I was sitting on the beach today between 7 AM-3 PM. Between 5-9 AM there are lots of people working out and you'll see many fit girls. When the regular people starts to fill up the beach the fit girls becomes rarity. Every year the average carioca becomes fatter and fatter. It seems like half of the population is overweight, and it didn't use to be like that.
The Brazilians have more money today and instead of eating rice, beans and fruits they eat fast food and over processed food. We went to EMPório 37 in Ipanema yesterday. I prefer EMPório as it was before. It was rougher, had charismatic waiters, the clients were a fun crowd of rock lovers and the regular girls were easy to pick up. Now EMPório 37 is too neat, has no longer a feeling of a rock bar and the clients are very different.
