Looks like some folks might be mixing up Tijuca with Barra da Tijuca. Tijuca is a non-touristy neighborhood in the interior of the city with no beaches while Barra da Tijuca ("Barra") is a terrific upscale beach neighborhood in the western part of Rio.

It was my first time in Brazil. I really wanted to experience Rio during NYE and I did. I went there after Colombia. Lots to cover in this post.

I. The journey and the invasion of privacy.

In Mid December I decided to do a South American Adventure. I had always wanted to experience a mini summer vacation south of the equator and monger of course (weather in Los Angeles was shit those two weeks). Because I travel on points my itinerary gets weird sometimes.

The original plan was LAX-SJD-PTY-MDE- Some how to -GIG.

You could go from MDE to GIG in about 6 hours but its not lie flat. To each his own. Oh and keep in mind US Citizens Require a VIsa for Brazil. This was stressful but I Was able to do it online in Colombia in time.

II. Vagabundo.

Vagabundo likes to type in the 3rd person. I will do so here as well since it is fun.

The Toastmonger arrived in Rio on Dec 26th. Got a nice upgrade at the Hilton barra. This is a nice hotel which is close to a mall that has ATM access until 10 pm. The mall has hot civilians walking around. There is an ATM at the hotels- however it will FK you with a $40 USD fee to get $300. Don't do it.

Right away the Toastmonger fired up Seeking and eventually found a sexy girl named pocohnatas. Toastmonger had her over for $R800 (just under $200) for a few hours. This is a bad price by the Vagabundo standard but hey- it was one of my first lays.

Toastmonger sessioned there for under $400 R all in which was about $75. The entry fee was reasonable. Even it being just after the holidays there was decent talent. We went back here a few times. The talent here is good.

We also checked out Paris Cafe another night which was also good. Toastmonger met Melissa there. Taller sexy blanca garota with a nice ass. Unfortionately she didn't do BBJ that time but that changed later. Again cost was under $R400. Talent here is good.

It is also strategically located near the classico beach club. Its about 15 minutes past Vagabundos place but uber black is cheap so it was fine. This hotel is chica friendly.

Funny enough FIFA was there in early January and large crowd of Colombianas from MDE showed up there as well at the hyatt. It was an ass parade at breakfast daily.

Adventures to Centro with Vagabundo:

Being the mensch that he is Vagabundo showed me around centro.

Emporioum.

We got a chance to visit Solarium and Centarus. Both had higher quality women than centro with Centarus taking the cake. The toastmonger would say centarus is closest to FKK clubs in Europe. Villa Mamosa and Mosiaco.

The toastmonger felt safe there because he was with Vagabundo. But villa mamosa just isn't the Toastmongers vibe. In the toastmongers opinion it rivaled figurora blvd in LOS Angeles. A no go for the Toastmonger.

Moisaco however had some cuties here and there. The Toastmonger sessioned there for under $R400. Stick to the basic room in all these venues so that you don't get ripped off. The toastmonger did get a girl from Mosiaco for around are $800 for the whole day. She was ok. The concubine did a much better job with the BBJ.

TLDR. Vagabundo is an all around great guy to hang with in Rio. Some people talk shit and rave about Scandallio in SP. You know what? Toastmonger liked Rio because the beach is right there. Hot women in bikinis everywhere and the fun vibe. Visiting Sao Palo for just 2 venues seems stupid. Go to Rio, stay in Barra and hire Vagabundo- payment via all you can eat sushi at Temakeri. You'll have a good time. The Toastomongers only regret is not making it to 4 x 4.

The funny thing is Vagabundo admitted that the Toastmonger is probably the only monger that's been bigger than he is. So there was no fear of getting jumped between the two of us, the only place where we would be easy targets would be a gym.

An interesting article about the night life in Zona Sul in the "old days". Help, Hippopotamus, Bunker, Scala, Baronetti, Mariuzinn, Bombar, Cozumel, Guapo Loco, Resumo the Ópera, Trash and Maxims. I liked all of these boates but one of my favourites was Maxims, located in the top of the Rio Sul tower. I've attached some photos of a menu from Maxims in 1993.

A shame that the nightlife in Zona Sul today is just a shadow of what it used to be.

In the basement of the Meridian now the Hilton was a club called Regines and on the side door of the Rio Othon Palace was a club called Crocodile, was small but good.
