I would imagine that the majority of those 800 k were not single male sex tourists.
That would be true of tourists to any country. Though I have seen reports of some planes to LOS being full of guys. It's mostly males in the arrivals lineups whenever I visit BKK. OTOH to DR apparently a large percentage of tourists arrive by cruise ship.

"The hurricane season extends from June to the end of November.
"The Dominican Republic is located in an active seismic zone.
"Violent crime (including assault) against foreigners occasionally occurs. Petty crime (including pickpocketing) is common in urban areas. Thefts have been reported in resorts, including in hotel rooms and hotel room safes.

"Foreign tourists are often considered attractive targets for criminal activity and you should maintain a low profile to avoid becoming a victim of violence or crime.
"The dangers present in the Dominican Republic are similar to those of many major USA Cities. Criminals many have weapons and are likely to use them if they meet resistance. Visitors walking the streets should always be aware of their surroundings. Be wary of strangers, especially those who seek you out at celebrations or nightspots. Travel with a partner or in a group if possible.
"While pick pocketing and mugging are the most common crimes against tourists, reports of violence against both foreigners and locals are growing. Crime levels tend to rise during the Christmas season. You should take extra precautions when visiting the Dominican Republic between November and January.
"Credit card fraud is common in the Dominican Republic and has increased significantly in Santo Domingo and other resort areas of the country.
"Minimize the use of automated teller machines (ATMs), which are present throughout Santo Domingo and other major cities. ATM fraud schemes often result in cards becoming jammed within the ATM card reader. Once the card owner has concluded the card is irretrievable, the thieves extract the card for their use. Sophisticated "insiders" scams also occur, where criminals access and manipulate electronic data entered by legitimate card holders at properly functioning ATMs to steal funds from checking accounts.
"We strongly advise visitors to the Dominican Republic to take only hotel taxis or taxis operated by services whose cabs are arranged in advance by phone and can subsequently be identified and tracked.
Most Americans don't even speak about mongering to their closest friends.
That's because they are conservatives on the outside (for show). Where do you think is the easiest to pick up girls (don't mean P4 P) in America? Churches in the Bible belt.
As far as the Secret Agents go, they were on the President's security detail. Mongering puts them at serious security risk.
Now, a tip for the Yanks, according to Maxim, or a magazine like them. We all know that in the USA it's illegal to solicit a prostitute, or for one to solicit you. Sex in exchange for money is illegal. However, if I ask a girl to have sex on camera, and she signs a model release, it's suddenly no longer prostitution but "1st Amendment protected speech. " Go figure. So, if a lady asks if you want to party, tell her no. But, you're an amateur photographer and that you take pix of adult subjects for your private collection. You'd be happy to pay her to model for you. A ladycop won't go to your room with you. A real hooker normally won't have a problem. Once in the room, things can take their course. But you haven't offered sex for money, just money for 1st Amendment protected speech. Damn if our laws aren't fucked up.
I remember the time when hookers in Las Vegas carried a copy of the Supreme Court Decision about the "1st Amendment Protected Speech" in their bags and their business cards and advertisements actually had a reference to that decision.
Canada is an option for those close to the northern border of the states, outcall is legal and there's even the occasional incall joints. Don't forget Brazil, that's a big draw for those living down south or near a major airport hub where airfare is cheaper and obtaining a visa to visit Brazil is easier. Europe is also a 'semi close' destination for many on the east coast. Again, if your at the right airport you can be in Europe in under 9 hours, compare that with a 25 hour travel time to reach Thailand.
Since December 6, 2014 buying sex in Canada is illegal, the same as it is generally in the USA.
Certainly Europe is closer than LOS for some Americans, but on the whole pricey compared to third world dirt poor Thailand.
Thailand offers way more bang for the buck & better menu diversity without the attitudes.
LOS also gives one quick access to other SEA and Asian destinations full of PFP variety.
The forum does have USA Threads. I don't ever read them though.
Where are these USA discussions. I've never seen them. Only Canada & Mexico are listed for North America. Though the BKK thread here seems best suited for comparisons between Bangkok, Thailand & "God's country".
I agree things are getting a bit ridiculous. Whats the reasoning behind 1000 baht barfines on Dec. 24? If its to keep the girls in the bar. Seems it works.
Christmas eve in Thai don't seem to be a big deal! I'm pretty sure Christmas day is no biggie either.

