When I went to pay my bill at DV last night, I noticed something peculiar. It was the only machine that I have encountered in Rio that did not give the patron the option to select whether they wanted to pay in Dollars or Reais. From termas to clothing stores, the machine always gives me the chance to select how I want to pay, but for some strange reason that wasnt the case with DV's hand help machine. I plan on asking why when I return on Thursday.
An interesting thing that happened at DV last night was watching two Spaniards skip out on their bill. They were at the desk for over 20 minutes arguing about their drink bill with the guy who works as the cashier. (I guess they didn't like the girls running up the bill with those overpriced Gin and Tonic with Red Bull). Plus, they probably had to pay the exit fee of 150 R to take the girls out too. One of the security guys said the bill was around 800 R. After going back and forth with management, they looked at each other, said something and then hightailed it down the stairs. They knocked over the fence and ran down the street!! Lucky for them, there were no police officers in that little hut stationed next door. (So strange that they would risk being thrown in jail for a bill that was only 800 R. With Euros that would have been a cheap night!

I'll use them to pay my hotel bills, at certain types of restaurants, and other places. But for the most part, I just like dealing in cash. And by doing that you pay less than if you use a credit card where the establishment tacks on a surcharge for allowing you the privilege. I used to travel with lots of cash, but not anymore. I just withdraw from a secure ATM using a debit card that refunds any and all fees. That Schwab card is really good! The international traveling monger's card of choice!
Is the machine charging in Reals for all cards or charging in Dollars (or other currencies) sneakily for international cards?

I am in town in Copacabana. If anyone is around and wants to meet up send me a message. It's my first time here so I am looking for someone to show me the ropes. Been all over Asia and Europe this year so I can share stories.
Is the machine charging in Reals for all cards or charging in Dollars (or other currencies) sneakily for international cards?
Thats the 25 thousand-dollar question!! If the business is smart, they are charging in Dollars because they can tack on fees and they set the rate. Thats why I always pay in the local currency because then the bank decides the conversion rate. I didn't go to DV last night but I will ask the next time I am in there if I can pay in Reais.
DV has an exit fee? I thought it was basically a cafe with a bunch of freelancers hanging around?
Yes, its called a "Desperta" charge on your bill. It was 75 R last year, I don't know how much it is now.
I've searched threads and their website (which is intentionally vague) . Can anyone tell me how Casablanca in RIO works. I know it's a stripper bar. I know the girls will negotiate for sex. Questions:
1. if their a club fee to take a girl ST? LT?
2. is there rooms attached to the club for additional fee?
3. can you take girl back to your hotel instead of ST rooms if hotel is close?
Also story upon story on guys getting overcharged in RIO on credit cards in places like DV and Casablanca. Can one pay everything in cash as you go?
Guys, I have been warned about crazy influx of people coming into RIO for a rock music event from September 12th to 22nd.
Rock in Rio 2024 is a pretty big deal. I prefer the acts years ago, but at least I know the names of the '24 headliners.

I went once in January and it was are $500/ h in the club (don't remember how much the room is), and it was are $1000 for overnight (although overnight was like 3-ish hours). There is a fee you pay the club to take her out, and I think it was like around are $150.

Yes, I recall it being quite high, like 200-300 R depending on time of night. The girls charge 500-800 on top, but may be more willin to shack with you if it's late at night and they live far outside of the city (gap in service, need a place to stay). Ive personally had as low as 600 LT including exit fee, but it’s rare … I speak a little Porto, I vibed with the girl and she really wanted to leave lol.
2. Yes, total ST amount for girl somewhere around 600 R.
3. Yes, see above.
Also, there is a 100 R fee (gets 2 drinks) for entry. You can sometimes negotiate down to 60-80 R depending on time of week and if you're in a group.
Maybe you can be my editor, to improve my incredibly poor writing (actually incredibly tired writing which I should avoid, in all fairness).
Vagabundo linked up with 2 other ISGers on Friday, having been delayed by traffic. One was a new to town monger and gamer who shall remain unnamed who is a scholar and a gentleman for waiting on the 2nd floor of the Mcdonalds at Metro Uruguiana along with 2 other ISGers, both quality dudes too, and wingmen. Now is actually the optimal time of year to be in town as the best girls are coming back to the prives to get the cash they need.
We patrolled over to Darkroom, and I hit a regular for a good 30 minutes of actual sex shag after which she gave me a weak massage, but I session with her due to her other features. Anyway, you can always get a solid girl there. And the open air area where you can socialize makes it a very minimal but workable boate kind of feel not just a prive.
We went down to 1417 in the same building which had some good talent including a new negra, ariela. One wingman was immediately jealous of the ole vagabundo direct approach of getting numbers in the line up. It is true, Vagabundo like all men with penises is at heart a selfish bastard. Glad to share, glad to get in the line, even at the end.
We four musketeers were crossing Rio Branco. Vagabundo was late to a event at the Swiss Consulate in Gloria where he expected some kick boxing French exchange student to give a particular aula (class) nekid, along with a certain Brazilian student who teaches samba lessons, also nekid, fresh off her nekid piano duet with the Russian exchange student who taught Vagabundo all the words in the hit song, I got love, which they danced together. Let's face it, at 90 -- almost 91 years old -- Vagabundo aint doing samba like he used to when he was 87. But the enormous girth of my 17 centimeter long Bratwurst always hits the g-spot with my uncircumcised German. Italian pepperoni. Show me a man without an ego and I will show you a loser every time. But, being a bad wingman, Vagabundo took off like a bat out of hell to the closest Bradesco and left his three fellow musketeers in the dust. They were pissed and had to call to ask the exact location of Bel prazer, which is Rio Branco 185/2114, where one of them shagged, apparently.
Vagabundo had shot an enormous wad of jism across the back and ass of the girl up at Darkroom. I mean, I hate to complain, but the whole time she was obsessing over seeing my blood exam. After the deed, I did show it too her and she approved. I mean, it is a good thing to be safe. I will share the contact of the doc who will come out and do a mobile blood draw -- same guy who does 4 x4, which is where I got the contact -- if you PM me and join our whatsapp group.
Vagabundo like Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Henry Miller and Jorge Amado is a writer in the genre of the Literature of Hoaring. We few, we privileged few men of luxury who can enjoy the finer things in life are a brotherhood unto ourselves. In the Rich World Pussy Prisons like 'merika, our brothers with penises use their pricks less, and we would be glad to sympathize, but we are too busy fucking the next hot little piece of ass that comes to Centro, Zona Sul, and Recreio for some money and fun.
Bis bald meine damen und herren.
That's German for later dudes and bitches.
