Golden Eyes Bar was, at least until recently, a place to score dope. That's what the "dangerous" part refers to, it's mostly a hang-out for street-level dealers, their girls and a few (very few) farangs who have such a bad itch for chemical or herbal stimulants that they venture into very dark corners.

Kind of ironic, considering the current debate in this thread, but if for some reason you want to meet girls with a drug habit, that's the place to go. However, it's not wise to go alone. You won't be welcome unless you're with someone who's known to one of the regulars.

I can only give you a theoretical answer because I've never had a service issue at Eden. Whether it is skill, luck or the protection of St. Panderus, the patron saint of mongers, each and every session with an Eden girl has met or exceeded my expectations.

But if I ever were to run into a disappointment, here's what I'd do. First, I'd make it clear to the girls that I wasn't happy and if the session didn't improve, I'd speak to Marc. If that didn't work, I'd break off the session, put on my clothes and complain immediately. Remember, a complaint should carry some credibility. You don't want to seem like the guy who eats every speck of food on his plate, then complains to the restaurant manager about how bad the meal was.

Also, it's very good if you have a clear notion of what you're comlaining about. Did the girls fail to provide a promised service? What was it about their service you didn't like? I have no idea about what sort of work you do, but how far would someone get if they complained about your performance to your boss by saying, "I can't explain, but I didn't like it and don't want to pay." Be as specific as possible when complaining.

Finally, ask yourself - am I being fair? Not every experience in life will be a peak one, whether P4P or anything else, but does that mean it wasn't worth it? You're paying about $90 for 90 minutes of sex with two ladies, you're not investing a significant sum of money.Was the session bad enough to make it worth your while to complain about?

In short, unless the session was a rip off, I probably wouldn't complain. I'd still pay the 3,500B, even if it were a bit of a disappointment, but I wouldn't tip the girls. If I continued to visit Eden, I'd make sure to avoid those two ladies. My good experiences at Eden are by no means unique - plenty of guys say the same thing and I'd like anyone to name an establishment that has as consistently high a standard of service as Eden - but as you point out, YMMV.

Well, on my fourth trip to LOS I finally decided to try Eden. I'm more of a FL guy and enjoy the GFE a little more than going to brothels, but based on reports here, I had to try it once. Went through the motions upon entering (yellow line, left side anal right side not, etc, etc.). Picked a decent looking girl from the right side (I'm not really into anal) who looked better in the bar than naked, but a nice girl. She picked a friend with nice fake boobs, and off we went. I have to admit that the whole experience was a little freaky to me and made me a little nervous, so I couldn't really enjoy it as I would have liked. Basic notes by a newbie for newbies.

1. The Nana Entertainment Plaza (NEP)

A landmark of Bangkok (BKK) action is the Nana Entertainment Plaza (NEP) on Sukhumvit Soi 4. Where is that? If you look at a Bangkok map, you'll see major roads (eg., Sukhumvit) and sideroads/lanes (called "Soi"s). So Sukhumvit Soi 4 is the 4th sideroad off Sukhumvit Road. Usually "even" numbered Sois are on one side of the road, and "odd" numbered ones on the other side.

At NEP, and throughout the many Sukhumvit Sois, you will find dozens & dozens of bars and go-gos (strip-joints) filled with girls waiting for you and your hard-earned cash. Fortunately, the sex business is straightforward: find a girl you like, negotiate a price, and take her home.

A few things to note. First, at these places most the girls "work" for the bar, unless they are freelancers (independents.) It is their job to get you to buy drinks, both for yourself and for the girls (and those girly drinks come at a premium price.) Second, if you wish to take a girl home with you, you have to pay a certain amount to the bar (called the "bar fine") AND separately, the girl's own fee. Read the forum for up-to-date prices, as it fluctuates during holidays, etc.

** One factor when negotiating a price with the girl is how long you can expect her to stay with you. On forums you'll see the acronyms ST (short time) and LT (long time.) ST is around an hour, more or less. LT means overnight stay. Make clear to the girl if you expect ST or LT for the price.

