That should be the new name of NEP.
Over the past few months, my last few visits to Nana have been depressing, but tonight's visit was the most depressing by far.
Could not agree with you more. I make the rounds in the Plaza from time to time when friends visit and it is usually awful. I can't think of a bar in there that I would recommend to any one. Erotica is dregs and lady boys. Chillies downstairs is freaks and lady boys. BillBoard has lost almost all their cute Jacuzzi girls and the ones on stage are tattoed silicone moms. The two Mandarin bars (the one above Mandarin is also Mandarin) are now chock full of Coyotes. Same goes for what used to be Fantasia but is now CandyLand 2. And for Candyland 1. Bubbles is all Coyotes. The small bars on the second floor have had no talent in 10 years. The new ones on the ground floor Underground and London Calling are dreadful and from what I saw it looks like the Underground has gone back to primarily being a Lady Boy bar. Skool Something is all coyotes. That pretty much leaves the Rainbow bars. And the good looking girls there prefer Japanese if they can get them. That is not to say that none of these bars have a few cute girls that can be barfined but the general perception one gets is that these are primarily mediocre girls at best. And their prices just keep rising. There are lots of theories as to where the good looking girls have gone but they sure are not at the gogos any more. And I don't know a guy who lives here that doesn't feel the same.

Den soi 12
Only a quick report as more wil come next week when have more time. The Den, stopped in to see it last week. I would guess 10 to 15 girls sitting on coaches inside. This was about 4 PM and they had opened at 3 PM. One or 2 customers at the bar talking with a girl. Reminds me more of a hostess bar from the past. I am sure the girls are available but didn't inquire. It was a little dark so can't tell quality If remember correctly standard drink prices 150 be. Might work with afternoon alternative. Don't know if have rooms or take out. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the update. I was hoping its a freelancer bar. A friend of mine gave me that idea.

There are a few pretty girls sprinkled among the many sub-standard ones. #67 got some of the most hideous silicone on the planet. If she were in america I'm sure she could sue doctor for $1,000,000 and win.

Banned from Thailand
I was booked at the Dawin. Had to change plans for work. The Dawin stated that I was booked for early bird promotion, and therefore unable to get a refund. I told them that I would post a negative review on every booking site that uses the Dawin. After hearing this, they gave me 100% refund.
Can a hotel like the Dawin affect immigration at the airport? I know hotel owners have power, but I really don't know what to do here. Will I get past Thai immigration after fighting and winning against a Thai hotel?

I agree with what's been said about the go gos. I guess I can imagine how first time visitors used to spending $20 on a 2 minute lapdance in their home countries might be wowed, but I don't understand how regular visitors of Southeast Asia could enjoy these places anymore with the attitudes, prices and looks. I very rarely visit nowadays and when I do I'm always sorely disappointed for all the reasons mentioned. I have a few go to girls and places still but the scene in general is shit. There are much better options.
In Nana, Suckers (used to be Lollipop) has a few tight spinners that are good to go and very occasionally Rainbow 2 will have a winner (and isn't as packed as its sister bars). Patpong has Electric Blue and the Strip. Still plenty of hotties in both of these bars and they're good to go too. Never been rejected or coyoted in either. The best thing around Cowboy is CH which doesn't say much about that area.
If you must visit a place in Pat Pong be careful and if it's up stairs, forget it.
I'm very sorry to hear what happened to you but it's well known that the upstairs bars in Pat Pong are rip off places. Every tourist guide book warns about that.
The sad endings involved the police showing up and threatening to jail the poor punter for refusing to pay a "legitimate" bill to guys getting badly beaten and then arrested by the police.
Even when people called the tourist police? Just wondering because they advise you to call the tourist police when you're in trouble.

" Numbers wise, attitude wise, cost wise, etc. It's all a small fraction of what it was 10 short years ago and compared to 15 years ago when I moved here; well, no comment could describe the magnitude of difference.
Is it better than most of our home countries when it comes to women? Sure it is. But I am a resident here and have been for over a decade and a half. How things are in the US or other Western nations have no bearing on me. For me and most other long term residents, the comparison is BKK now and BKK then. And there is no comparison. None at all.
Even when people called the tourist police? They involve someone with arrest authority arriving and matters get worse. I have no idea if that is the tourist police.

Will I get past Thai immigration
Hopefully not.
You book a non refundable room, then when you cancel you blackmail the hotel into giving you a refund. You hear about people threatening bad review if they don't get something they're not entitled to. Nothing but contempt for them.

You could easily sneak over the Laos or Cambodian border at night however and transit that way.

Tourist police
Even when people called the tourist police? Just wondering because they advise you to call the tourist police when you're in trouble.
The tourist police can actually be very helpful, at least in my experience, and will decide if the "real" police need to be involved. In my case I lost a bag containing amongst other things quite a sum of money and my passport. I was actually in a medium sized town outside Bangkok, and the hotel took me to the tourist police who took a report, took me to the normal police to see if there was anything else to be done and then drove me back to my hotel. The male officer also inquired on a number of occasions why I was travelling on my own, what did I think of thai women and whether I had a thai girlfriend. The women in the office were also very friendly making sure I had something to drink and some fruit to eat. They then insisted on taking a picture of me with them. Another satisfied customer trying to put a brave face on a lost passport. In the morning when I was checking out I had a message so say that they had recovered my bag, so I then spent a happy hour filling in another report, checking what had been taken (I got my passport back), and being flirted with by the female staff. Overall they made a pretty grim experience something I can smile about.

YOU booked the room knowing the criteria and now you threaten them with negative reviews because YOUR plans changed. You'll be seeing the inside of the Bangkok Hilton when you try to re-enter Thailand. Sure! (Yea right).
