I was in Belarus for 16 days and I will try to post a report later.

It was mentioned that registration must be done within 3 days but it is actually 5 days.

Also I found a bank where you can get USD cash if you have a foreign account with hard currency. It is Prior bank. The one I went to was here:

It is a good relief for those who needs more hard currency and did not bring enough. There is no guarantee however they will have USD cash. There is a ATM outside where you can get USD cash. If there are no USD in the ATM go inside the bank and make your withdrawal. Bring your passport! The official exchange rate is now around 5070 to the Belarus rouble. The last black exchange rate I got was 7250 for the USD. There is a quite official rumour the Blr Rouble will default in September to around 7000 to end the black market. Who knows what will happen? Russia has demanded conditions for their loan. Belarus has to build a new Nuclear power plant delivering 80% of the energy to Russia and leaving only 20% to be used in Belarus. Again, who knows what will happen. So, the currency crisis continues. It is true what some wrote that visiting Belarus in August will be hard because many girls leave on holiday, abroad or to relatives in Belarus. That also caused me some problems because some girls were just gone. However I had to adjust to my vacation period.

I am sorry to say so, and please do not take it as an insult, but you sound a bit unexperienced and naive. Please be careful and smart. Be street smart and I think you would be fine. Bargain a bit with taxi drivers but you must know a bit of Russian and sound smart.

September will be a good month. University students are back in town! Girls are more relaxed before the first exam period starts and hence can party more.

For clubs go to West World club if you are around 30 and not bad looking. Girls are younger (often 18. 22) and in general preferes men not too old, as in my case. I am 41 but I do have some EE experiences (not expert though) Some girls do prefer older "business men" as they provide hope and can give some comfort to a hard life. However flashing a western passport will get you nowhere. I am quite charming and open when going out. Bring some jokes for the girls and it is advisable to know at least some Russian. If not, your chioces will be limited. Try the club Madison for a more upscale club. Avoid Next. A high end club is Over Time (many girls favourite. When it comes to Minsk / Belarus I am naive however if you look at my posts for Kiev I have spent a considerable amount of time there (and I use to live in Budapest, Hungary) so that side of the globe is not foreign to me by any means. What is more, I have already gained a number of contact via the internet before my arrival so I have options already. I am in my mid-thirties but look younger and I dress extremely well. Like a "business man". Really, meeting women has never been an issure for me in the FSU, its just knowing where to go and where to avoid in Minsk.

Let me ask you, why don't you recommend the club 'Next'? Lastly, how expensive is it to just get my visa at Minsk-2? I have heard a variety of opinions on here and from other sources.

I did not check your previous posts at all, so perhaps I am wrong. Just wated to give some advice. I think you will be fine. Interesting enough, I have been in Budapest quite many times. I have not explored Hungary to the full yet, but has had nice GF's there. Quite kinky ones. Again, it takes a bit work and time. Hungarian girls are among the best in Europe. No suprise why many porn models are from Hungary, I believe. Also good wine and food in Hungary. Try the reds and whites made by Wekler. They can be bought for around 1200-1300 forints in Tesco In Budapest. Hungary has more to offer regarding girls. Still In Budapest it is a bit hard. Many new comers has been fooled by easy traps in Budpest. A lot of infamous scams going on or at least used to be. I have not fallen for them, quite often at Vaci Utca. (If you know some Hungarian people they can confirm that Hungary is partly a mafia country as well)

You can get a Visa at the airport only if there is no Belarus embassy in your country. Cost is usually fair. I did that a few years ago but since then regulations changed and as my country has a Belarus embassy that option is not valid anymore. You still need an invitation voucher from a Belarus approved travel agency in order to get the visa. That will set you back another USD 30 apart from the cost of the Visa.

Why not club Next? It is a club filled with some rich elite or those pretending to be. That goes for the girls as well. Have been there twice and it is filled with hookers and Arabs. Not my kind of clientele at all. I prefer clubs where mostly "normal girls" go. Some say it has changed for the better, but I have no confirmation. Two negatives says it is a No No for me. For those who wish, please visit the club.

I was in Minsk more than a dozen of times and will be staying here until the end of September. Have been to virtually every club in this city."Next" is indeed a rather expensive club, packed with (mostly turkish and arab) foreigners who don't know any better place to go.

After several weeks deliberating between a return trip to Kiev or a new adventure in Minsk, I decided upon the ladder and will arrive next week via Frankfurt. It wasn't an easy decision as I had a great experience and a lot of luck with women in Kiev last summer. However, I am much more prepared in going to Minsk then I was for Kiev and I'm certain I will enjoy some degree of success there. So, I am hoping for no shortage of action. I have been living in Vilnius for 4 years now and the place is dead. You find freebies pretending you are looking for a serious relationship and super over priced hookers.
