boy toy - you get in term 1 - domestic is a bit farther down the road - there is a shuttle bus between internat and domestic. dpeending on where you sit - you might make it - if you can get off fast and (with immigration paper previously filled out ) make it to immigration, then claim bags and thru customs - out to the kerb and catch the shuttle. they announce domestic - it's about 300m or so down the road so walkable but you are short on time. maybe close,

mentang - it's better in soi cowboy(off soi 20 sukhumvit) patpong always impressed me as a newbie trap (not to say that you won't get taken in cowboy - but it's bit more difficult ) rember - bohica bend over here it comes again

Also a lot will walk around and ask for 100 baht after each act, this may even be the case if you are sitting speaking with a lady and not watching. As for the issue with the girl who wanted a tip that is a bit rough. The girl gets a cut of the drink and if you weren't holding her up then it wasn't if she was loosing tip money, but you have to get strong and tell girls you don't want to nick off in a nice way though as they are only trying to do their job.

The inter-terminal buses can be unreliable. There is a covered walkway linking International to Domestic on the first (second in US terminology) floor. It's no more than a ten minute walk. If your flight/baggage is not delayed you should be fine. The Air Asia desks are at the far end of the main row. Their flights are usually delayed, anyway.

There are lots of good bars in Patpong but if you don't know your way around they are difficult to find, even if you know the name of the bar! The wretched market gets in the way of everything.

I would agree with Terry Terrier that the King's group of bars are a reasonably safe bet and there are so many of them that anyone would be able to find them.

A good rule to stick to in Patpong if you dont know your way around is to never enter a bar which requires you climbing a set of stairs. If the stairs have a carpet even more so.

Coincidence or not, right after I took my first gulp of the beer, the bill for the beer came. 400 baht! I asked about the, in my eyes, ridiculous price. She said: for the beer and the show. I said that I’m there for a quick look to see if the show is worth it to stay for. I’m happy to pay for a normal price of the beer, but it is ridiculous to ask that much. Oh, yes, I paid with a 500 baht bill and the waitress claimed the rest to be her tip. I lost my temper but could control myself in time so I left. On my way out I tried to warn a couple of guests who were entering, but apparently the touts were more convincing.

It is widely known that Patpong is a ripoff and a major tourist trap. The golden age of Patpong (1960s?) is long past and hardly anyone (other than first time tourists) go there. Moreover, it is even better known that the upstairs bars (ones with the shows) are an even bigger ripoff. They pad your bill (and get raided often). Which is why one needs to do their homework (i.e., RTFF) before heading to a new place.

Don't forget that you have to also claim your baggage before heading to the domestic termainal.

I've taken 15 or so AirAsia segments, and only a handful with late departing (and none more than 20 minutes).

Two days ago I've taken my first flight with Air Asia. Departure was 1 hour later than scheduled :-(

I know of three places now to monger. Silom/Patphong, Nana and Soi 41 at Pretchabury. My impression is that they cater to tourists (who fucked the scene). I wonder where the locals go to monger.

Not a ripoff, but a good BJ Bar--but not as good as Star of Light in PP II (but there, you don't walk up the stairs).

I stopped in Bangkok for a short period of time going to Patong. I landed at midnight and got to the hotel after midnight so I used an escort service. I used Bangkok Rendevzvous and got what was ordered and had good service.

On my way back home I had one night. I started by just walking around Nana area (stayed at Dynasty Inn Grande). I had a few drinks at a place called Absoulute 7 on Soi 7/1. It's a little pool bar and had the best looking FL's I saw in Bangkok or Patong. Looking back I should have taken one of these girls early. I got a bit to eat at the Landmark Hotel, sat on the balcony outside. I went to Posiden for a soapy and wasn't impressed by the girls in the fish bowl so I went to the model area. Didn't see anything up there worth the money that looked available so back down to the fishbowl. A few of the models that were occupied looked good but non walking around caught my eye. Couldn't figure out what is refered to as sideliners that have been mentioned on this forum as the best bang for your buck. I took a girl from the fishbowl but ended up leaving with an unimpressed feeling.

After Posiden I went to Nana Place and went into several bars and Agogo's. Again after being in Patong for two weeks didn't see anything that moved me. So off the Angels Disco in Nana Hotel. An older lady caught my eye. I ended up taking her and her freind back to the hotel. They worked together like the pros they were but were not a lesbian experiance. Overall though they were very good.

Next time I make it to Bangkok I hope to find some of the higher class girls and hopfully get to spend some more time there. I know it has to have alot more to offer.

Thanks for the reaction CB, but that's not an answer to my question. Besides, I think others, who want to avoid the tourists traps, would like to know too.
