i am doing my best at trying to track and manage all the cebu contacts i am culling from filipinaheart.

a few days ago, on my first visit to cebu.

got a haircut at bruno's barbershop on basement 1 at ayalla's. very good piece of work for 120 pesos + tip. barber gave a 10 minute head and shoulder massage. probably the best cut i have ever had all things included, notwithstanding his insistent requests that i take his sister's and his cousins phone numbers.

I had planned my last 3 days on Mactan since an old gf was based there and she had promised me some additional action with a gorgeous looking 19 year old girl. Anyway I booked a room at the EGI Condo Hotel based in Maribago on Mactan. Felt a bit disappointed with the place when I arrived, an absolutely massive room with two large beds and balcony overlooking the sea but the place is really tired and run down. The EGI is like a self contained resort but it has obviously seen better days and it is in some ways designed with an art deco theme. I always think art deco aquires a tired and run down look easier than other building designs do and that these kind of buildings suffer more with lack of maintenance. Anyway the regular girl I was meeting for reasons I shall not go into here, did not materialise and I was left in what is a fairly remote location with nothing much to to do. Mactan is not as convenient for bars, clubs and Malls as Cebu City and you do feel kind of cut off here. It also amazes me what some of these resorts charge for rooms. anything from 5000 up to around 12,000 per night and this place is empty at the moment. I was at breakfast this morning and out of 7 people I counted in the restaurant, I was the only customer. Since I had already paid up front for the room I had no option but to remain there.

Anyway at around 11pm I headed off out to the main gates and stopped a taxi. We had a long chat about girls and he told me there are four main Casas on Mactan and that he would be happy to take me. Mortman thinks to himself that he (cab driver) is happy to take me since he will also be engineering a big fat commission for himself.

Anyway about a ten minute cab ride from the resort hotel we pull into a dirt track off the side of the road in total darkness and end up outside a large house with some outbuildings. The boss comes out and asks me to wait and after 5 minutes the girls are all paraded in a room for me to view. Total of about 7 girls all around 6 or 7 in looks and the oldest around 22. There is also some conversation taking place between the taxi driver and the boss, wouldn't it be great to speak Cebuano. I bet the taxi driver made around 500 from the deal plus of course the money he got from me for his fare. Well I guess beggars cannot be choosers and you have to take what options are available at the time. The most annoying thing for me is not so much being ripped off, it is being ripped off and the people doing the ripping off thinking I am too stupid to realise whats going on.

I pick one girl that I like, and ask the boss how much. I was quoted 2500 and I just laughed out loud and said no. You could see anxiety in his face as he tried to press home the deal with a new price of 2000. I told him I would be happy to pay 200 pesos cab fare and go to Jonquera and get a girl for 500 pesos. You could almost see the cab driver's jaw drop and he turned to me and said "how you know about Jonquera?" I just smiled and told him I was not prepared to be ripped off. I finally agreed to pay 1500 after some hard bargaining and with that headed back in the cab with my new girl back to the hotel.

Another thing I learnt from the cab driver is that Lapu Lapu on Mactan also has its own version of Jonquera, I cannot remember the exact name but according to the cab driver there are scores of women wandering the streets looking for clients in this particular area. Not really the sort of place I would want to go on a first visit especially under cover of darkness without at least one wing man to provide cover. It is also not the kind of place I would norm,ally takie a girl from, however curiosity value alone would get me along for a visit.

Anyway the girl that came back was well worth the money and she literally sucked for about 20 minutes non stop like a powerful vacuum cleaner, licking my balls like a ravenous dog. She then sat astride me and rode me for about 10 minutes but I was unable to last and exploded inside her. After a short cuddle we went and showered together and as I turned my back for a moment she started getting dressed. I had been hoping for at least another shot in the morning and any thought of tipping her went out the window. I actually said to her that I had a good tip for her but since she was leaving early she would get nothing. Maybe it was because I had only paid 1500 and this was my payback, but then I can't think of many Pinoys who would pay anything like that amount. Leaving early spoilt what was otherwise a memorable experience.

I do really dislike this resort and I would advise anyone thinking of spending a few nights on Mactan to avoid this place like the plague. They do not even have wifi here and you are at the mercy of the on site internet cafe, prices are reasonable but it is only open from 10am till 9pm. Not much good if you need to send an urgent email outside of these hours as I had to do today.

Incidentally I have just met a young lady on the short walk from reception to the net cafe. She is 19 and here working as a child minder for some local family here on holiday. Very dark skin and absolutely tiny, can't weigh more than 35 kilos tops. Have arranged to meet her at 6pm after work and I have a good feeing about this one....watch this space. I love the Philippines it is as easy as shooting rats in a barrel

Its nice to have info on P4P on Mactan but they have expensive expensive hotels, so its always good to hear about alternatives.

Not to belabor this thread, but the EGI did indeed look very run down when I visited last weekend for possible lease/purchase. Only a handful of units were for sale but I was not interested in any of them. The group is building some new adjacent units that might be completed soon and some perhaps already.

One of the better places I saw was the Coralpoint Beach and Yacht Club, Punta Engano, that was new and had places for 4, 000 php/night up to 7500 php. If you do not mind the location and the price, I rec unit 303 in this development. That is a fantastic unit with private rooftop terrace and great views.

Xman the link you posted is obviously the same resort although the photo of the room looks nicer than the reality I am experiencing. It may be that the privately owned condos are in much better condition than those rented out to visitors but I guess as I am only paying 3000 per night I shouldn't complain too much. I haven't any photos of the place, to be honest I would feel a bit sad wandering round here with a camera taking photos. On the upside the pool area is nice and clean and presentable and the restaurant and breakfast reasonable.
They have their own website if you do a google search on EGI Mactan but the photos on the site are a glossy and newer version of what it is like in reality

Mort, you are spot on about that photo being "better than reality"

I viewed 4 or 5 of the units and the very best was intact but very aged in appearance and gave you a mildly dilapidated impression. The worse ones appeared in disrepair and were in obvious need of maintenance prior to move in.

The older wing of the Diplomat (which I may have made borderline disparaging comments on) would be far preferable to some of these lousier EGI units.

My experience as well.

I looked at Condos last year on Mactan and in Cebu proper and it wasn't so much about the units themselves, it was more about the terms.

Plus, as stated already, being on Mactan is a bit away from it all. I found many other resort places willing to sell land and houses to foreigners elsewhere. Say Leyte and Tacloban areas.

I will have to check out the golf resorts near Cebu to further check it out, but that stuff is on the back burner now.

Would a withdrawal of 3,500 USD be a fairly painless experience in Cebu? It appears that my bank does not have an ATM in Cebu.