...Where I should stay for easy and good pick up of girls?
Sir William is right. Read back a few months in the BKK Hotel thread to see BM reviews on many of the best possibilities. There is no shortage of good accommodations in the Sukhumvit, BKK neighborhood at all price points. Once you settle into your digs, you will find yourself literally tripping over friendly girls looking to make a connection on any Suk Soi corner and more importantly you will be very close to some of the best venues in town. To start you off in the right direction; check out the Phachara Suites Hotel. A friend of mine likes this hotel a lot. I like the 1 bedroom suites at the Fraser, Admiral Premiere, Grand Mercure Asoke, and the Grande Center Point T21. Prices range from around 1900bt to 4800bt a night for suites at these hotels.
I have found places that are more edgy to be far better for gals overall. Why? Because there are fewer tourists there. Cheaper, more fun, and better attitudes. Once they are safe and discovered it is over.
IMO the reason the edgy more dangerous places offer more bang for the buck is that they tend to be poorer. They don't necessarily have less tourists, as AC & BKK amply prove. Though IME service & attitudes in BKK appear to improve during the low season when there are fewer tourists than in high season.
As for the Dominican Republic, I have no idea re how cheap, fun or the attitudes there. Never been in the Caribbean or researched PFP there. Though if you like white or Oriental babes, you will be disappointed.
Even generally expensive nations usually have cheap options, like the USA:
"So, hooked up with Shannon today. Went to her house in Pasadena about 12:20. Went down to the basement. Agreed on half / half for. 60. Laid down on an air mattress that was on the floor. She started me off with a really nice BBBJ. Got me nice and hard. I put some lube on and switch to some BBFS from behind. Hit it nice and hard doggy-style for several minutes which led to a nice pop inside. Paid her. Got dressed. Was out by 12:45. Will definitely repeat. Number for trade available to trusted seniors. ".

Place
Hi,
I am planning to visit Thailand end of Feb. To first week of March.
Please suggest me place where I should stay for easy and good pick up of girls.
Thanks in advance.
I was there last may and I think the best place to stay is around the Nana Hotel. Though I didn't stay there because I felt it was not a good deal. 1500 baht a night and it seemed a bit shabby, you cannot beat the location. Walk outside and there are 20+ sw at the street. Cross the street and the Nana strip go go's, walk a few blocks. Ambassador disco w FLs lots of them though way over priced. Also easy access to public train system. I also liked all the street vendors on the main road that passes by the Nana. Can't remember the name. If you are on the cheap as you pass the Nana (on the right) about 100 m on the right there is a 7_11 and a road / alley to the left. The first hotel down the alley on the right is nice / clean / modern small, no windows but 600 baht a night. I stayed there, a bit of a cave, but I only used it to sleep and take girls to do. They also do st for 300 baht. At the end of the alley there is also a hostel 100 baht a night, bunk beds with lockable drawer, bring own lock or buy cheap one. Not conclusive to bringing girls back. I too will be in LOS at the end of Feb. For 10 days but I will only spend a night in Bangkok and head to Pattaya for most of the trip. I feel it is much better place for girls and better atmosphere. If you want to meet up and go hunting, let me know.

After hour clubs status?
Can any one put some light on after hour clubs scene, Club like Bossy, Spicy, Mixx and Swing. Last time when I was there all of them were getting closed at 3. Not a single bar or club was allowed to be open after 3. Scene is still the same or there has been some changes in timing? I Miss those days when you were allowed to party till 5 in morning in after hours clubs. I am planning a short trip in Feb so any kind of update will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance and wish everyone Merry Christmas.
Hi,

Thanks in advance.
The whole of Bangkok is only a short taxi-ride or trip on the BTS away from Nana or Soi Cowboy, so any hotel in Central Bangkok would be OK.
But if you want to be really close to where the action is, then choose a hotel near Nana or Soi Cowboy, in other words somewhere near the lower part of Sukhumvit Road. Go to a website such as htttp:/www.booking.com, tick the "Sukhumvit" box, choose the map and zoom in on the western part of Sulhumvit Road. There are scores of hotels to choose from, depending on your budget and style.
Of course you also want to to go through a few weeks (months?) of reports here on the forum to get more detailed advice.
Personally I favour Citypoint Hotel (http://citypointhotel.com/) for a shorter stay and Citadines 23 (http://www.citadines.com/en/thailand/bangkok/sukhumvit23.html) for a longer stay.
