The lockdown is real. I just tried to take my LT from last night home to Khao Talo and they had it blocked off with concrete barriers at the railroad tracks. She walked across and a motorbike taxi picked her up on the other side.
In consistence with the Land of Stupidity!
After near 20 hours on the road driving up to the country and returning back with the family this morning, I needed a power nap, I woke up at 2 pm and got a call from my brother filling me in on what happened earlier but let's save that for later.
Needing some fresh air I told the wife going out on the bike to cruise and buy some water filters to see for myself first hand these so-call checkpoints. Since I'm on the Darkside I needed to start at the first point, since my filter store is down that way. As I got closer to Sukhumvit I was thinking where is all the traffic as I got closer I could see the checkpoint tent slow down abandon empty no one in sight. Got to Sukhumvit made my left continue south to Soi Siam Country made a left to checkpoint Two, tent abandon no one in sight! Now I was back on the Darkside, using road I called " The railroad Tracks " which is parallel to Sukhumvit on Nernpludwan barriers all gone allowing vehicles to get to Sukhumvit and then enter Pattaya Klang, Khao Noi, same barriers all gone, now Khao Talo, this is Mr. E. photo barriers all gone!
No point in going further to checkpoint 5, Not surprise someone must have said this is stupid Governor! Will do a follow-up tomorrow since my coffee shop is at checkpoint #2.
Now my brother's story!
My cousin original flight was scheduled for March 25th, it got canceled and rescheduled for today the 10th of April, he tried Eva all last week to confirm whether he was going today but all they had was a recording. On the 8th of April, he received an email confirmation from EVA that his flight schedule and confirm back to San Francisco for the 10th, leaving at 12:20 pm. My brother decided to drive him to the airport, with all the restrictions he arms himself with house book, passport, etc. Pick him up at 8 am after he checked out of his resort. Once at the airport dropped him off, at Gate 8, which was open a good sign my brother continue back on Hwy 7, back to Pattaya just as he got past the toll booth cousin called and said they fuck up that there was no flight to San Francisco and reschedule him again for May 5th?
The email was never supposed to have been sent out his 60 day Visa expires on the 12th of April since he arrived before March 1st now must report to Immigration to obtain another 30 days!

The prime minister signed that all foreigners whose visa was to expire March 26 or after gets automatic extension until April 30. Sucks for me because I went on April 2 and paid 1900 baht for my extension.

These guys are a work of art at times! Ten years ago they build a new road parallel to the trains tracks, today you see 2 lanes in each direction when it was built it was 1 lane each direction it didn't make sense since people were turning the wrong way and driving down the wrong side. Then they decided to put in signal lights at all the intersections at a cost of 50 million baht, the first day they turn it on, traffic was at a standstill backed up for hours, then again when the tunnel on Sukhumvit was being built they came up with all these hair brain ideas how to divert traffic. Sadly I've seen Chinese fire drills glad I wasn't around last night!

Depending upon what happens (and remember that a lot has happened in the last 3 weeks or so) either they will move the date to later or or they won't and going to immigration will be a valid reason for entry into fortress Pattaya.

His reschedule flight is for May 5th, said he was planning to pay any fine if requested at Immigration when leaving that was prior to receiving a phone call from the Station manager of Eva at the airport apologizing for the mistake sending out a false confirmation of the departure on the day he departs the manager will make sure of his check-in and assist him through immigration to ensure there are no problems if they don't move back the date again? I guess when you don't travel the economy class route you are entitle to some special treatment?
Thanks I will let him know.
Well she ended up standing me up. When I called her at 2:30 she garbled something I couldn't possibly understand. She still sounded like she wanted to come but what more could I say to have her actually come? I had answered "yes" to all her requisites already.
Those girls are not right in the head. Must be lead poisoning.
I'll stick to Thaifriendly for new recruits. Quality not far above Beach Road but less brain-damaged.
Forget about this girl. They are not retards, they are hookers. They play a game, just like we punters do. You can't trust most of these working girls. If you stay in Pattaya longer time get many girls numbers on your phone and chase multiple girls on a given day. One will come to you for a fuck eventually.
Many agogo girls I have taken to hotel say "Yes, I want to go to the beach with you tomorrow. Or to Koh Larn" So I send a message to them. At 12.00, 13.00, 14.00 etc. No answer. I get frustrated and go the destination alone. After I get back from my trip at 18.00-19.00 I get a message from these girls "I just woke up. You come to bar tonight?" This has happened so many times. Only a few agogo bar girls, which I have managed to lure them to my hotel room in the afternoon for a bonk.

