Taking the normal HK$1, 730 (or thereabouts) package at the ferry terminal in Hong Kong, I decided to give Rio Sauna a try, which had received a lot of glowing endorsements on these pages. I arrived there a little after 5pm on a Saturday, and, after sampling the steam room and taking a shower, was ready to meet my lady. Instead, I was led to the lounge area, where in addition to serving beverages and newspapers they try to shorten your wait by selling foot massage and pedicure. No thank you, I would like to meet my lady. But it wasn't to be so soon. It turns out that as in Sauna 18, there is an hourly lineup, preceded by a somewhat lame strip. And then, maybe 30-40 girls, all very pretty I must say, of the Chinese, Vietnamese and Russian variety. About a third of them were "models", pretty tall Chinese girls with fake breasts. "Oh no sir, a model is an extra MOP500" the facilitator told me. That left me still with a considerable choice, alas below the 8 points category. One of the other guests who had brought a friend was somewhat apologetic that only so few girls were on display (as a first timer, there were plenty for me) and enquired with the manager. Apparently you'the have to come again at 8 or 9pm for a bigger choice. Having other plans then, I chose a small Chinese girl (no 172), who rejoined me in my room 10 minutes later.

Instead of the usual bathtub, there is a "water table" with a about two inches of water, where you first lie down (uncomfortably) on your stomach, whilst the lady does various things to your back and lower parts you cannot see. She was surprised that I didn't like my legs to be licked, and unperturbed proceeded to lick my feet, at which time I definitely put a stop to it.

After some more frolicking on the water table we decamped to the bed, where the proceedings followed standard protocol: a BBJ with ice but no fire, and then the missionary position because the lady didn't like to ride. After 45 minutes she was eager to leave and so was I.

Rio is great if you like saunas, the facilities are great, the service very friendly, and the girls beautiful. Is it worth the money? If you have it, and like saunas, yes. Or go for the $750 no-choice-of-girl option. If you get one of the showgirls, you can't go wrong. But if you like to go in, and choose your angel right away, this is not a good place, so I don't think I will be back.

At about 8. 30pm I wanted to see what Darling I had on offer. It was breathtaking. Never have I seen so many girls there, or anywhere else in the world. I can't really say what they looked like, I felt like having stepped into the place with the compound eyes of an insect, multiplying the vision thousand fold. Before Kafkaesque panic set in, I quickly chose a girl standing behind me, a tall Chinese girl with legs that didn't end, with a tiny waist, and (it turned out) nicely shaped but probably fake breasts. Visited Macau many time before. But never the saunas. A friend suggested I give it a try. Great advice.

Went to Hongkong Macau harbour. Purchased package for HK$1, 550. Arrived at 18 around 4 PM. Changed and walked around. Being a Wednesday, not many patrons. Middle aged vietnamese lady gave me a good bath and rubdown. Then another private scrub (did not realize all this cost extra. But well worth it since I am a fan of bathing). This it was show time.

Of the 2 times I've been to 18, the girls there did DFK, I think most of them are willing to do that but if you don't like it, I don't think it will be a problem to tell them not to do it.

Also in Rio, the girl I had a long time ago earlier this year, #112 also did DFK.

So I think it's not that unusual to receive DFK

This place is hard to miss. Just walk out of the Holiday Inn main entrance, turn right and you will see it after about 50 meters. For the taxi, tell him Holiday Inn Hotel. Every taxi driver understands that (maybe not much more though).

Sorry Tiger 888! I only got back to D. G last night after 6 days back in Macau. The directions you were given are pretty much spot on. There's usually sum1 outside sitting behind a make-shift desk thingy, its a small desk. The only trick I guess if no1's there is when your facing the elevators go down the stairs to your left and soon as the Indonesion assistants spot you your home and soon a chick will be hosed;.) there's usually are black dude who's real kool who stands at the elevators to point you in da right d (erection). In 6 days I learn't a few more things that I wasn't aware of. In this particular place they have a secret separate room with about 10-12 double bunk beds you can go and sleep in FREE. They will even wake you at a certain time if you like. Bed was a bit hard, but 100% clean, pillows, doona all were as new. I was impressed because I don't know how many times I've paid on average $1500HKD at nite for a room at Star World or Landmark etc and then stayed out till 7-8am trying my luck in the casino's. What a waste that USED to be. Galaxy Casino/Waldo Hotel (opposite Sands)has a similar set-up but for $1700 you get a girl and a room o'nite, the girl is gone wen your done of course, she don't sleep with you although I've had 2 occasions where they were that tired they just passed out like I did. For times when money is down you can try the girls in the lane way behind the Holiday Inn, price negotiable but usually btw $3-$500 and I must say when your lucky or the timing is right you can collect a hot young Chinese thats open to suggestions. Only downside is there apartments SUCK! They won't go to your place.

