I have been in Bangkok since January 18 with a ten day visit to Cambodia included within this time frame. It was my first visit here and tried as many different type options as I could. These include a SW in front of Nana Plaza (surprisingly pretty good), two sessions at the Den on Soi 12 (also, very good), two massage places highly recommended on the board in Snow White and Addict (just average), and numerous encounters at Bangkok Beat club on Soi 7/1 (most very good to excellent). I wrote FR on all these experiences so will not repeat them here, suffice to say that for the most part I was pleased with my first time visit to Bangkok.

The one thing I did not do was barfine a girl from the go-go's. I just fundamentally object to the high cost of the bar fine, the girls fees, the short time gambit, costs of drinks for myself and the LD. I could go on and on about this. However, on one occassion I invited a young nubile from either Billboard or Bubbles in NEP to come to my apartment after they closed at 2 am but ended up giving her the boot when it became apparent she was not prepared to provide even the basic level of services. No cost there though she gave me a friendly Hello, when I ran into her a few days later.

So this leads me to my final evaluation of the go-go's. Last Monday, albeit a holiday, I went to Sharks on Soi Cowboy with a Bangkok veteran of twenty plus years. It was slim picking in there and, in fact, there was only one girl I had an interest. A slim dark haired and deeply dark skinned nypmphette. She exchanged a smile with me but then some guy came in and she quickly went over to him. After sitting with him for a while, and it was obvious they knew each other, he left and she returned to the stage. Being a bit dubious, I asked to see some photos of the shop which she readily produced. She was the first girl I met in there who appeared to have a regular job as the rest either worked in a professed 'spa' or were unemployed, unless you count hanging out as a FL at Bangkok Beat as a job. Thinking that this would be a good night, I ended up quite disappointed in her service level. In fact, after we finished she claimed it had been an undetermined amount of time since her last boom boom or at least that was her excuse for her woeful performance. However, I blew it by not asking all the right questions in the beginning.

These questions, at least for me, should be de regueur: do you kiss, allow DATY, and BJ. I only asked the first question and neglected to ask the others, which turned out to be NO to both but way to late to adjust course. Basically, by not asking these questions and making certain assumptions, certain girls will use this as an excuse when it becomes apparent these treats are not on their menu.

So I returned the next night and had a bit of a bad attitude. I did not want to finish my visit with another bad encounter, which began to color my judgement. In fact, the evening was flying by as I hemmed and hawed about who to select though there was a multitude of tasty options. Overthinking, some would say. Standing off in the corner by my lonesome and almost resigned to leaving solo, all of a sudden a little spinner appeared and before you could say 'Bingo', we had arranged our LT evening. I think she wanted 2500 bt initially, which I rejected, but eventually we compromised on 2000 bt and she agreed to stay until nine in the morning. I asked her the above 'menu' questions whereupon she stopped me and said 'I will do whatever you want but you can't have my ass. ' LOL. And she said this in quite good English.

It went quite well. She was very enthusiastic and fun and stayed until 9 am as agreed. In fact, it was so good, I told her that I would take her to Ko Samui with me but since I was leaving later that day, she could not rearrange her schedule in time. Now that I am in Ko Samui, it was probably just as well given my first few nights here. Well, that FR will be in a different thread.

You are not in a position to really evaluate bars, bar girls, etc. Based on a visit to Sharks on a holiday with poor attendance.

You should just consider it a not very exciting experience.

Personally I like bars where girls do not hassle me until I decide I am interested in one and attract her attention.

The Sharks line up was probably shit on that day. Bar girls vary tremendously in performance. There are some good ones and there are lots of bad ones. Just like you had varied experiences with girls in general.

I think Sharks is full of plastic robot girls these days however its a few months since I last went in there. The girls were more interested in Japanese customers was my impression.

Not all bars are like that. If you don't the bar system, that is fine, and many don't. I put up with it, because I am seeing a range of better looking girls than on an oily MP, I like to see the whole body naked first, and I have lots of rime to evaluate girls to see if I really like them. Bangkok beat is a good option but of course a fairly limited set of girls and can't see them naked first. Plus have to make sure don't pick a ladyboy. LOL.

What budget you have is also a big factor. Time and quality of looks are more important to me than cost. Others have abundant time but less money to spend and many are more concerned about PSE than a pretty face.

I just spent two days in Singapore. Everything is very expensive. Guys should be thankful Bangkok is so much cheaper. LOL

I aware of certain girls working in Tilac that I find quite pretty. Mint is just one but she is a bit irregular. SW has less but there a small number of pretty ones.

Top girl in SW I see from time to time when her very busy schedule permits. Some will say she is not pretty only due to skin colour bias.

So it is more about luck of attending bars at the right time. Line ups vary a lot.

Well, I used my night at Sharks as an example of several other different visits to other go go's including Doll House and a whole range of other bars in NEP over a period of a few months. Generally speaking that was the overall impression I had, whatever night I went, which were girls who were distantly prancing about and going through the motion on stage. And yes, the only time they do perk up is when they see a group or solo Japanese guy enter. Those guys are probably more responsible for raising the prices then any other factors.

As far as prices in go go's, I find it too expensive, though I could afford it, but based on the performance levels I hear about on the board and from friends gives me the appearance that the girls are not worth what they charge.
