Firstly, Chinese tend to play with other Chinese. They think the dark Thais and Filipinas are beneath them and they just arent attracted to them. Taiwanese are happy with Filipinas but not mainland Chinese.

Second, they know Pattaya and Bangkok, but only when they are with large tour groups being taken from restaurant to shop to bus tour etc. They are comfortable doing that.

Third, language. They are scared of being ripped off and know they can't speak so well, yet.

Fourth Chinese men, however horny they are in China, just don't seem to be very horny outside China. If they travel they like to go with their own GF, in a tour group. They just haven't evolved to all male travel groups, yet.

Fifth, Chinese government regularly posts warnings about the dangers of going to other travels. Because two Chinese traders got kidnapped in Cotobato deeply South Philippines, the Chinese Min Foreign Affairs made an advisory to ALL Chinese not to travel. Same advisory after Thai coup. And many Chinese are wary of international travel anyways.

I had a GF here, wonderfully big boobs, she was 23 and had no passport. Her mom wouldn't let her get a passport because " other countries arent safe ".

I think all of us who monger in south west Asia are safe from hordes of Chinese for a while.

Girls aplenty and no dudes. When the Starbucks at Soi 13 opened we used to sit upstairs all afternoon shooting the shit. Rarely would there be anyone else up there. And that inspite of all the political, natural & other disasters it has continually faced. The Koh Tao murders being one of the most recent.

The year 2014, of course, is a slow year for tourism due to the protests, curfews, the high season being a low season & so forth. The trend in the past decade or two is when such things occur the rate of tourism slows a bit or levels for a while. Then a few months later it starts to skyrocket again.

Therefore 2014 has been an excellent year for the hobby, as evidenced by ISG reports. Fewer tourists always means less guys competing for the hotter ladies & the providing of better attitudes and services. I expect periods like this to continue in Siam for years to come because history repeats itself & the leopard can't remove its spots.

I'm from Canada where 200 to 300 dollars is a quite common price range for independents. Compare that to Thailand at around 7 to 10 times less than that or 1000 baht. Moreover Canada is about to make the buying of sex illegal & a criminal offence. So Asia is sounding better all the time!

Visiting Patts for brief periods can be a bit of fun, and the prices are cheaper than BKK, and you can see an interesting cross-section of humanity. But living there every day? <shudder .

Read a few of the online Pattaya-based news sites and be regaled by stories of fucked-up Eurotrash jumping out of windows, child molesters, desperate guys ripping off hookers, you get the picture.

I'm not suggesting that any member of this August board fits that profile. But, overall, the demographics of the long-term Pattaya residents skews sharply to the low end of the scale.

My most recent visit to Pattaya (a year ago) there was an abundance of normal tourists led by a flag waving captain. Also there was the usual bag of Russians, Indians, Persians, and Pakis.

The only thing that threw me off was if a Thai girl was freelancing or a tourist. Could I invoke the rule of thumb the pretty girls were tourists and the ugly ones "on the clock"?

As for girls, I've had no problem sticking to the basic 1000 baht street walker price at any time in the past 7 years. If gogos up their rates in the low season, I've never heard of it.

People have been predicting the demise of Thai tourism for years, but it just keeps booming. As they say, sex sells. Some 40 percent of visitors are repeats in LOS, compared to Vietnam at 6 percent, no foreigner boom boom industry to speak of & Westernization 2 decades behind the Kingdom.

Fewer girls? Haven't noticed, as I only go to one place. To my observations the Nana Parking Lot vicinity seems to have remained much the same in numbers through the past 7 years, in spite of reports of constant LE raids.

As previously mentioned, the quality of looks is relatively high there of late with lots of new young blood. Perhaps less appealing to those who like curvy females, who are excessively fat to my tastes, but perfect for members such as Opebo & I who prefer them in the range of slim to anorexic.

What I pay in Canada means I'm making a huge savings by purchasing sex here in BKK instead. It's like buying a no name product of way better quality for 10 times less than a branded one. Just brilliant shopping.

The vast majority of tourists are not here for sex. They are here for a cheap beach holiday. That is why incidents like Koh Tao have such a huge effect. And believe it or not many folks are very turned off by a military government.

Back in the "good old days" at 2 am when the Plaza would close, hundreds of gals would come streaming out after work. 90% of them were looking for work. You could stand at the exit or across the street in the lot and scads of gals would come up and ask, "Go with you?" It was like shooting fish in a barrel. Literally hundreds of girls. And everyone of them was happy with 1 k baht.

Of course now GoGo gals make so much they are no interested in a trick after work anymore.

I went to Nana and in most the bars I found older (30's) girls with flabby post-preggo tummies and too much make-up. It was difficult to find a 20 year old cutie.

I wasn't too attracted to the the majority of these girls. Not only were the looks not my style (for money, if it were free; ok). And the attitudes were a little intimidating.

The high season in the next several months may indicate whether or not things will start booming again. An election could help. If tourism don't recover then the quality mongering should remain relatively high.

Though many of them are open to a safe discreet hookup outside of their working hours. Others don't want to be seen with non Japanese customers.

Therefore many ladies of the street have moved to other areas of the business, like freelance restaurants, night clubs, gentleman's venues, massage & coffee shops.

Sex trade workers also have other options that weren't available or popular a decade or two ago. Online escorting, dating sites, craigslist, coyote girls & the list goes on.

Then there's the more lucrative work in other parts of the world, most of which you can find TGs in, whether it's Singapore, Japan, Germany or the Middle East.

Also as a recent post mentioned, a lot of PFP TGs, often homely lookers like you see the photo thread chock full of, are scooped up by foreigners as wives, mistresses, GFs, house keepers, sugar babys & sponsored ladies.
