch there and frolicked in the ocean. Our favorite beaches were Kamala, Surin, Kata Noi and Nai Harn. Patong Beach and Kata Beach were too crowded to suit my taste. We spent our evenings in Patong having dinner, barhopping, and boom booming. We did not use the car at night.
Returning the car was really easy. I called the Hertz cell # given to me when I initially picked up the car as I entered the airport and a Hertz representative was waiting in front of the airport to take the car off my hands. I gave him the keys, unloaded my suitcase, and walked into the terminal free and clear.

If you are going to take a pretty girl with you, you should consider some other spots like Krabi, Lanta, Phi Phi, Koh Tao, Koh Lipe in the future. I have taken girls to these type of exotic locations with great snorkelling opportunities, as an example. More beautiful scenery than Phuket. For me Phuket is more of a mongering destination, or too crowded with tourists. Just an idea. I am a bit bored with Phuket, especially Patong. But okay for mongering if you have no girl with you already.
Samui is even more boring for me.

I originally planned to go to Phuket solo to do a little additional mongering after a short stay in Pattaya and as added benefit enjoy the beaches during the day. I was last in Phuket in '89 with my American fiancé at the time.
Once in BKK, 'M' and I were getting on so well that I asked her to come along, but she declined. She is definitely not a beach girl. She can't swim, fears drowning in the ocean, and loathes the idea of sunbathing because it may darken her skin a tad. But she is a women and on the day I arrived in Phuket, after spending 4 nights in Pattaya, as I was just driving into Patong, she calls me on my cell: 'Maaak (Mark) , I miss you so much. Can I come with you Phuket? ' I told her where I was and I would call her after I found my hotel. Thirty minutes later after I checked in, we are talking and she tells me she really wants to come down. I tell her that's great, but I don't know about the availability of an airline ticket at this late date. It is 4pm. Searching the internet; I find a seat on the 8pm Bangkok Air flight. I book it and tell 'M' she must be at Swampy by 6:45. Can she do it? 'Yes darling, ' she says and at 7pm I receive a text from her, 'I am at airport. See you soon. ' I am 90% excited about this unexpected turn of events and 10% disappointed that I won't have the opportunity to sample some Phuket girls on this trip. I go out and barhop a little and wait her arrival. At 10:45 she calls:' I am at Phuket airport. ' I tell her to take a taxi to my hotel. At 11:30pm she arrives and the rest is history.
We had a great time once she became confident of me in the water and after I turned her on to my 70SPF Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Sunblock Lotion with Helioplex. She was familiar with the Neutrogena label. It was great playing with her in the sea. She would hold on to me tight as I took her out to the 5 feet depth. The water was smooth as glass. Little fishes swam around our feet. I could easily pick her up and put her on her back and let her float with my assistance. She became very relaxed and trusting in my arms and all smiles.
At night we ate at one of those open air sea food restaurants, Sakorn no49, and then we barhopped. My favorite bar off Bangla was Suzie Wong's. It is a small bar, but they put on a great show and the girls were the most attractive dancers that I saw in Bangla. The Suzie Wong girls were very friendly and sexy. I was getting a lot of suggestive looks if you know what I mean. I am pretty sure they were up for a ménage. I couldn't help thinking about what I was missing, but 'M' is a very conservative 'good girl' and I know for a fact that she would never swing 3 way. I never regretted bringing her down however, because after barhopping we would walk back to the hotel and have some of the best sessions of my entire 6 week trip. In the end, she flew back to BKK and I flew to Kuala Lumpur at 10am. From KL, I travelled on to AC, Subic, and Macau before I returned to BKK about 3 weeks later. 'M' I and I had some more great times in BKK. We are now talking about our next trip together. Phuket was like a trial balloon for me to see if I could have a worthwhile extended time with this girl and not get bored or suffer any relationship problems."M" passed the test with flying colors. Now, I want to take her to Koh Lanta or Koh Lipe and she is up for it. The journey continues.

Once they get used to wearing a life jacket and have calm water, and you looking after them its amazing how quickly they get used it and get more adventurous. Sun Tan and Sun burn are then the biggest problems.
Too much waves and I find they certainly don't like it, although staying on the rocking boat moored for snorkelling is worse for sea sickness.
I have just returned home after 10 days in Phuker and I can concur with a number of reports preceding this, that the working girls in Phuket provide, by far, the least value for money.
Mo of the young ones are good to look at but are scheming leeches who endeavour to suck every last baht out of the besotten monger, while providing the minimum service that she can get away with.
While this bodes well for their "business acumen", it should act as a warning and a "turn-off' for the "value for money" seeking monger, who, while looking for a good time does not want to get ripped off on the pretext of false pretences. Which is exactly what these girls excel at.
As for the Russians in this part of the world, forget it. If you have the money to be able to afford these expensive pussies, I suggest you go to Russia and get the real thing. Because am sure that Russian pussy in Phuket will not cost you anything less than in Russia, after you aldd up all the incidentals like ladies drinks barfines and tips.
Frget Phuket for mongering, guys; it is a great destination for a family holiday with plenty to see and do.

I will be in Patong for the first time in few days and would like to know any hotel name for ST. Knowing that my hotel will be away from Patong, it is easy to pick up a lady and go 1 or 2 hours in an hotel?
What would be the rate of the hotel per hour? I guess these hotels are friendly.
The most interesting places are still the same? Have read about Suzie, Disco, Tiger, Khaterine.

A ST hotel has to be a GF one, by definitiom, otehrwise it is not a ST hotel. Thailand ST hotels are mainly just for that, not other guests are in. All go there for the same purpose.
