For me, the ideal location is close to BTS and MRT junction, so I can get to vincinities of MPs quickly and taxi or motorcycle the remainder where necessary. I only visit Nana Plaza on rare occasions.

Forgot to mention that I believe they wanted a lot of extra to use 24 hour internet back then (a few years ago). Would have made it very pricey.

Just a quick addition to the Hotels thread. I stayed at the hotel last week and had a girl visit me while there. The elevator does not require a key card for the WG to come up to the room. The Lobby staff will ask for a I'd from Thai girls if you are not physically with them, but you can avoid that by telling them that she is indeed your guest and then nothing is required. No money or anything.

Personally I think the Hotel is just looking after our safety, and if I did not actually know the girl who came to visit me (Met her last year in Hongkong and has become a regular) I would have appreciated the gesture even more.

But most importantly no extra charges and they even comped her Breakfast with me.

Anyone stay at the Tune hotel at soi 14 near Asok just open a few month ago look like a no thrill chain motel, room look small and clean Agoda offering promo room for 17 USD a night.

Ok so I decided I'd rather stay very near cowboy. Does anyone know if the 2999 mystery deal in November on wotif is the GM? How do the two compare?

Aren't you the bloke that said you were not going to tell the staff what to do because that is what you paid managers to do? So you tip each staff upon arrival to ensure they do what they are paid to do in the first place? They must think you are a pigeon.

Extra towels, extra freebies. And getting your room cleaned outside the normal schedule.

Last time I went to the breakfast room few minutes past the closure time and staff was already removing everything. The head waiter has been kind to bring different plates with each of everything so I could still eat. Doesn't happen often.

And the M. G. Has one of the best lunch buffet deals around. Have to get there early though.

Try it, you'll like it. I can't remember the exact price but it was relatively cheap and had a very large variety of food. The proof was that it was always full of locals from offices in the area. Lots of cute girls from banks. They had an Australian chef. Of course I haven't been there for a year or so, so maybe things aren't as good now as then. Although I'm trying to lose weight on this trip, I'll make the sacrifice and check it out since I'm staying at the higher priced alternative down the soi.

I have stayed at the GM a number of times when their was a WOTIF Mystery deal (special thanks to the now disappeared BARKO for his help). I seriously doubt the one you refer to is the GM. In the past the Mystery deal always referred to the hotel being close to BTS AND MTR (the subway) (which it is). I've never stayed at the Jasmine Hotel to give you a comparison!

Whilst the BBQ dinner buffett runs at 600/660 (I can't recall now) , including one drink (local beer draft glass or a glass of wine). If the lunch / dinner buffets are at the same level of hte brakfast, I can say it is very acceptable. Ideal for the lazy ones not willing to go out for lunch after a night out.

The Buffet I like to go to is the Brunch at SGS; Yes it's expensive (2, 700 thb) but the food is of great Quality, they have fresh imported Duck Liver (seared in front of you) and imported Meat and cheeses (not the tasteless Aussie or Danish versions). Oh, and unlimited Booze too.

If you want a great meal, avoid Buffets.

On the Other hand, the Chinese Restaurant at the JW soi 2 offers an "All you can eat" DimSum "a la carte" for 900 thb. The Dim Sum are Big and great quality.
