I've been following (trying to, at least) this forum and absorbing as much info as I can. But I get the impression that prices there are higher than in Medellíand or Tijuana. So the question on the drawing board is: is it worth flying that far to pay more?
Our other options are the Dominican Republic, or we could fly the same distance to Berlin.
Would you mind sharing your experience on why São Paulo is better and worth doing? Also, what are the average prices?

Conversely, Rio is a super tourist destination.
The lady prices might be a little higher than HK in Tijuana, but if you can afford the flight to Rio, not a big deal. I would stay in Copacabana. Maybe a few nights in a beachfront hotel, then get a condo rental near the beach.

Growing up, every year my parents would take me to Daytona Beach or Panama City Beach in Florida, where these days a room may set you back $100 per day. Some years back, me and my girlfriend at the time went to Maldives where we paid $1000 per day for a room. Do you think it was worth flying that far to pay ten times more?

The point I'm trying to explore is about VFM (value for money) and whether the long travel time is worth it for just mongering.
This is a group trip, so we're all discussing pros and cons—hence why I'm trying to validate my point of highlighting Brazil over the other options.
