Manchies-you can also get all of the cocaine you want also
There is something not right about that place. I do think there is a lot of drug dealing going on there, plus as bad as the Italians behave at times, the Israeli's are worse.
And if what I saw of the Israeli's in CTG in September, the young people, if they are typical of Israel today, then israel is doomed, what a bunch of slobs. No wonder Iran is pushing the envelope, not that American youth is much better.
Sept. Cartagena Trip Report (Cont.)
Evening 2: Invited a couple of non-pro amigas over to enjoy a few shots of the Patron I brought with me from the duty-free shop at MIA. We then to dinner in the Old City I enjoy their company and with their English skills the conversation is more lively and fluid. Also, with there being a definite class recognition going-on in Cartagena, we are not subject to the certain looks, etc. , that one might receive when patronizing the better establishments in the city with an Estrato 1 or 2 girl on his arm.
They want to try the Cubano restaurant that is 30 yards or so down the street from Plaza de Santo Domingo. We enter and are seated and I notice that there aren't really any other patrons in the establishment. The only people at sitting at a table appear to be either employees or family of the owner.
I pick-up a definite chill in the air; something just doesn't seem right. No one is smiling in this place. The staff isn't giving me a good vibe. Two of us order a beer a piece, which is 4 mil pesos on the menu. We continue to look over the menu and I feel odd sitting there with the staff and the other table glaring at us.
I tell my amigas that we better confirm that they accept Mastercard before we order (I had enough pesos with me, but with my ATM problem related to not remembering PIN still unresolved, I figured I better conserve those). The waitress indicates that they do not accept MC, only Visa. No problem, I apologize, but we'll have to eat somewhere else. I'd like to pay for the two beers and leave. I give the waitress a 20 mil bill to pay for the tab and request change please.
The waitress brings back 10 mil change in the billfold holder. I indicate that there is a shortage. With the two beers being 4 mil each, I expected more. Our conversation is not going well. The waitress is not making me feel warm and fuzzy, but I insist (in my non-fluent Spanish) that I expect to receive more change and by the way, where is my ticket that shows the total charge for the two beers. This has turned into a small "scene" now, with my persistence and the waitresses refusal to oblige.
Finally, the guy from behind the counter/bar brings my ticket along with a 1 mil peso bill. I look at the ticket and it totals 8, 800 pesos, with a 10% service charge being added, but no IVA. Well, after what just took place, I of course don't feel like they deserve an 800 peso tip and the extra 200 peso shortage, but sometimes you even have to let the principal of the matter go----so I did. I just gave 'them a sly wink to let them know that I didn't appreciate their attempt at the extra self-tip.
Am I worried about 1, 200 pesos. Am I a tightwad? No, but this place gave me bad vibes from the start and I'm not overly fond of people blatantly trying to extract extra money from me because I'm a non-native. At least have a little polish with your game and a smile if you're going to do that.
Well, we end-up at Paco's after confirming that they accept MC. By now I'm a little edgy, but still ready for an enjoyable dinner and a night out on the town with some wonderful amigas. Of course I'd appreciate it if the two guys standing in the Plaza would turn around and not stare at us through the open air window. The vendors are now coming-up to the open air window, but I deftly handle them with a no gracias. The lady selling flowers does not heed my no gracias, not my second, nor my third. She just knows that I want flowers for my two beautiful amigas----wrong! I have to take it a step further than "no gracias" and that does the trick.
Now I expect this when I'm dining out in the Plaza, but my preference is to do without the vendors coming up to the open air window since we are inside of the restaurant. I can usually have fun with them, but after my chilly experience at the Cubano restaurant, I'd just really like to have an enjoyable private dinner with my two amigas. I know, I know. What am I doing at a restaurant in Plaza de Santo Domingo if those were my desires, LOL.
We enjoy drinks/beers, an appetizer and dinner for three, with the total coming to around $60. $70 USD. While everything was good, I can't give it a glowing report. I've had much better in Cartagena for the same price or less.
After dinner we head to a small bar down the street from the Plaza. The bar is called Via Apia Tapas. It's Karoke night, with a stunner sponsering Jose Cuervo giving away a couple of bottles of Tequila. We enjoy a bottle of Tequila (buy the whole bottle, way cheaper than paying for shots, even if you only drink half the bottle) and have some fun with the crowd. Of course, in the back of my mind, I sure would like a GF for the night.
I come-up with a reason that I need to get home for some rest and head back to mi apartamento en Laguito. It's somewhere close to 3 or after, so I call a girl I had met on my trip in July. She answers and sounds excited that I called. And she's coming over. Yes!
She shows-up in 15-20 minutes. Hmmmm, did LDV just close, LOL. Wow, she looks damn good. What a freakin' body this chica has. When I met her in July, she was dressed very plainly, actually kind of homely. When I got her back to my place and out of her clothes in July, she had what I call a "surprise body". In a very good way. She's a hard body with a great ass. Chica either works out or received a fantastic gift from God.
Now two months later, she's not dressed so plainly, in fact she's had her hair done-up, is wearing new clothes and shoes that are most definately from a better store than she'd shopped at before, etc. Everything about her said "I've come into some money", LOL. Hmmmm, new gringo boyfriend who frequents Western Union? LOL
Well, we enjoy the night together. She has a great personality, great body and is fun in bed. After pleasuring each other with much foreplay and covered BJ and dental jam DATY (LOL), we explore several different of my favorite positions. After reaching full satisfaction, the sun has now come out and the tequila has taken its toll. I crank-up the air and the fan, she gets under the cover and curls up next to me.
We awake several hours later around 11 and enjoy some fun in the shower together. She needs to go (has a daughter). After she gets dressed and is heading out the door, I hand her 135 mil pesos folded-up. She doesn't count it, just puts it in her purse, gives me a kiss with a smile and heads out the door.
Damn that was great. But I tell myself, don't go there. She's not your future wife. In fact you need to drink some coffee and get some breakfast to re-charge so you can go hunthing this afternoon, LOL.
Well I'll have to do the Day 3 report later. Time to get some work done.