If you go to the market at 1700 you will see them in their pajamas coming to get food, having just waken up. It will NEVER work out the way you are trying to do things. If you want them to go to the beach with you the next day then you need to have them stay with you the night before.
The girl that I am with now went to sleep (2300) hours before I did (0300) last night. She has received plenty of messages since. It is now 1000. You think she has awaken to see that shit? No. And we planned to go to the beach today as well. I had her bring her things when she came last night. You just have to tweak your strategy.
This makes zero sense. There are no new people in Pattaya. The few people that are here now have been here for some time. And besides that, most of them are not driving cars and motorbikes. They are walking and taking baht buses.
The virtue-signalling is getting oppressive. You get looked askance if not wearing a mask, even in situations where having a mask on is just plain dumb. There is a spiel with heat guns at entrances. How many of those toys ever detected a single positive?. They should get their act in order with the sanitiser gels instead. Many gels are fake. The smells of ethanol or rubbing alcohol are unmistakable at the concentrations needed. Those gels only smell nice and make your hands sticky.
Yesterday an asshole (not Thai) took me to task in the elevator. He bursted out "ever heard of Corona!?", pointing at the zombie mask plastered over his ugly face. Moron!
The holier-than-you-you're-infecting-me attitude goes up a notch with every day that goes by.
]I will just offer the following true story from west coast, Santa Clara, California. My wife is a physician and is currently treating patients that are positive with Wuhan Communist China Covid Virus. She deals with the hot floor at a very large hospital in Santa Clara Valley. We had not been out to shop in about ten days and went early to Costco. We are both wearing masks, I was wearing some leather driving gloves for the hell of it. We are maintaining six feet spacing as are 95% of the people in line to get into the store. But not the guy lined up behind us. He was all over our world. Not that I minded, I did not think he was going to give me a damn thing. But the smarmy smiling face guy is looking at both of us assuredly as if none of this is necessary. Big stupid smile and standing within an easy arms reach of either my wife or myself. I wonder what this asshole would have done had I told him is that he had joined the space of a physician that had been on a Covid hot floor the evening before? We were doing our part to protect those around us. This guy could give a shit and made some interesting assumptions. You might want to consider that we might be trying to protect you from us. Just sayin. (fwiw, Google "santa clara county covid") her battleground.

They are trying and mean well just grasping for straws like everything they say and do things so the people think they care for them. The reason at one of the old checkpoint where I have coffee they were waiting for the truck to pick up the old tent and move it I guess to Pattaya Klang? I heard one of the soldiers talking to the girl who makes my coffee from their research majority of the vehicle's backup comes for people needing to get to Rayong and Sattahip? The reason they are moving the checkpoints West of Sukhumvit?
Believe or not there are just too many people and movement of the citizen on the Darkside to contain? I'm more worried about water these days than the Virus!

Finally some control to prevent the multiplication of soi dogs!
... I'm more worried about water these days than the Virus!
Maybe the lockdown is a blessing in disguise for Pattaya. Imagine Pattaya bursting to the seams with people and the extra spilling of water during Songkran.
Thunder far away today over Pattaya but no rain.
-
Thunder far away today over Pattaya but no rain.
Which was some bullshit. Out of all the days I picked to go to the beach. We went to Jomtien and just finished eating on the beach. I was about to go get into the water when the thunder and lightning started moving in. We packed up and left. Now we are inside looking at TV and it is still sunny and hot as ever out.

Next time different tactic.
