If you add a 500 baht non-mandatory tip to that, you are talking about somewhere around 3000 baht. I agree though 10 K sounds a little high, particularly given that on the girl front, one usually hits a wall after a few days and while one might start at three girls a day (e. g.), few can keep up at that pace for a full month. Then again, I have known a few who could, damnit!

I'm planning a trip to BKK and Pattaya but I'm a little worried about racism over there if anyone can tell me what I should expect I would be grateful. Also my plan is to spend 5 days in Bangkok and 5 days in Pattaya how much money should I bring with me to be comfortable?

But he's a very nice guy. And spends the dollars. However he met a lot of girls who like black guys but as long as they are respectful. As for the money, its relevant on how many girls you want per day. And the quality of girls! Not including airfare and hotels. You can have an pretty good time with 3-4,000 dollars if you want 1-2 basic girls a day, but its always more fun if you have at least $5,000! Usually I spend a minimum of 5 grand but usually stay longer then 5 days in each city. Read a bit about the BF's and what the girls want. On average anywhere from 1500 for a FL and 3-5,000 b for a solid gogo or bar girl. Then do the math on how many girls you want per day. That is, if you don't mind the potential of being arrested, having your name in the local paper, losing your job, having a criminal record, even potentially being branded as a "Sex Offender" and put onto a lifetime registry. I did mention that Thailand is one of the few "prime" sex tourist destinations on the ball, if not number one. From what I've read in certain areas where it's illegal LE don't even bother enforcing the law, which means even the clueless don't have any such problems there.

OTOH nothing could ever go wrong with an American travelling abroad to a poverty stricken thoroughly corrupt third world country, could it? Actually things as bad as you mention & far worse happen on a regular basis, as those who follow the news are well aware. Such news stories are just the tip of the iceberg.

To chime in on the conversation I think a large percent of American mongers go to destinations in the Caribbean and south America. Places like the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil, Jamaica etc. The length of the flights are a big factor. The DR and Costa Rica are 3 hrs away from NY and the flights are considerably cheaper. Its easier to take a quick weekend getaway to those destinations than it is to go to Thailand, Cambodia, Jakarta etc.
