Lazy or not so lazy newbies
The FAQ is old but is still very accurate. How many newbies actually read it before posting - I suspect very few. And if you yourself, newbie or senior read it, you'll find many of the links, tips remain accurate to this day.
The reports of distinction include tons of information, maybe even too much....but again the classic by Phuquer, although several years old remains accurate. Places change, prices increase but the overall status in LOS has remained unchanged for years...that is one of the attractions of Bkk. Even if your interested in escort services, read a couple of the other posts - most of them are informative and took effort by others to post.
The LOS threads are the most active on the international threads of ISG - and yes there is more than enough chit chat (mine included). But that doesn't excuse lazy newbies from taking the time to do some basic reading before posting questions. ISG is no different than any other public board, except, IMHO guys here are more lazy and more prone to throw out a question before making even the slightest attempt to do a search.
And Thailand has the most number of threads so that there is an attempt by Jackson to index according to location, specific interests/topics, etc.....compare say the Taiwan section that has basically 5 or 6 threads - LOS has 20 plus!
Is the search function perfect, no! But I luv it when someone posts of the MP re soapies and maybe halfway down the thread, someone just reported re the same topic.....or when a simple search gets you 10 hits.
My favorite is when someone writes in January or Feb: I'm planning my first trip to Bkk for this coming August and want to come prepared. Where are the best places stunner, for massage parlors, blah blah. Please tell me cheapest hotel near the action, blah blah....
Now move this to one of my favorite forums, flyertalk.com which is PG rated and probably the most informative forum for travel. A newbie posts: I'm planning to visit Rome with my wife for this fall and want to know the best restaurants in town, the best sights to see....WTF - are we now their travel agent AND tour guide?
If you somehow found this ISG site, you must have put some effort, right? So why not go the extra step and do some homework?
My apologies for ranting and raving....a little jet lagged, horny and in a pissed off mood tonight in HK. Long story....for another country thread ;)
And I promise not to discuss this issue again (except for the occasional "RTFF").....enjoy the rest of the weekend, wherever you might be.
