Yeah, I think it is wise to wait, especially for longer trips, with higher risks / costs involved. One has to also count in that our hobby is very close-contact based and some of the countries like Germany still have strict rules on corona measures that can make the experience less than fun. In 2-3 months this might be better, more relaxed.

I have myself booked some very short trips to destinations with low spread and high vaccination-rates that seem to be stable. I have the EU vaccinationpass with proof of two shots so feel OK.

Interesting question SamPeter, I often have asked questions about Stripclubs on this site and generally the knowledge and interest is low, often the perception is that clubs are waste of money: which often can be true if one's purpose is to buy sex at good value.

Generally, in my opinion, stripclubs are better and also more upscale as entertainment in countries where bordellos are illegal: UK, US, Scandinavia to some extent. Don't expect sex though. In countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland stripclubs are bad as the customers / girls concentrate to FKKs instead.

That Hyatt place in Tijuana is great- though they're building a westin (Marriot) next to it now so should be interesting. I never had a problem in zona norte safety wise. Only cops hassling me.

Its a combination of around AUD 150 a day 4/5 star hotels, cute girls, almost safe (never had any safety issues). The best part of Jakarta is Classic and Travel. Tier 2 cities are a lot more fun if you like online.

I also wanted to see for a change anywhere in Europe by adding a bit more to the budget.

First trip (Pre Covid times) stayed at JW Marriott, hit the spa after work on Day 1 and had a full service, when I stepped out after shower and was paying for it the manager said the girl can also do "room service massage". You can skip the Thais because you live in Thailand. There would be so many other races and nationalities for you to choose from though. The drawback is that Dubai is expensive. But if you're living in Southeast Asia and winter vacationing in Brazil, that says to me you've got some money and can afford Dubai if you want to.

In keeping with the larger theme of "best for STR," I would say that, for convenient access for Americans, SXM is probably at the top of the list. Unless you live in a city with nonstop flights to Rio. If you had asked me a few years ago I would have said Costa Rica, but that's not true anymore. That scene has cratered.

I think its important to describe the scene not just in terms of "best countries for STR" but also best VENUES for STR. With punting in an international decline, finding a place that ties it all together- price, convenience, quality, good attitude, cleanliness, and safety -- are getting harder to find. For example, I went to a place in Salvador Brazil that was the best venue I had been to in years. I wrote a report at the time.

On that note, I have many great memories of the Medellin Mansion. Does anyone know if that place is still up and running? I can't seem to find any info on it anymore.

For my my bucket list, I would probably put Sao Paolo at the top of the list. Madagascar too, but that is far far far. You have to burn 3 days just to get there. I saw a post that said Almaty is also a good and up and coming area. Same with Guadalajara.

For old reliables a little further, I would say that Barcelona tops the list. There is also the PI and Thailand, of course. And Germany, if you like FKKs. They are not my cup of tea.

And it's not hugely more expensive. Like Eden 53 is 120/ HR which is a good value. And the handler said if you come in the next two hours I will make it 100€. I had an amazing time. Nothing is like it was 10 years ago. That doesn't mean that there aren't good experiences to be had. But it does mean that you have to do more research, go to places that you wouldn't have otherwise gone, and you have to be willing to pay a little more. That's why the forum is more important than ever. The days of strolling into the Del Rey Hotel and seeing hundreds of women are over.

Forum posting isn't new. Heck, this forums has been around for a long time.

I would respectfully disagree and insist that the women are the drivers of change. Politicians don't care as long as its not in plain sight. Hell, the local politicians are the ones that frequent the venues the most. FKK's thrive in Germany because they business is transacted completely out of public view.

This summer I was thinking of doing Brazil, Spain, Czech or maybe even Amsterdam.

Wanted to see if anyone had some suggestions on must visit places.

Brazilian women are high for me but I am a bit concerned about safety and the types of areas you'd find the women in town.

For example, I just came from Angeles City but couldn't bring myself to hit the go-go bars at night to how sketchy the areas seemed.

I did however enjoy Bangkok which I'm sure isn't much better.

I know the scenes are much different today than years past, but if you had a week to go anywhere, where would you go?

Also I understand I need to go look through those various forums as well, but figured this would be a good place to start.

Imagine a club with around 150 almost full naked girls, for 100/30 , Sharks south Frankfurt. Even 70/30 on NL border. But no place has a club that can compete with Scandallo! So, it's kind of unfair to ding a country for that. No place can compete! But still Colombia does have clubs, and it's good enough that if you have never been there before, then one should go there at least once. .[/QUOTE]As others have mentioned, the two most obvious stopovers are Frankfurt or Dubai. Only one place worth going to in Frankfurt these days. FKK Sharks and on a good night you'll have 100+ naked women to choose from, mainly Romanian girls. In Dubai, it's a more fragmented scene with clubs, bars, massage parlours and online agencies / independents but for sheer variety of girls from all over the world, it can't be beaten. I'd like to spend about 5 months each year in Southeast Asia (places like the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam), and some time in South America as well. I would base myself in either region but I can't find a country without downsides or where they allow you to buy a house with no ongoing leasehold / maintenance fees. Most Asian countries you wouldn't buy in anyway due to earthquakes, typhoons or collapsing currencies. From what I've seen so far: A lot of Southeast Asia is great short-term, but visas and long-term stability can be a bit awkward. Passport Bros, Digital Nomads, travelvloggers and all have driven up the prices in these places too apart from maybe Indonesia or Cambodia. Buying property as a foreigner is often limited or not straightforward for example there is a minimum price threshold in Malaysia, the foreigner price! So its better to rent in most of Asia.

South America seems harder logistically (flights, costs, distance), especially if you're also trying to stay connected to Asia. Paraguay is good for house buying but very hot, some say isolated and bad for the hobby, so you would spend a lot of time in Argentina or Brazil and Colombia is a long expensive flight.

So I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that probably you would be better off keeping a house in a more stable country that has good and cheap flight connections to Asia but is nearer and cheaper than home (my case UK) and make that your retirement base from which to travel / monger. It's no good if the place works out more expensive than staying in the UK, as many places do once running the numbers. But looking for somewhere that's:

Stable and reasonably quiet.

Easy to stay long-term (visa-wise).

Well connected enough for a few long-haul trips a year.

Not too expensive or highly taxed.

Got good flight connections.

Good general liveability long-term.

But I'm struggling to find places that genuinely tick those boxes without major downsides. It feels like everywhere falls down on at least one of these.

Has anyone here actually found a place that works for this kind of setup? Not looking for perfect, just somewhere that's "good enough" to base yourself while travelling out to other regions. Would be really interested in hearing what people have tried and what worked (or didn't).

Have I missed somewhere actually in Asia or Latin America that works?

If you have the means to live both those lives I feel you will be better equipped for when things go sideways. IMO guys who go all out living ALL in these places have some sort of financial strain they need to escape or romance linked connection to someone which usually turns sour. The smart guys use a friend or family members address for bank statements and such. Almost ALL Expats will face issues never expected. Goes with the territory and in this changing / evolving world you need to be able to pivot and change course with it on the drop of a dime.

I would place the Cocal in the upper echelon of punting venues. I nice hotel that is easy to get to from SJO, its right on the beach, and the bar is brimming with ladies. It even has simple casino, if you are into that sort of thing. The TV's at the bar show sports. Booze is reasonably priced. Its the type of large scale punters bar that is getting less and less common in the world. They are available in some spas in Business bay with good reviews. York hotel club has many Africans. They come mainly from Ethipio, Nigeria, Kenya. They will cost you around usd 200 for ST.
