Bangkok Reports

[B]December 23 (Day 1: Tuesday)[/B]

I landed in Bangkok at 7. 20 am in the morning. Took almost 2. 30 hours to get through VOA as multiple flights had landed at same time. I was anyways not in a hurry, check-in being after 12 am. I had booked Hotel Manhattan as this was a last minute trip and tariffs for preferred hotels were beyond reach. I was to be joined by a buddy from Singapore in the evening and we were to go to Pattaya on 25th December. I had planned to spend 2 nights in this city as my first experience had been really good in November.

I made it to the Hotel and was granted early check-in. Got currency exchanged at the shop on corner of 7/1 alley. Rested for a while and plan was to hit a soapy later in the afternoon. I took the BTS around 4 pm to get to Cherry Massage, looked up the site on way but no pics of girls were available, looked like the site had been revamped to acknowledge the place's presence and give directions only. On my Last visit there were 3 girls, not doable hence had moved onto Tulip. I walked in and it seemed like a dejavu, 3 girls again and none interested me. I stepped out and was contemplating on where to go and decided to step next door into Angel massage. The receptionist were stocking photographs of the girls present on the day. She explained the charges and I browsed through the album selected few but got turned down as they had a pink or yellow tag which the receptionist explained meant they were either busy at the moment or had a booking lined up. I asked her which ones were actually free and available. She said I better take a look for myself. She opened the door in front of the counter and there were 7/8 girls sitting. I screened briefly and decided to take Pim as she was smiling and looked kinda cute to me. I do prefer GFE and she seemed a promising candidate. I decided to get into VIP room and ordered for a Heineken. Pim took me upstairs. Usual shower and brief lotion massage process followed. I checked later and found Pim listed on the site but on the 3rd or 4th page. She had A sized boobs, trimmed Bush, couldn't guess earlier due to her smart padding. CBJ and few positions. PIM was energetic but somehow it just ended like an average session and got my load off. Total 2350 (1500 + 650 + 200 tip). Session: 5/10.

I came back and took a nap. My buddy joined me at around 8 pm. He settled down and we had few shots of JD he had brought along from Singapore. It was 10 pm before we left hotel and decided to walk towards NEP. The crowd slowed us down considerably and on reaching the corner I moved to the right, wanted to check out stuff available in Grace hotel I had read in one senior members FR. Nothing great observed and to write, took a leak in the lobby and walked back towards NEP. While chatting on the way our conversation ended on Russians and somehow we ended up in lobby of Hotel Rajah. SP immediately accosted us to the 4th floor. He took us from one room to another with 1 or more ladies sitting in each room with the door open. Price was 3000 baht for ST. We came out as soon as we could and ended up in NEP finally.

We went in, place looked quite lively. There was decent crowd in the bar. Walked up to Angelwitch first, bad choice. 3 women on stage, none interesting but good rock music was playing so decided to sit for a few songs and cool off. Bad decision, ac was not working properly and the place was quite warm and smoky. Continued to work our way through the first beer, the show started and it was repeat performance of what I had seen a month earlier. Not happening for me decided to walk across to Hot lips. Candy land had replaced hot lips though the staff and girls remained same. Spent some time there but nothing to write about. NEP really seems to be going downhill with each passing month. We decided to hit Climax. Reached there paid entrance and got in. Lot of mature ladies. Girls strictly MIA. Stuck around for an hour and got out. It was nearing 2 pm and I wanted to get to Soi cowboy before time ran out. Walked briskly towards soi cowboy. Saw that the mobile bars on the footpath leading to were being set up so had an option in back of my mind. Baccara had closed and they were winding up, walked upto Suzie wong was almost empty, walked toward Crazy House and as soon as we approached the entrance the guy asked us to go in but another guy sitting on the stool towards the road said that we need to buy drinks. I thought isn't that why we were entering, to drink. There was a confusion between both with one holding hand and asking to enter while other insisting to buy drinks. I wanted to avoid this and we walked away. Back to the mobile street bars outside soi cowboy as other bars inside were also packing up and seemed empty as most had folded the curtains on the entrance. Settled in one had a few drinks there and got a guy with guitar hanging around to play some rock ballads for drinks in exchange. There were some girls but none interesting, changed to another bar right on the corner, met some aussie guys, interesting conversation over cricket but no decent girl around, hung around enjoying our drinks and the hot cricket conversation with the chilly weather. Maybe this was not our lucky night. We also had to walk up to country road or the corner bar at the entrance of soi cowboy to take a leak and they charged 20 baht for it. Was almost 6 am by the time we finished and reached hotel.

