Old HK currency still valid?
Hey guys, I have not been to HK in about 8-9 years and plan to return for a several days visit.
Problem is I heard the HK currency had change recently and I still have over several hundred older HK bills -I think they were issued by the Shanghai bank(about $100 US worth).
Just like to know if I can still use these older bills when I arrive in HK or are these now worthless?
Thanks

Holiday Inn at Tsim Sha Zui
I got a room at Holiday Inn through a contact while my family and myself checked in at another place further down on Nathan. The place was full of Indians, most of them from the Bengal (but not Bengalis. originally from Rajasthan in the West).
I walked up Mody to Carnavon and got a massage at the place with no sign, just a short woman in front. She shows you to elevator, but I just took the stairs in back, quicker. A plump WG and a taller slim masseuse. I took the slim one. Got her cell #.
Late that night, I went to my room in Holiday to call her. Saw a very distinguished white haired Caucasian with glasses and closed cropped beard. Recognized him from his pictures. He was with an OK looking lady who had a young girl obviously her daughter, perhaps 7 yr old. Rode to 18th floor with them. Lady chatted with him in English. Like his Significant other. I chatted with the young girl. She didn't understand English or Mandarin. Only Cantonese. She said she was used to being up at this hour. Walked up the stairs to 19th then back to listen a few minutes at their door. Child WG. None of my business. But the thought crossed my mind of calling the authorities and savoring the headlines.

I'd be interested in a Sauna recommendation in HK
Hi BSD,
I think you need a China visa for Chanping, and mine just expired. I'd appreciate a Macau like sauna recommendation in HK.
Thanks, BR
[QUOTE=Big Swingin Dave]Globe Spinner,
Will you be in HK or Kowloon side? I suggest you stay at a Sauna for overnight. For the cost of even the cheapest hotel, you can stay a fabulous night in a Sauna with massage service, food and drinks. Let me know if you decide to do that and I will make a recommendation for you. Also, come to Chanping (read the Dongguan thread) next time for mongering fun. Cheap and fun. Much better than HK or Macau.
