I was a member for a couple of years, and if I remember correctly, it was about 30,000 baht a year for the membership fee. But I considered it worth the money. I got X number of bottles of Jack Daniels and X number of bar fines. I don't remember how many, but it was generous.

Here is how I justified my membership: 30,000/12 = 2,500 baht a month. I could go into the Pegasus anytime I wanted, stay as long as I wanted and drink all I wanted for free, look at the girls at my leisure, pick the one I fancied and either take her upstairs or home with me. The best thing about the Pegasus is that I didn't have to fight off the girls always wanting to sit next to me telling them how much they loved me, what a hansome man I was, where did I come from, how long you stay Bangkok, etc, etc, etc... Unlike Soi 33 I didn't have to worry about them padding my bill because there never was one. Just a couple hundred baht for the tips for the bartenders, 20 for the men's room attendent and fifty for the doorman who got me a cab.

Non-members can get in and if the fee is only 800 THB then it is one hell of a bargain.

Hmm ... I am not sure that you understood my remark about the prices correctly. I found it expensive, compared to other Bangkok bars.

THB 30,000 for 7 bottles of liquor and 7 barfines (as I remember) may look generous for members. But to go there as a non-member, pay THB 800.00 only for getting in there, and then getting charged for drinks, lady drinks while a girl is sitting with you not longer than 20 - 30 min. , I would be surprised if somebody left there as a guest without having paid less than THB 4,000 - without additional costs for the ladies services upstairs, or bar fines to take one out.

Thanks, Brian, but I have had street BJs back in the US for $10, so $6 in Thailand is really not such a bargain. I'm quite sure Thais regularly pay that, and occasionally get it for even 100 baht. After all, for a very large segment of the Thai working class, the daily wage is 200 baht or less.

No, I agree. Pegagus is not for cheap charlies... But compared to Europe it's a bargain.
