Some girls come on really strong and tell you it's going to be a crazy experience and try to get your riled up and go upstairs immediately. Then in the room all that energy dissipates and the experience is just meh and awkward. So, you stick it out a while and try to see if that energy is just part of the sales pitch or her natural disposition, and also ask her some questions about what she likes to and is willing to do. 9/10 when I chose to go to the room with a new girl in 5 minutes, I have always been disappointed.

I'm currently looking at accommodations for an April trip and targeting the Ipanema / Leblon area plus maybe the border area between Ipanema and Copa since those are suppose to be safe areas. I know that the closer we get to the beach, the safer it is so my question for now is just how far inland should I place a limit -- is 3-4 blocks inland from the beach too deep towards sketchy areas?
Since my first trip will likely be just a tour of the main termas plus maybe 1-2 clinicas / prives, I don't really need a guest friendly hotel or Airbnb unless I need to invite one of the girls I like from these outlets back to my room on a Sunday since everything is closed.
Another question is regarding flight arrivals as I noticed that both Copa and Avianca have late arrivals into Rio at around 12:30 am. Is this hour going to be an issue getting Ubers from the airport that late at night? I realize that late check in to Airbnbs might be an issue but hotels should be okay.

Safety wise, it's generally safe and classy, lots of nice restaurants, although favela Vidigal is there too, right across from Sheraton Grand. Not a problem during the day, though. I would stay in Ipanema on the border of Aproador. Reasonably safe and closer to all spots than Leblon.
On a late arrival in Rio, I'd go with the official taxi stand. No data points to support this, but again, if safety is a concern, that would feel safer to me.