[B]December 24 (Day 2: Wednesday) [/B]

We got up at 1 pm took the BTS and got ourselves to Boat noddle alley for lunch (I really thank Natty for sharing this place, outstanding noodles). My buddy went to get a massage in Soi 7/1 and I went and rested for a while, was not feeling quite well. Got up and booked a taxi through VR for morning pickup to pattaya, smooth process and charge was 1200 baht. Lady confirmed on txt. We then had a few JD cola shots in the room and hit Soi cowboy. Went to Baccara at 10 pm. As usual amazing selection of girls. I found the cute and young ones on the ground floor as both the first and second floor had more silicones and girls looked better suited for PSE to me. We settled on the stool near the bar. The girls changed stage and few approached us. Found one to be good but wanted to have a better look around. Went up to the first floor to smoke. I liked one of the waitress serving near the right hand corner tables, amazing looks, slim body, cute smile was wondering how come she's not on the stage. I got myself and her a drink, broke ice with her. Within minutes I asked if I could bar fine her, her look was of surprise, she showed her hand towards all the girls on the floor and asked me to take a pick from there. I said I was interested in her. She told me that mamasan will not let her out before closing time as the place was quite busy. Hard luck but she was worth trying for me. We sat on the sofa staring at the silicones all around. Meanwhile the girl we had met down came upstairs and we invited her to join us. She was from Laos, name was ruchiba or ruchita. Barfined her ST, split with buddy and headed to hotel. Surprisingly Manhattan charged joiner fee of 500 baht despite booking room 2 rooms each with 2 person. Good session with the girl though, be sized boobs, girl was very active. Total 3800 (2500 + 600 + 200 tip+ 500 joiner fee). Session: 6. 5/10. Surprisingly she said that there are some more Laotian girls in Baccara. I wanted to get into Crazy house to check Laos / Cambodian girls earlier night but couldn't. I will definitely return to Baccara to check these women out in future.

I finished and let the girl go. I than took a walk upto Soi 33, wanted to check if there was any flesh left on bones of Dali and I had never been to a hostess bar before. Better to check one before they all close down. I went in and was followed by the old mamasan sitting at the door. Few guys hanging around and maybe 6/7 ladies, 3 of which were ok. They were all well dressed (party / long dress) not the typical gogo tube tops and tanks. Most of them seemed to be enjoying drinks with old timers at the bar, could make out by the way they were chatting up with girls across the bar. I took a seat near the cash counter at the end. Got a SML. One free lady walked up to me and settled in the chair besides. I got her a drink, was on cruise mode now. Looks wise she was average but she knew her sport. Unfortunately she couldn't speak or understand much English except basic pleasantries which I found quite surprising. So the other lady played the interpreter. This lady seemed to be fast and good, maybe the lack of customer coming this was must be making them eager to not let go of anyone who walks in. I switched to google translate, helps most of the times. Didn't want an interpreter hanging around. Within minutes the lady had started kissing me, blowing smoke from her lips to mine, rubbing her arse to my tool. She was really skilled, must have been 30 yr old, be cups, good body and a shapely arse. It happened so fast that I didn't even remember her name, didn't want to ask again as I really needed time from the session just finished. I resisted my hands from entering her panties. I told her that I couldn't take her now and maybe will come back later, settled my tab and moved back towards Asoke junction wherein I would catch up with my buddy.

We entered Soi cowboy again and got a seat on the corner bar at the right of the entrance to the soi, needed to cool off more. Got ourselves a beer, place started filling up with LBs, decided to move on. We entered Suzie wong, it was empty again, 2 matured girls dancing topless on the stage. I wondered whether all girls had been barfined or they were just having a bad day. Didn't stick around, festivities were high outside with all coyote girls cheering and wishing Merry Christmas to each other and customers. Few had already opened beer bottles and were splashing around. It was really a very lively atmosphere. It was nearing 2 pm and I decided to walk into Sharks. There were quite few girls on the floor, felt good after having come from an almost empty Suzie Wong, liked one but someone had already barfined her. I asked the mamasan regarding the closing time to which she replied late today for Christmas, I assumed 4 or 5 am minimum. Also must be the reason why so many girls were still available. Sat around but none ticked the list. We decided to check another bar now armed with the knowledge that we had some more time on our hand.

As were standing out contemplating which bar to enter Baccara had closed. Guess all their girls must have got barfined while other bars still had loads of coyotes on the street. It was barely 3. 30 am now.