A few more favourable reports of visits to already known joints, as happened late september:

I looked around upon arriving and I could not find transportation but then I realized the taxis were upstairs not downstairs at the Star Ferry Terminal. However, being desperate I caught the shuttle to Rio Hotel. All the mopeds and bikes reminded of a Caribbean island like Dominican Republic or Jamaica. Rio was a nice place and played some slots and several employees spoke perfect English there. In fact, there was one girl in the casino I wanted badly. I was going to check out the SPA there but I was told to explore the area before going to SPA to relax. The bell hop guy in the Rio gave me a map and some points of interest and a little card that had icons and places on it in Chinese and English so all I needed to do was point or circle the place I wanted to visit and give it to the Taxi Cab driver. I did. I did get lost walking and walking found a Mcdonalds talked to some people there. They told me to take a bus, I was scarred so I just walked being the only black dude in the area. Wow! I found the hotel strip and I found the race track but no girl wanted to talk to me. Maybe because I was wearing hip clothes? The girls on the race track in Lisboa were beautiful. I even sat at the restaurant hoping they would talk to me. They didn't. So, I knew I had to get over the Supreme Sauna at Fortuna. The moment I walked in I was treated like a king. No thank you), and I was offered the line of the girls. I settle for two girls from Vietnam. I spent about 45 minutes with them. I had two pops. I had everything on the menu except anal. BBBJ. It was amazing. No rush except at the end when they wanted me to shoot my stuff. I picked up one girls in the air. It was fun. All and all. I paid $223 US on my credit card, this included tips to the robe guy, tips to the manicure girls, tips to another person. I know in HKG tipping is not necessary so if It is the same thing in Macau let me know so I will not repeat this again if I'm back on the island. I paid for items either with HKG Dollars or Credit Cards. I hope I didn't get ripped off by using HKG Dollars. The cab drivers and places that I ate at only gave me back change in Macau currency. I will be back at Supreme Sauna. Please let me know if this was a good deal or if I was ripped off. I may try the Place in Rio next time. I also went down by the Holiday Inn back area. I didn't see any women. The only thing that sucked was because I traveled back late at night I had to buy a first class ticket on the ferry something like $250 HKG. WTF. Well I hope this was helpful and useful and not the same old same old. Maybe it can help visitors from the USA.

The girls walking the circuit at The Lisboa are mainland Chinese and they are a different breed from what you experienced in HKG and Macau. They don't aggresively solicit non-Asians imho. I got one once but I went up to her and made it very obvious I wanted her before she showed any interest. I think business was slow that day also.

It is possible the Lisboa girls might not want you due to prejudice or for fear you are too "big" for them. I can't say for sure--but others have been shut out there as well. Did you get ripped off for $223 (HKD1740)? Sort of depends on how many of the extras you signed up for (wash girl, legit massage, ear cleaning). I think they tend to run HKD100-150 per 25 minutes though I'm sure it varies from place to place. Since it sounds like you indulged yourself, your bill sounds about right. I don't think these places will try to rip people off though. They have too much to lose if they get a bad rep. I think they're making plenty of money as it is to worry about squeezing you for an extra hundred or two.

Rio as far as I know is the most expensive of the saunas. My personal fave is 18 in the Golden Dragon Hotel. Like it so much, I haven't really bothered trying many others, only Rio (same owners BTW). 18 tends to get a little crowded though.

If you go back, buy a package from Shun Tak center (if you're coming from HK). It'll save you the HKD300 for the ferry. Package for 18 is ~HKD1500. For Rio I think it was HKD1800. Package also includes one "extra", ie. legit massage, wash girl, etc.

I was in Macau 2 week ago did drop by th racetrack girls there is not as many and as good looking than few year ago and 500 mop for ST is not a good deal better spend a few rmb more and get the sauna experience.

I guess I will stick to Fortuna and maybe Golden Dragon 18. I'm glad I didn't check out the Rio place. Yes, I paid $223 US Dollars. I was actually shocked on all the free food. I just wished I could read the menu. I just stock with fruit, soda pop, and chicken wings. I also was thinking about checking out the Taiwan scence and Japan Scene but I think HKG and Macau and Thailand are probable the best for this American Black Man.
