If you don't mind women over about 30 years of age, it is easy. Under thirty only a very few are willing, but among the over thirties on the beach it is maybe 10%. Probably similar on Soi 6, and it is possible to find it in other bars though obviously it is rare.

For those of you in or going to be in Pattaya, in regards to the topic of ATM'S charges of 150 baht for foreign debit and credit cards holders. It has already been mentioned that the following Banks are not charging the fee. Here are some locations of those Banks if you happen to be within the area and what to save 150 baht per withdraw and put it towards a beer to two.

Aeon ATM, One located on the main level of Carrefour but it has been OFF-LINE FOR 2 WEEKS NOW. There is also a Aeon Branch and a bunch of machines at Tesco, just off Pattaya Nua Rd.

Government Bank ATM: ( to some Thai's this is consider the Kings Bank ) Red but close to pink color machine. One located upstairs in Carrefour, just outside the super market.

UOB ATM, always located next to their Money Exchange Booth:

One located on 2rd, on left hand side right after Soi 13/3, One located on Beach Rd, left hand side right after Mike department store just before Soi 12.

One located on Soi 13/2 near Beach Rd. across from Pizza Hut.

It should be reminded that whether you get charge or not might be dependent on what country your card is issued!

Since the last report of ATM'S, much has changed! Consistently now the Bank of Auydhya ( yellow machine ) is charging!

The Thai Government Bank ( pink machine ) has been reported by many Expats living here that some are starting to charge. Slowly in time pretty consistent with how things work here is that all will be charging soon.

UOB, bank... I haven't use these machine lately but heard through long term Expats that they are now charging.

Aeon Bank, This is a Japanese bank I heard, very few machines if any, Tesco South, it was reported that the machine was removed. The machine at Carrefour, on Pattaya Klang, lower level towards the bathroom has been out of order for months. So that leaves the only Branch at Tesco North!

Personal experience whether the PINK Machines charges or not, they seem to give the best rate. Example: USD... The rate on the website was 34.02, after a withdraw from the " PINK " when back and did the exchange rate they gave me a rate of 33.96. Compare to what the others were doing like Rate 34.02, after withdraw, I get a rate like 32.45 along with the 150 baht charge.

Recently I have found the selection on the Beach enormously depleted. The old favorites not to be found - probably in the monkey house as is becoming more and more common. Rather like home - find a good service streetwalker and the chance of finding her again next time is very small.

Lacking any known threeholers I took one who promised this, though I was very doubtful of her veracity. These sorts of things happen with about 10% or so of girls from the Beach. Its just part of the risk of taking new girls. Just be warned, they're as bad as ever, and probably worse. If you wish to avoid the girl mentioned, she looks rather like a frog (haha, that doesn't narrow it down much eh?)

We often hear upon this forum that the Subcontinental gentlemen surprise these girls with several men in the room, all to fuck for the price of one. Now I walk around with something like 17,000 baht on me - I honestly feel a strong urge to leave Pattaya, as this doesn't seem safe (speaking of which I don't trust safes either).

I was in pattaya just begining of the year and all the ATM I took money out of charged me a fee, although I do remember most charge 150b and a few was only 100b, but regardless they all had a fee.

Also, these fees are only for foreign cards and not the local cards.

Some confusion in this thread about ATM charges. I'll try to straighten things out.

There are several different types of charges involved in using a foreign ATM card in Thailand. The 150-baht charge is applied by the Thai bank that owns the ATM machine. It doesn't matter which foreign bank issued the card or how much you're withdrawing, you will be charged 150 baht.

Then there are charges your bank will impose. One is called a foreign transaction fee and can amount to 5% of the transaction (and even more in some cases), but is often 3% - it depends on which bank issued the card. Finally, there is a 1% fee that the Cirrus (Visa) and Maestro (MasterCard) systems put on foreign transactions. Most often, you'll end up paying a total of 5% of the transaction in fees for the convenience of using a Thai ATM machine.

That means if you withdraw a total total equivalent to US$2,000 during a two-week trip to Thailand, it will cost you US$100 in fees. If you use a credit card to make cash withdrawals, it will cost you even more, as there is an additional fee of 3% or more.

If you visit Thailand regularly, the best idea is to open a Thai bank account so you can use a Thai ATM card. Once you have such an account, you can either wire money to the account before you depart you home country, or bring traveler's cheques/cash to convert to baht and deposit in the account. That way,you have the convenience of using an ATM card but none of the extra expense of using a foreign ATM card.

It's not the easiest thing in the world to open a Thai bank account. I tried that last November, I think in Siam Bank and the woman in the bank asked me to show my work permit before i could get an account.
