Well to start I saw at least 5 times when was there police chasing girls down the sidewall to arrest them for walking alone. This only happened after 9 at night. Some where hiding inside closed store fronts crouched down. Taylor Made Dreams had a large beach party on Saturday during the holiday weekend. He had a bikini contest. I was a judge. I have been very fortunate to have two long relationships with regulars, a 7 year one, and this new 1 year one.

It works well for me, but I have met a lot of expats in business around Sosua, who have tried to set up housekeeping with a local, even had babies with them, but all of them have broken up, or are going through living hell at the moment, and want to talk about it. The kids are either with the guy, or her family. Not one success story!

This was really surprising to me, given that these guys are long time residents, businessmen, and know the scene as well as anybody.

We sit and talk and I hear the standard complaints about lack of freedom, they want to know where he is at all times. Constant demands to support their familes, and attitude!

The common thread is that once they commit, they give over half their life and half their assets to the chica, who takes it for granted, and doesn't feel the need to show her thanks, by making the dude happy. A couple of guys told me they even sleep in separate bedrooms.

It's a learning experience, because at one time early on, I flirted with the idea of settling down with my regular. As It turns out, I'm glad I didn't.

So my current relationship is now casual, she comes in by invitation on the weekends, or special occasions. She is happy to take what I give her, and I obviously I make it worth her while but the money I give is hers, and I am under no obligation to support her, her child, her family.

I'm sure there is a more practical reason they are happy to see a foreigner. And I will bet being bored albeit true, is not at the top of the list. About foreigners training them? One should consider the possibility, that it is them that may be training those visiting gringos on how to perceive them a certain way (poor, bored, need help, etc), The locals know how to ego stroke the hell out of a mugg ( expressing happiness in seeing you, and telling you how boring their life is ) all done in order to keep the gravy train rolling, and repeat business flowing. It's your assignment of how others supposedly think. If there is anything to dispute it's your contrived projection and assignment of how those women supposedly think / feel about you and your assumption that their lives are boring.

In other words, what you garner from your experience and the reasons for the behavior of the women may be totally different than the reasons you assigned to them. And can't these women obtain the same comforts and benefits from others when you arent there? If so, that would mean that their lives arent boring. It's just that you don't know what else they got going on. My point is. Your experience is YOUR experience. But the women you've assigned as having boring lives may very well be interacting with others. And getting the same, similar or even more benefits on the regular from other sources. May have 8 yr "relationships " with others besides you. Including expats that are in country full time. Do you acknowledge that possibility? If so, do you still think their lives are boring?