What kind of action can you expect? Well, in Bangkok you can find anything. Subjectively the girls at NEP and surrounding will be in the mid or low range... mostly rated 4 to 6 on the looks scale... with a few 7s and very rare 8s (which would already be taken by someone else.) Looks are very subjective, tough, but most mongerers here are going for "service" rather than model-like looks.

Where to stay. There are numerous hotels in the Sukhumvit area, from international chains (such as JW Marriot) to small local hotels (such as the Woraburi Inn.) ISG has an entire section devoted to Bangkok hotels, so look there for more information. You will get the best rates by booking in advance, though a travel agent or via the Internet. A hotel can be "girl friendly" (or not), though typically hotels in this area will be. For your own safety, the hotel will typically ask the girl to register with the front desk and/or leave her ID card with them. Before bringing girls to your hotel, BE SURE to lock your valuables away, either in your in-room safety box (if available) or leave them with the front desk. Most girls are honest but you will never know.

How to get to NEP / Sukhumvit area? From the airport, queue up at the taxi stand and tell them which hotel you'll be staying at. There is a 50 Baht surcharge you will pay in advance. Once in the taxi you should ask to take the toll road. There are two toll roads to Sukhumvit (I believe costing 20B and 40B, respectively.) You're expected to pay the toll fee, so have this ready. The cost from the airport to Sukhumvit should be around 200 to 250 Baht.

Getting back to the Airport. By law taxis should always use the meter, but outside the airport area this is rare. Going back to the airport you'll have to negotiate with the taxi driver up front. Make clear if the price you're paying includes all toll fees. Generally they will want 350 Baht from Sukhumvit to BKK airport, which is a ripoff that's hard to avoid. One time a driver agreed to 300B including toll charges... then the SOB skipped one toll road to save on his costs (good thing I left early or would have been late.)

Getting around Bangkok. Bangkok is a large area; for tourists it is roughly divided into the old city (the western half of Bangkok) and the new city (the eastern half.) NEP is within the newer, eastern half, where you can use the BTS "Sky Train" to get around. From NEP, the closest BTS station is located conveniently on Sukhumvit (turn right onto Sukhumvit and walk a couple of blocks.) You can purchase tickets from the vending machines within the station. The machines only take coins, but you can get change from the ticket booth (sometimes there are special booths for getting change.) Price for one trip is between 20 to 40B, depending on distance. The BTS "Sky Train" does not serve old Bangkok (where the palaces & temples are.) There you can take the riverboats or taxis. For short distances, you can also take the small "Tuk Tuk" three-wheel taxis.

2. More upscale mongering

In BKK you can find beautiful women everywhere, but some places are known pick-up joints. An example would be the Hard Rock Cafe at Siam Square. After paying the 250B cover charge, you will find providers in the bar areas below and on the floor above. The HRC isn't a big area, so unfortunately your selection will be limited. The girls working in places like these will be independents, though... generally better looking than at NEP, perhaps more educated.

Even higher up on the scale are private clubs such as The Pent (31/1 Wireless Road, aka Witthayu Rd, across the street from the Swissotel Nai Lert.) There is also a hopping club at the Novotel Siam Square (cover charge is waived for hotel guests.)

** Be aware that these clubs operate VERY differently from the NEP scene. You should be well dressed or may be refused entry. Here you may find gorgeous model-quality girls (many 8s, 9s++) but the clientelle are also different. While in NEP you'll find mostly older gentlemen wearing shorts and t-shirts, certain nights at the upscale clubs the mongers are young expat executives in their 30s and early 40s, ready to spend a lot of cash. Some of the top girls I've talked to at the Novotel demanded 4000 Baht and rarely budge in price, for good reason. Some are also choosy... why go home with a 60 yo. fat guy (no offence if that's you) when they can be with a handsome client in his 30s, paying the same rate (or more)? Unfortunately, service is often inversely proportional to the way a girl looks. However I'm a sucker for looks and these clubs have not disappointed me.

3. Other notes

** Condoms. Note that condoms in Thailand and some other Asian countries are slightly narrower than those in western countries. You may want to bring your own condoms if this would be a problem for you. Otherwise, you may be able to find the Durex "Comfort" line which is the same diameter as condoms in the west. However in Thailand the condom boxes only have Thai lettering on them so you may not be able to figure out which one is the "Comfort" line.

