An Opinion and that's all, one opinion.
Eloquently spoken Syzygies. Had a little too much Prague wine when I wrote my post. But the fact remains that if the guy says something not too honest in the heat of the moment, that's his business. I'm sure these ladies heard it all before. The one thing I also know is that very few are doing what they do because they love to have sex with strange men. Having been married to a wonderful kind SW, and having known several of her friends (associates), I have a little insight. They become very good actresses as they want to increase their income. The mongers all talk of their sexual conquests with these ladies, the ladies talk about their financial conquests with the customer. Believe me, they could easily live without the sex if they had the money. My lady was so happy to quit, that she eventually cut all contact with any friends she had in the business and even long time friends who just knew of her work. She didn't even want to go out anywhere that her customers took her to in the past. Not because she was afraid to be recognized, but because it made her think about her past. Nobody would have recognized her I'm sure of that. She was good at what she did, but she wanted nothing to do with it or to be reminded of it till the day she passed away. She was ashamed of what she felt she had to do to help her family. When ever she thought about it, she would tell me how dirty she felt and that she was a very bad person. Yet she was actually an angel and always wanted to help people. For your information, I met her at the business she started while working at an escort agency. Our first date, she told me everything because she wanted to be honest with me right from the start. Yes I do use the services of ladies now as I do not want to date or marry again. I know that makes me a hypocrite as well, but I will not fool myself to believe that it is something more than what it is. Nor will I disrespect them by having them do things that are degrading. In fact many times I just want the company. It actually makes me laugh when these guys brag about what they did and how much the ladies loved it. Believe me, if you took longer than 5 minutes, you were not their favorite customer.
You have 9 post and you're an expert on hookers. Well excuse me if I don't regard your opinion too highly because it is a very narrow minded one. You should be working w / the god squad and spread more guilt around, you did a pretty good job here. These are the facts, ladies can sell their bodies if they so choose. They can work in sweat shop for little to nothing 7 days a week, they can work in a department store for peanuts, or a million other low paying jobs. Some choose to be bargirls, freelancers, etc and they all have different opinions about their business, some like it, some hate it and the many in between that don't know what they want. Some will do very well, some will do okay and some will quit right away because it is too hard.
There is not only one scenario as you have stated in you sermon.
If tomorrow the USA legalized prostitution there would be a stampede to the market place by women of all means. This is called, capitalism, a free form of it and not the one in use in the USA and other self righteous religious countries. In the USA the individual is not in control of his or her body. Why? Just because the authorities think less harm will be done by protecting and preventing women from going into this line of work. In the USA we are not free, we're brain washed to think so but in practice it is not so.
Anyway, I could go on and on. I would not monger if I felt the ladies were hurting themselves. The truth that I objectively found is that it's like any other job and some like it and some don't. The ones who don't like it should change jobs and face whatever reality life has dealt them. If you feel sorry for the hookers then don't partake. I appreciate them and their courage, I respect them and when I am w / good people I treat them well and support their way of life.
Working people don't need or deserve our pity.
