800-1000 baht if it is 12 noon checkout 24 hour checkout 1500 baht
You can get a 1200 B room at Ruamchitt Plaza maybe a little less if you negotiate. Pretty decent budget hotel.
I have tried most of the middle class hotels along sukhumvit, and I don't understand why you fellow mongers don't try out the new hotels from the Dynasty group.
I have stayed one time at the Dynasty inn Grande, and now I booked for April at the Dawin.
Both hotels are located in a quiet side soi from soi 4, and are just a 5 minute walk from Nana plaza.
The Dynasty inn grande and the Dawin costs about 2000 +- and are just a great value for money.
Big, lovely decorated, brand new rooms, swimmingpool, In room safe, big bathrooms, free wifi, and of course very GF.
Try them. You will be surprised. I will never stay another place when I am in BKK.
Ken.
I saw this highly favorable review on Darwin recently, but it added this: "the location is good during the daytime but marginal at night as it sits on the edge of a go-go bar area that is packed with hustlers and prostitutes." LOL, shocking such things are going on in Bangkok, especially if one thought Nana had something to do with somebody's grandmother.

On my next trip I will be required to stay at a non-GF hotel and will not have much free time, but I might be able to duck out for an afternoon or so. Are there any short-time hotel options near the Soi 7 Biergarten? What are they like? How much should I expect to pay?

The BG ladies all know where to go. I was in there twice last week. Not a bad selection at about 7 - 8 pm.

Can't really recomend city lodge unless you just have to live close to the action at any cost.
The AC has two settings, airplane and rocket launch, when you choose betwen the settings the controller makes entertaining sparks. As soon as first light starts they also begin drilling in concrete and hammer away like mad men in the building so sleeping is a rage filled affair.
Feels like I paid money to stay way to long in a short time hotel. I wouln't be surprised if it is indeed so.

There are several and they all know where they are. Usually 300 B and they give you a towel and condom.

There are plenty of places close to the action, but City Lodge is undoubtedly one of the cheapest, along with Darjelling. City Lodge is a reasonable choice for those on a tight budget I think, according to my pal, although their internet was reported to be iffy. I think Silq in Soi 19 is quite good but certainly dearer than City Lodge.
I've searched the forum but can't find out if the Rennaisance is girl friendly?
Thanks in advance for the help!

I'm going to be in Bangkok on the 9th for a few days at the most and am looking for a decent place on a tight budget. Since it will not be for that long, I can swing paying a little extra if there is nothing in the range I'm looking for. I've checked through the forums as well as the listing of girl friendly hotels that was linked to but have drawn a bit of a blank.
My only real requirement, aside from it not being a shithole, is decent WIFI (I'll have less than a week to fill out my income taxes but hope to bang it out in a day).
Even though it is well out of the range I posted, I am thinking about staying at Majestic because of positive comments.

At that price, I thought shit-hole might be one of your requirements, as some shit-holes cost more than that :D
I haven't actually stayed at this Unico, but other Unicos are usually O.K.
Brothers,
Heading to BKK, party of 4; is there any hotel similar to the penthouse in Pattaya:
http://www.penthousehotel.com/photos_pictures_images_videos-babylon_spa_party_triplex_suite_room_accommodation-penthouse_pattaya_beach_party_hotel_three_couples_swingers_best_kept_secrets_walking_street_soi_pattayafunland_girls_bachelors_parties.html
The idea is that we could have 4 separate rooms, interconnected, and a common area to eat, drink, and party with the girls being brought in. At the end of the night, we could descend to each of our rooms for happy endings.
I don't mind paying a little more; just wondering if such a hotel existed?
Good luck!
Looking for an upscale 4 bedroom hotel suite in BKK for a May visit. Might anyone have any suggestions?
