When I was growing up in Europe, cupping was popularly done by a nonsexual masseuse in public Finnish saunas. In public view. Here is a wikipedia entry that may explain the procedure:

On a personal note, I do not believe that these marks are a result of Cupping! The marks are too small, too define in shape and consistent color and too close together. Also as 1Ball noted there are more of these marks in other areas that cupping can't be done. I have had cupping and results look more like bruises also I don't think you can do cupping with a bottle?

The marks are far too regular and are probably some sort of cupping or other procedure.
