The major issue with Centaurus is not even cost and a decline in quality, its that the terma has become a breeding ground for hyenas who can't take no for an answer. Its a nuisance if you just want to have a few drinks with friends before you make a decision on something, and you need to get downright nasty with some of these women. It is not pleasant at all. To compare the women in Centaurus, let alone the club itself to Scandallo is so ridiculous I have to think that Vagabundo has not even been into Scandallo and has been scared away by the price. Its night and day. Centaurus would struggle to even crack the top 10 boates in Sao Paulo, let alone being on par with Scandallo. Even the regular rooms are nice, but suites are truly awesome. And booking a suite gives you access to the (excellent) lounge. Same for booking a club room. And yes, I believe the lounge is worth it.

The pool is fantastic, and the pool service prices are reasonable. The beach across the road is never full. The sushi restaurant is out of this world (I like it better than Leblon Sushi), but pricey.

Next to the Pesceiro restaurant there is an Argentinian steak house. They will bring you the meats before cooking so you can choose.

That said, Hyatt is a resort. I wouldn't stay there for the duration of my stay. Too far away from everything, so 3-4 days is plenty. This would be a great "vacation" spot to wife up with if you're not into traveling to Buzios or Angra. The place is also guest-friendly as long as they aren't obvious hoars or you don't parade them at the pool if they are. It's a family hotel after all.
