I've been out of the scene for a long time.

Can anyone give me info on ST / LT within the region of 500k.

Dear Bro..
Jakarta is what you as an individual make it. This place is far from Boring, the variety matches anything you can find in Thailand or other such places.

This forum has commented on all sorts of events, girl types, and even fetishes, look back in the archive and see that there are lots of examples of a good Buzz in whatever line takes your fancy.

Jakarta lost its buzz....no way man, get out and observe.

Hmmm... I'm wondering whether it's in reference to the thread or the city. Wrt the former, I'd have to agree - but probably due to post lebaran syndrome as oppose to pre lebaran syndrome. As for the latter, I cant say as I'm suffering from LOJS - lack of Jakarta syndrome (considered to be extremely serious and debilitating). Btw, is anyone here still on Faceparty?

I refer to the city and I'm inclined to the belief that the comparative slowness on this thread and other forums rather confirms my view that for whatever reason the old sparkle that made Jakarta special seems to have died, it's not just Ramadhan, that's long over, but there still seems to be a real lethargy in the air with a feeling of same old same old and no new fresh faces.

As is pointed out below there's no shortage of action in the Massage Parlours but sure you could get that anywhere, that's not what made Jakarta different. It was the thrill of meeting girls at all the oddest times in all the weirdest locations and having an amazing session all before lunch time. Of scoring on the Busway, in the shopping mall, in the queue at the bank, that sort of thing.

Even the girls in the bars at night were different from the types you'd meet elsewhere in the world, now they seem like the same cloned, bored professionals you could pick up in any similar bar in any similar city anywhere in the world.

Maybe it's just me getting blase, maybe it's a sign of progress as Jakarta moves on from being the gloriously oversized village it used to be to become just another anodyne SE Asian city, no different from Singapore or KL, just a little bit cheaper.

I hope I'm wrong and the old magic will come back soon but right now I'm at a loss to know where to look for it.

I'm heading back to the city of sin from 12nov for three weeks and have rented a top floor apartment at Sudirman Park, can you guys let me know of any good pick up spots around there apart from the obvious Bats. I have around 20 chics lined up off Dating sites wich I put to good use every time I'm there but still like a bit of spur of the moment action, not really into paying for it as hell you don't really need to in Jakrta right! I thought only guys from Saudi and Nigeria did that. I don't believe they limit it to civilians though. I think women in the military are on the cards as well if they are game.

I'm pretty sure Dorman doesn't resort to those kind of things. He's too much of a gentleman. His previous story of how he helped out that pregnant girl who had been ditched by her ojek/bajaj driver boyfriend was heart warming. :)

I'm with Dorman though. I think the luster Jakarta once had has been lost. I believe the internet has had alot to do with that. Sex tourists were rarely seen in Jakarta 10 years ago, so the girls were much more innocent. Now the sex tourists are rampant and Jakarta is just like any of the other cities in southeast asia. The girls are much more hard core than they were back in the good ole days. I'm in Bangkok this week and I'm actually finding the girls working soi cowboy to be sweeter and better gfe than the girls at bats or blok m. It used to be just the opposite.

I do agree that bro Dorman is a gentleman, and I think that bro JAD did not direct it towards him.

But on the other hand, Jakarta is becoming more hard core, I have to disagree with that, maybe in ten more years Jakarta will be like BKK; don't get wrong it is getting that way now but not as bad as BKK, not yet anyway.

Maybe "familiarity breeds contempt"? As you know I think, although I am a long term Jakarta fan, it's based on regular visits of a week or so at a time with the odd trip of a few months rather than, like you an (enviable) "lifer"

I just returned to UK from a 2 night visit and I have to say I found it just as good as any other trip. I've yet to report, but in summary, I picked an excellent girl up at the airport on arrival (who was "waiting for her boyfriend") and took her back to my hotel, I "found" several girls in Atrium though didn't take one, I spent time with my girlfriend, was busy at work as well and then picked another girl up at the airport on leaving. I had actually arrived at Bandara early as I planned to get a "massage" but I found the girl first and booked a short term room at the airport hotel. Anyone could do it obviously.

I think one key point - confirmed by another notable long-stay contributor - is that if you visit as I do you get, of necessity, very focused on packing in as much action as possible and your energy levels and maybe even your perception level increases accordingly.

No offence obviously - but do you think you've just got a little bit complacent? I live in a city with a big chocolate factory and everyone I know who works there has no interest in chocolate even though they can get as much as they want....

That's a very fair point, maybe I am just getting jaded after five years of it, no bad thing I suppose if that is the case and I dare say I would feel very differently if I was only seeing Jakarta on much anticipated flying visits.

You still hang out around Tiga Puluh though don't you Bulai? I'm sure you must have noticed a bit of a change there, when I first came 30 was up there along with CJ's and BATS as really fun, enjoyable clubs. Slightly more expensive than Blok M but nonetheless the same sense of unforced fun.

I have visited each of these places in recent months and found them to be soulless and rather bleak places now. They don't even start getting busy until nearly midnight and the girls hanging around seem to be a rather bored and sullen lot. The old "GFE" as posters here describe it, the (yes I know completely imaginary) sense of regular girls just out for a bit of fun and maybe a little bit of spare cash on the side seems to have gone to be replaced by a more commercial, professional routine.

I miss the "pick-ups" (no I never had to promise marriage, the pick-ups refer to me being picked up by the girls), where a girl might wish to discuss, oh I don't know, directions to Mangga Dua, a business proposition, English lessons, pose for a photo please mister, whatever, and a coffee and a chat later it's off to the local cheap hotel for a two hour afternooner. All innocent, all great fun, and what Jakarta used to do so well.

Clearly my problem is that the action has now moved on to the airport lobby, now where's my passport ;-)
