I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned the young ladies that wait around what Phnom and the parks near the American Embassy. But that was some time ago so may need to look back almost 2 years. The main reason most of us avoid this place at night is that this is not the greatest area to be after sundown. Best to either visit with a few other mongers or take a reliable driver with you. Walking alone here at night is not on my recommended list of things to do. The going rate here 2 years ago (last time I visited) was $5-10 ST, the price depended on your negotiating skills and of course her looks and attitude.

Please note never to negotiate in $5 intervals. Because she declines $5, don't automatically settle for $10. I've often gotten some ok cuties for $6-7 after her saying no to $5.

Oh, since someone mentioned Sophies, I am one who missed that place. The ladies were never stunners there but it was the best suck for the buck. I've been visiting Mada twice, in 2008 and 2010, both times for 3 month. Believe me, I liked the lemurs, but the native inhabitants without any tail I liked the most. In 2008 I went east (Tamatave, St. Marie) , northwest (Nosy Be, Mahajunga) , middle (Antsirabe, Fianarantsoa) , and southwest (Belo-sur-Tsirbihina, Morondava, Tulear). Last year I went only north (Diego, Ramena, Ambilobe, Nosy Be (basically Hellville) , and Mahajunga). And of course always some time in Tana. I am a 'Glacier'-edict!

2008 I took that combi-flight St. Marie-Tana / Tana-Nosy Be (you manage two flight in one day, you pay only the more costly one. But there are not many possible combinations!) , and later I bought another flight from Morondava to Tulear. Each time it cost about 120€ (hey you guys in the US, you better get used to prices in €uro. So not really cheap, but good carriers they are. Don't worry about non existing security measurements at the small airports. Nobody ever tried to bomb AirMada. That year I actually visited 3 National Parks. 2 years later I couldn'd care less, all I saw were boobs and bumps, and that lovely color of them.

By reading through the last 20-30 pages of this thread I came along prices that made my hair stand up. Are you guys nuts? Yes, the first month in 2008 when I was staying in Tana (Anjary) , and was totally new to that business (and I mean totally new!) , picking my girls from 'Le Glacier' (or sometimes rather being picked, green as I was) , I payed once or twice 50. 000Ar for a night with unlimited shots (exept my personel limit). But still, while there are pretty Apsara type girls walking about, you have to be wary of saggy milk fed tities and the padded / push up bra types when hunting for C's in Cambodia. some thoughts on the last few days: boy, it has been quiet. i was at bunny's on tuesday, there were no customers and only a few girls. went back on thursday and the place was closed. oscar's pub was pretty quiet too. customers were greatly outnumbering girls, which is never a good sign. meeting house was also closed. dream bar seemed busy but i didn't go in. thank god today is the last day if the new year.

There is no conspiracy and most expats go to the same old bars.

I have taken up khmer studies again and when I am more fluent I want to start going to KTVs and suchlike.

I have a mate who speaks like a native and his reports on khmer venues are very encouraging.

Ther bar girls are really all alike and it is hard to find something diferent.

Yes and no to the second. For 5 bucks, you might get something near the Japanese bridge, but you'll get what you bargained for, that is to say not much. For ten bucks, you'll have better luck but you'll need some good negotiating skills and preferably not be too picky. As someone mentioned earlier, it's worth paying the extra five bucks to get something with a better chance of being decent.

Well know place (check out my recent prior posts) , ask any moto / tuk tuk, if they do not know it they are either new or lying.
