I've been making the journey for many years from the greater seattle area.

But the main reason is that there are far more economic opportunities outside of the P4 P industry. A gal can actually make a living in a restaurant or store where she could not 10 years ago. Given the choice of working a "legit" job for a living wage or in the P4 P industry for considerably more money, most women will choose the former. So then you end up with a scene like you have in most developed nations. You have a high end and low end and very little in the middle. I think this is where the scene in LOS is headed. And faster than we would all like.

I would imagine that the sex trade there will be eliminated slowly. They won't "crackdown" or close most bars, it will just become harder and harder to make a profit with a bar. Beach Rd will certainly be cleaned up. There will always be the "bars" on Walking Street but they will be more of a novelty; think the "naughty places" on Bourbon St in NO.

But, then, the airfare would be pricey & the trip much longer. To make it worthwhile cost wise you'd need to stay for at least a week, I suppose.

Germany & PI are of the most popular in the world as well for sex tourism, though Russia seldom gets a mention. I'm not familiar with Saudi Arabia, but assume it's bottom of the barrel like the USA.

The bottom 30 percent of female Thais in looks? First place I'd look is where you can find the over 50 crowd. In the Nana PFP scene Beergarden or Annies would be one of my first stops or some bars not far from NEP.

NPL actually gets some of those "office girls" working there. They don't make much money & if an emergency need ever arose, or just the desire for the latest electronic device or brand name clothes, an attractive gal can pull 150 K per month on the street.

For fresh sweet young faces coming from the North the NPL is famous & the easiest place for a gal looking for some dough to make quick hookups. Ditto for the punter.

If these girls are Superstars to you that is great. I don't see it. I live here. On soi 4. I see these girls every day. I also see that they often do 5-10 tricks a day. I have seen most of them over a number of years. The same faces. The same body. But aging rapidly. There have been so few new girls in the street game that nearly every girl you see out there has been in this trade for years. Every now and then a new young girl will show up. And generally disappear within a few days once she sees what the scene is. Its not just the cops harassing them, the low wage (relative to what girls in other venues get) but it is also the customers. Groups of Indians and Arabs. Who surround them with offers of 1000 baht to do all of them. As every one is saying the freelancer scene is drying up fast. People say moved to the Internet. Please tell me where. But the street scene is a shadow of what it was 5 years ago. And a shadow of a shadow of what it was 10 years ago. I am not talking about quality as that is subjective but the numbers are drastically lower. But at the end of the day you are having a great time and that is all that matters.

I started reading the Bangkok forum nearly 12 years ago. It was the stuff of fantasy. Beautiful loving Thai girls that threw themselves at you for almost no money. Wild times. Etcetera, etcetera. I could only afford US and Mexican destinations, so I dreamed of Bangkok for another day. Now that I finally made the journey, I'm pretty unimpressed. The bars have mostly unattractive girls. Hottie freelancers and escorts are pretty close to US prices and US attitude. I was quoted 3k baht from a hottie freelancer at Climax last night and the internet escorts are in the 4k-9k baht range. I got a soapie at Annies that set me back 2500 baht for mostly 3 g service.

Everyone from the girls to the taxi drivers to the waiters seem to be involved in some sort of tourist shakedown.

The winners in this game seem to fall into two categories:

(1) Young superstuds who are bagging approximately the same quality girls that they would get in the US.

(2) Resident expats. I saw some older gentleman (probably from this board) with some STUNNING young Thai girlfriends. These were women that they had clearly spent time finding and cultivating. Also, I'm betting a lot of these gentlemen spoke Thai.

I didn't see many short time tourists doing very well in terms of quality either in Bangkok or Pattaya. The only 9's and 10's that gave me the time of day were ladyboys. Given the cost of coming out here, I think Tijuana is a much better mongering destination.

I've lived in BKK half of every year for the past 7 within 50 yards of this scene & hobbies almost exclusively on the street at or near the NPL. I have nothing to gain by not telling it like it is, though there has been at least one poster here who was clearly promoting Rainbow gogos, trashing the street scene & may have been receiving some kickbacks for it.

In 7 years I recall only one time I've seen what may have been an Indian or Arab taking or talking to a NEP street worker. In hundreds of sessions I don't recall a girl ever mentioning those two nationalities, except a few times speaking about them in unfavorable ways. Nor do they tend to stay at the Nana Hotel.

In the past two months I've been out at night about 20 times and only seen two of those girls filmed above on December 30,2013. Most of the ladies I've seen out there recently I've never seen before, so to my thinking there's a lot of new ones.

Re numbers of girls, within the past few months they began to be forbidden or discouraged from being on the parking lot itself, which may give an impression that numbers are down, but there are more lining the street between the 2 seven eleven stores. Also more out in the daytime than 5 years ago to avoid nightime LE raids.

With the Nana Hotel not having an open disco or night club at this time, any freelancers who were working there will have had to hit the streets or go elsewhere.

The recent posts by old and new members paint a very grim picture of Bangkok. I live in UK and made my first trip to Bangkok this year. There seems to be a lot of comparison with what happened in the good old days. I understand that for those living in BKK that is greatly relevant. But for a large number of us who travel for periods to Thailand is that really of any importance? What I compare is my mongering experience in the UK and that in BKK today.

In the UK I would easily pay £150 for a 1 hour session. Now that is Baht 7500. In Bangkok, for 6000 baht I had a girl stay with me for 2 full days, day and night. Off course there was money spent on food etc but it was not excessive, so maybe a little more than my cost of a one hour session. To have a girl spend 2 full days with me in the UK would cost at least £2000 and the food etc on top of that!

Plus, there is the experience of being able to walk into a MP, or watching a show in a gogo or even picking out the girls in a FL club. I greatly enjoy going to a place like Climax, looking around and picking out the girl that I would go back with! Yes, if one compared to the stories of many years ago when the girls were probably throwing themselves over the mongers, then the scene is depressing, as that is not happening any more and you actually have to have a little game to get the good ones. But for me, fortunately or unfortunately I did not experience the good old days, so I only compare my experience in the UK and BKK right now!

I did do the math and realised that once you add the cost of the hotel, then the price per session is actually almost what you pay in the UK. Howevwer, that session is much much longer in BKK (ie an overnight) as compared to the hour in the UK and the fun is lot more.

Maybe in a few years things will change even more and then it would not be worth travelling to BKK. For me right now, it is still a great place and I will be back next year!

[/QUOTE]That must be why there seemed to be so few guests when I recently stayed in some Hotels, and huge Hotel rooms with upgrade available for low prices. I don't see the tourism skyrocketing at all. I do see a lot more Chinese tourists in the mix though.

Not sure if the ongoing political problems is affecting this.

Every Western or English speaking country in the top 20 has seen increases since 2006, in almost every case very large ones. Likewise for the rest of the group.
