Day time in Copa / Ipanema / Leblon
Hello, my third time in Rio coming in a month.
I read about 100 pages, and spent a lot of time here.
Is it true that the only day time place with a presentation is Eden in the Copa / Leblon / Ipanema areas?
I prefer day time (safer) and I prefer to see a presentation so I can choose who I like. Also prefer those 3 neighborhoods as that's where I live, and its closer.
Eden is where I spent most of my visits.
I see a few centro places, any in particular that have a wide selection? Any other places in Copa / leb / IPA?
Don't be a Tourist, Be a Traveler
That's up to each person and their satisfaction in whether or not to tip. Don't treat girls like mere merchandise.
Do what you are like, I know you will, but all the OP is saying is "don't spoil the market. Behave like the local customers, some of whom have more money than you. This has nothing to do with treating the girls like "merchandise".
Maybe you can remember the "Prime Directive ("Starfleet General Order 1") ie the "non-interference directive" in Star Trek that prohibited its members from interfering with the natural development of alien civilizations. Applying this idea to traveling among different cultures means respecting these cultures and in the current context it means, don't be an ugly tourist when you travel. Leave no wake.
You may think my this is just foolishness or some form of cheap charlie-ism, but it is not. RJ and SP are still mostly unspoiled. I have seen too many once great destinations ruined by over touristration and by foreigner travelers violating the "non-interference rule". AC and Sabang in the PI are the most glaring examples, but there a plenty of others as well including Pattaya, Phuket, and even BKK. So don't do it. The girls still do not expect tips from their clients. But if horny tourists violate local customs en masse, it won't be long before the girls start saying "tip sir, tip sir for" for nothing like they do in the places I just mentioned above.
Rant over.
