Rio Bob's mention of Deu la deu vinhos is in central Copa and has excellent selection. Good cachaça is not flavored, that's like USA coffee polluted with artificial syrups for people with no taste buds. Ugh. Mixing single malts with Red Bull? The good stuff is fairly scattered, but there are well priced farmers markets and boutique places in Rio and outskirts and lots of lovely places and national parks. Copa is indeed a bit of a sewer, however there are two excellent seafood places nearby such as Caranguejo at are. Barat Ribeiro 771 just near the Cantagalo metro on the line that takes you out to Barra to avoid the traffic choke points.