** In Bangkok and throughout Thailand, there are numerous transsexuals (lady boys), known locally as "Katoey"s. Many of these Katoeys are better looking than your average bar girl, and many tourists can't tell them apart. If you see a girl that's very well "constructed", she may in fact be a he, post surgery. No need to be paranoid, but keep this in mind to avoid surprises. For some, ignorance is bliss.

Where to eat. No need to be apprehensive about finding food in Bangkok because in the worst-case scenario, there are western chains (McDonalds, Pizza Hut, KFC, Subways, Starbucks) everywhere. However local Thai food is very delicious, cheap, and should not be missed. If you're adventurous you'll also like eating from the numerous food-stalls on the street... I miss having a nice greasy pad thai (fried noodles, 30 Baht from street vendors) at 2am, with some cold beer bought from 7-11.

Shopping / gifts. If you'd like to buy some handicraft / artwork to bring home, you should go to the Chatuchak Weekend Market (open Saturdays & Sundays for retail shoppers.) Take the BTS Sky Train to Mo Chit and just follow the crowd to the market (5 minutes walk from Mo Chit station.) You must haggle to get a good price.

If you don't want to haggle then you can also shop at the Naraiphand (127 Rachadamri Road) close to the Phloen Chit BTS station. It is the largest artwork "mall" in Bangkok. You'll end up paying more than at Chatuchak, but the Naraiphand is partly managed by the Thai government, so you have some comfort about the products there. You can haggle a bit at some of the 1st floor stores (usually 10%), though upstairs everything is set price.

For really good prices, you'll have to go to Chiang Mai, where most of the handicraft come from.

4. Conclusion

Mongering in Bangkok is actually very easy... read the forum as there is so much great information from all the posters. Whether you're into the NEP scene, or looking for a change (like threesomes, search for Eden Club), there's something for everyone. There's so much more available to you in Bangkok then what I've described here.

Know what you want, research a bit about prices, be aware of your surroundings, and you're set to go.

Hope this may be of use for someone.

Retired - I don't know about BKK, but several Pattaya kai yaa up on Soi Bukheow have C for 800B for a pack of 4 so 950 is not that unreasonable (or impossibly cheap) IF you deal with a place more than once, they sell you the "good stuff" (Yes, it's INDIAN - "sidalis" or something like that) - same stuff as I got in Cambodia

I am planning a trip to BKK sometime during February/March. This is my first time going BKK alone and as an adult, and would appreciate help from fellow mongers.

I've gone through the forum for a fair bit, if not extensively, and I still have not found answers for my questions.

I read that most hotels would allow guests for a joiner fee, and that this can also be bypassed if I make a double occupancy reservation. But if I were to make a double reservation, how would I check in/out? I am planning on using escort services that would lasts for more than a day.

I know very little about Thai culture, save from what I read here. I know about 'butterflying' and that holding hands aren't considered decent. But what about tattoos? Would I get stick for having tattos on my back whilst I'm lounging at the pool area? My tattos aren't outrages nor provocative. Nor are they tribal. Also, will my 'girlfriend' be turn off by my tattoo? Oh, and I also know that it's impolite to raise your barefeet in public.

One last thing. I'm interested in going on a 'cultural' tour around BKK with my 'girlfriend'. Can I arrange this with my hotel concierge? I'm planning on staying at the Marriott SPA resort.

otherwise there's a quiet jazz bar at the imperial queen's park hotel on suk 22, distil, diplomat bar at conrad, 15th street near sathorn, reflexions at the athenee hotel on wireless, brown sugar, santika, saxophone pub (victory monument), red lantern, foubar in siam, the hornet, and plenty of small thai places rep001tered around banglumpoo... oh and that jazzanova place on suk 24, and bamboo bar at the oriental is very famous for jazz, and mojos on suk 33.

i arrived in bkk on tues for four days of bacchanalia. after having the full pampering session in a manicure pedicure place i headed to darlings mp at 4.30pm.

i picked no. 112 (don't remember her name), she was the oldest of a fairly good bunch. i like 'em more mature, i figure they're more experienced, they know what they're doing and if they're still in the profession they know how to make a man happy rather than just look good.
