There is still poon available in Bangkok for 300-600 baht ($10-$20) for a 20+ minute quickie in Thai low-end areas (Wong Wian 22, Khlong Tom), but the problem is that's nobody's idea of fun. Then, you can get an oily like Tulip for 2100 ($70) for 1. 5 h with very high service standards (PSE, A+, multiple pops).

The problem is that the Bangkok scene in general has soured, with scant selection (of mostly bad lookers), disappearing freelancers scene, and high asking prices. It's easy to get laid, the service can be decent occasionally, but it's just not really fun anymore.

I tried not to cherry-pick, but no matter how hard one tries it's difficult to do a completely apples-to-apples comparison of any two places. Paul asked if one could find a cheaper city than BKK with as much to offer. DF had a population of around 9 million, is very "cosmopolitan," has infrastructure and mass transit, a relatively robust economy, and available women. The $20 quickies are not my idea of fun, but they are an order of magnitude better than their Thai equivalent. Mexico's not noted for its massages, but pretty Latinas abound, both in bars and online, for prices very reasonable to what Thailand has become.

The food is different, but great. The weather, well, it's different. Not swampy like BKK, but much colder. There are better places in Mexico, certainly, but DF is "reasonably" equivalent to BKK, and cheaper.

I'm also not aware of any internationally well-known bars, clubs, or hotels in DF where working girls go to ply their trade. There could be a good MP scene, but I haven't investigated that yet. Of course, there is Tijuana, but Tijuana is no where on par with places like Bangkok, Rio de Janeiro, or Berlin (or even Frankfurt). Just looking at sheer choice and options alone, especially when you add in Pattaya and Phuket, Tijuana is a big loser on that count! I enjoyed Tijuana for what it is, but it can't compete favorably overall with with top-tier mongering destinations like Thailand, Brazil, and Germany! The one area where it seems to me that Mexico can compete is in the call girl scene. This is not what I prefer though. I want to go out to music, naked dancing, dining, drinking, and selecting my choices "live". I have always wondered though what the relationship between the two sections is. They almost seem like different businesses and I generally have ignored the fishbowl in the room to the left. Are they owned by the same person or group? I find works best for me to avoid the problems you mention, is to stick with the oilys and the soapies. Especially the soapies because talking with the chicas, I do not think the chicas are as free to move around as the oily girls. Possibly the chicas are under contract with the soapies whereas not so much with the oilys. I have deducted this with conversations with chicas working in both types of places. My point being the soapy chicas are more prone to wanting to have you leave happy and satisfied so you would not complain to the mamasan. There is no "dancing" in any meaningful sense (with some exceptions), there is very little nudity (again, there are exceptions but these days it's not the norm), and, as many others have pointed out, the pricing schemes, "sick friend" scams, etc. , make the scene far less enjoyable than it once was and, far too often, you don't get what you pay for. This is no longer the pre-Purachai era, when a go-go bar was a wild den of debauchery, with naked women everywhere.

As a long-time Thailand uber-fan, I must say that the level of service in Tijuana now tends to surpass that of BKK. And that's a sorry state of affairs, indeed.

But more to the point, the OP asked for a similar place to BKK. DF's scene is certainly not identical to BKK. No place is. Latins roll differently than Asians or Gringos. But the scene is certainly robust, overall the pricing structure is cheaper, DF has all the modern conveniences of a big city, as does BKK. So, the point is that there are "equivalents" to BKK. One may prefer Asia over Mexico, certainly. But the days of BKK being a premier sex tourist destination (I. E. Loads of pretty girls, good value for money, lots of fun, etc.) are coming to a close. You may not like it, but the freelancer / call girl scene seems to be taking over BKK, too.
