I stayed at San Peter as well so I am familiar where the place is. I walked by it several times but never saw anything I would be interested in. I did walk by with one of my FB girlfriends and bought reefer from one of the guys that stands on that corner trying to lure people in

The San Peter apartments in Laureles are great (just off of La 70 at Calle 41 a). They are in a good location, around a lot of restaurants, nice Exito grocery store nearby and some discotecas. They are very chica friendly. When a chica comes and you do not go down to meet them, the front desk calls you to confirm. And they call when she leaved asking are things okay and if she good to leave.

Those who know me know that I love staying in Laureles rather than the Poblado area. To say I love Laureles is an understatement.

I like to spent most of my daytime exploring Medellin on foot and bike, participating in various tours and activities. I like to save my chicas activities for the night and morning.

Now on to the chicas:

Early Tuesday morning (immediately after I unpacked my stuff after my arrival).

Additionally, due to the strength of the US dollar against the pesos, this vacation is turning out to be real economical as I have not spent not even half the amount of money that I have expected to spend here. Uber rides are dirt cheap. And the pesos that the chicas want for their services are now lower than ALL famous mongering places on this side of the globe (maybe lower than Thailand and the PI as well).

This is going to be a Medellin vacay for the ages.

Granted, I am also not an old man with pure money and all wrinkles. I think chicas charge different prices for different people. Just like how they work in different venues with different prices.

My M. O. Is I try to get some good chemistry then never talk about money. This is what I do 90% of the time, and then I pay what I want to pay. If you want to lock-it-down before-hand, it helps to have some fun Spanish, not just Spanish, by playful, flirty Spanish. I'm 62 years old. Balding and could lose a few pounds and have no issues with the girls. Yes I am fluent in Spanish. Often I just go out and have dinner or watch a movie with them. Makes a difference knowing the language

Poblado and cheap purchase are like oil and water. I have no advice for you there.

You can find cheap musical instruments in the pawn shops calle 54 west of Parque Bolivar and Palace. At the western end of calle 54 you will run into the street vendors lined up north of Plaza Botero all the way to the Prado metro station. It's probably best to just stick to the pawn shops. Make your purchase by 4 pm and you will have a couple of hours to grab a taxi or uber to get back to El Poblado before dark. If you want to check out girls or casas you should start around noon to leave time for your shopping.

Punto de Encuentro is owned by the same guy who owns Yakuza. He has a bunch of girls on call who also work facebook. He keeps pictures of them his phone he will whatsapp to you. He also has a couple of rooms at the bar. He's a good guy. Don't let the touts put you off, the bar is pretty chill.

And I would advise against staying there and drinking. The owner Danny is known for ripping gringos off, encouraging his bartenders to charge more for gringos. Amazing what a drink and few lines with the bartenders and what they share. It's 25 mil to take the girls out the bar and most are not putas so you will end up wasting money. Just negotiate the terms beforehand and don't stay in the bar too long. Or get the girls number so you don't have to pay the 25 mil.

I'm a newbie to Medellin with low intermediate Spanish & will be making my way from the 6th of Nov to the 20th, flight is already booked but I'm still unsure about whether to book a hotel in El Centro or Laureles. Anybody from this site going to be there during those dates?

If you're a newbie, I suggest Laureles instead of El Centro. San Peter airbnb is better than hotel IMHO.

None mention money but when I push them for it, I am receiving high quotes such as 300,000. Which is still a deal by US standards but I am not about to start raising prices here!

Newbie here. I'm going to Medellin for the first time over the Christmas break and thinking about staying at the Mansion. Their prices are a bit higher than hotels and apartments. Can anyone tell me how the Mansion is? I've been to the Del Rey and Sportsman Lodge in San Jose, CR many times. Is it anything like that and do they charge you a chica fee? Thanks in advance and happy mongering.
