From an average Hong Kong Chinese mongers point of view there is a hierachy or ranking of value of different nationalities with ranging from Japanese, Caucasians and local Hong Kong gals near the top and Thais and Philppinos near the bottom. On the 141 websites you can tell quite easily.

From memory, when I used a hotel service that used to be very famous and run by referral basis only Elaine's, Japanese were charged at a HK$200 premium to Korean gals. Whether they were real Koreans or not, I don't know.

The places that cater to the Japanese in Causewaybay are full of Koreans and Pinoys. Many of the Koreans can speak Japanese. I've never seen a Japanese girl in one ever. They are also expensive and in my opinion not very good. They are popular with the Japanese and many of the large Japanese firms in town have accounts with these places. I believe most of the business going on in them is covered by expense accounts. I have only been in them myself when doing business with the Japanese.

How much business do you think a place could do on a weekday in the afternoon? Wanchai is mainly a Gweilo mongering area. Hardly any Chinese go there to pull gals. The YS, saunas do business mainly cause there are Chinese customers not expats. I don't think you can compare to Manila, BKK cause they are mongering tourist destinations whereas you always hear guys moaning on this forum how expensive mongering in Wanchai is comparitively. Most people have to work in the afternoon and the gals would not get out of bed to accomodate the one lonesome stragler that has time to kill. In a money hungry place like Hong Kong, don't you think if it was economically viable, someone would do it?

Traffik has apparently reinstated the ladies drinks policy. Was there last night and saw the chits being passed. That's so funny how they try and slip it back surreptiously. I realize that Wan Chai will never be Bangkok or Manila as it is not a mongering destination but rather a nice playground for those of us who live here and people passing through on business.

I should have been more exact in what I wrote. I did not mean that places should be open in the afternoon but rather I think a club that started to have girls around 6:30 to 7:00 when people are getting off work could do OK. Obviouly not all the clubs could do this simulateously but if one was doing it they might do alright. My point with the saunas was their busiest time is right after work, not that the Chinese cliental would visit the Wan Chai discos if they had girls there right after work.

Don't see it happening. If you are really desparate for a Wanchai fix in the afternoon, most guys collect the digits of gals they meet at night and I have friends who have had cheaper deals from the gogo bars in the afternoon.

There is a time the gals do start early and that is when the navy is in town because there is the volume of business.