We decided to walk towards main road. While passing through I saw a stunning girl amongst the numerous coyotes sitting outside Cowboy2. I just froze in my tracks, she looked tired and weared down and was leaning on another girls shoulder, both sitting on stool outside the bar. I felt as if she's pulling me towards herself (JD and SML were doing their magic). I decided to go in. Whoah!! This place had an amazing selection of girls inside, must be 20/25 girls up on stage and few customers around and another 20 odd sitting on the sofas near the toilet entrance. Good enough for us to settle down and have a few beers. But my eyes were looking for the girl I saw outside. I went out for a smoke and made eye contact with her followed by a smile, maybe she got my message. She walked in and settled on the sofa with other girls. Huge commotion being caused by few dudes getting girls to pole dance at their tables on the opposite side of the stage. The girls then changed stage and I was like a tiger waiting to pounce on my prey. I just wanted her. Another lot of 15 odd girls got on stage. Surprising for me that so many girls at this time of the night and available. Not waiting for the mamasan I waved to her as soon as she got on stage she responded with a smile. Now the wait for her to get off stage, another 15 minutes later girl was sitting besides me. Buddy bagged another one. Got them drinks, started chatting with her. She was from Isaan, the unique jawline and sharp nose, slender body like a cheetah. Anna was her name. I immediately told her that I wanted to barfine her. She said she couldn't go with me as she had to get home by 5 a, was staying with her family. I didn't believe it and couldn't take her refusal, got her another drink and kept working my way. Told her that my hotel was also close by and it would be fast and quick looking at the watch which was almost nearing 4. 15 am. I told her I really liked her and persisted like a kid to spare me that 1 hour. She finally said she would check with counter and come back in few minutes. I waited and she was back with a sad face. She said that she could come but I would have to pay a barfine of 3000 and another 3000 to her for ST, 6000 baht got my eyes rolled up. It hit me suddenly that maybe this steep barfine was the reason that so many stunning girls were still in the bar and on street. But now the crowd had thinned quite a bit and holding back these girls didn't seem sensible but who was I to question that. I took her out for a smoke and wondered in my mind. She told me that if I come early tomorrow I could barfine her and the charges would be normal again. 3000 was kept for Christmas eve specifically. Why this day? I wondered. I took a deep breath and decided against spending this amount of money as I was going to pattaya next day and wanted to hold onto the cash. 6000 seemed ridiculous to me at that point despite the crazy urge to fuck her. I even offered her to tag along to pattaya with me and that I would take care of all her expenses and bar fines, etc to which she smilingly refused. I wasn't expecting her to say yes though but no harm in trying. Spend some more time with her till I could finish my drink and then walked away with heavy heart, sorry, heavy balls.

She saw me off at the door and I walked away with a raging hard on. Had become immune to the pulling and laughter of all the coyote girls who were drunk and still having fun around shouting and cheering.

Ended up in the street with mobile bar of last night, didn't feel like drinking anymore so called it a night. Next evening was to be in Pattaya and hoped for a good one.

I was woken up by a call from the VR taxi driver at 11.30 am. I asked him to wait for an hour as we had just got up and needed to pack and check out. He did without any issue, really appreciated that. Packed fast and checked out and were on way to Pattaya.

It seems this guy didn't check her background because this gal was doing massages and BJs here in Vegas, advertising on BP and CL. I guess this gal continued her ways even after she got married.

I see a lot of cargo pants worn in Bangkok. I've read pick pockets love guys who wear cargo pants. I think Bangkok is a pretty safe city. Still, I wouldn't wear a $2K watch walking the sidewalks at night. I wear a Citizen watch I paid a couple hundred for when I travel.

Current recommendations from first-hand experience would be greatly appreciated.

I've had suits and shirts made by Tailor on Ten, which is actually on Soi 8. It is owned by two Canadian guys who are very pleasant to deal with. They are not the cheapest but I've found them to be honest and they stand behind their work. Check their website.

Thailand is but one of a great many countries where grown men don't wear shorts, unless they are poor manual laborers or are at the beach. I always wear jeans in BKK (you get used to it), or a summer weight pair of slacks and a collared shirt if going to someplace decent at night.

Now, as a farang, you can usually get by in anything this side of a Speedo (If you look like Brad Pitt you can probably do the Speedo, too), but that doesn't mean you should. Asians place a large emphasis on appearance, so if you look good, you'll be treated better.

Went to the Pronto Denim Carnival a few weeks ago and the Japanese manufacturers all said that BKK is as important as Tokyo is not more so now. There are more great shops selling selvedge denim here than you will see in any US major city. Also quite a few folks manufacturing and doing bespoke jeans in Thailand. There is nothing like a great pair of jeans. Have three great pair myself. And yes, I wash the once a year. And no, they don't smell. Even in the Bangkok heat my 18 oz ones are comfortable. Good denim breathes better than most fabrics.

Get a great pair of jeans Paul. You won't be hot.

You started by selecting the waist and inseam measurements, the cut and then had scores of custom options to choose from. There was a young man taking orders and helping customers with the multitude of options. Had I run across it at the beginning of my trip I would have ordered a pair. I really like jeans. I live in Southeast Florida and do find them hot in the summer. I wear mostly linen and summer weight twill, which I find more comfortable. Perhaps my jeans, which are fine in our mild winters, are made from too heavy a weight denim. I will take your advice and shop for a pair of bespoke or custom made jeans on my next trip this spring. Where do you recommend I look?

However not to club obviously, where proper shoes are called for, even if Thais are telling you to go more casual (they can be wrong). I don't really think sneakers are a good idea if you are dressing up a bit, however maybe I can be wrong on this.

In most situations its too hot to wear sneakers really.
