I am going to Rio in one week and have couple questions about the city.

I was in SP several times and know, that there are some areas, like Centro, which are dangerous even during the day.

What about Centro and Santa Teresa districts in Rio?

Does they relatively safe to walk in the evening or early night?

I beg to differ. Monte Carlo is a trap, not worth even the entry fee. Small area with a small line up of girls, where most of them are average quality, been there a couple of times and I can't count the number of times, I saw a girl I could rate an 8. Also I may have gone at a bad time as well but my one trip to Centaurus was worse than my Monte Carlo visits, the talent there was very disappointed. This area is a big draw for Brazilian nightlife, very crowded but as others have said you need to stay aware of your surroundings if they detect you as an easy mark.
