Short video of Nana plaza at day and at night.
https://youtu.be/_sfKT0B6wsw
It's much more lively than that.
It's a pity it can't show the people and the atmosphere so don't really get much idea what the place is like. People need to do a walking tour of it for themselves.

In the evening most bars open with lots of girls and nice atmosphere! Always a good night out at the plaza.
Tuesday (or was it Monday), I was about to head into Bacarra for a look to see if any talent at all, not highly modified. The doorman motioned me to buy a drink at the outside bar before entering. WTF? I never struck that before.
I was not sure what it indicated. Was it too full inside or too empty? Was the girl line up particularly down today or what? Perhaps there were no seats available inside so a scam to make you buy a wasted drink. No thanks. Maybe I would have been a waste of space (in the wrong bar).
Moved on to CH, which was packed (ground floor) on a day when I was expecting it to be quiet. Still managed to find a seat though. I buy more drinks than average customer and don't try to sit on one all night. My special waitress gets a drink or two as well.
I experienced the same thing early November for the first time. Then I thought it was because I was visiting with my GF in tow (she wanted to see the places I hang out when she is not around) and the doorman estimated I would not barfine anyone so he better extort us a few drinks to be on the safe side.
Now it rather seems that this is going to be a general policy. Well, I cannot really be bothered. Bacarra never was my top place to go to anyhow. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Now maybe some folks will get an idea of what it's like to be an Indian (or be treated like one) where you have to put up with this all the time and / or be denied admission all together. See you guys didn't like it too much and were put off huh? So, like I said, imagine having to deal with this kind of thing all the time at multiple clubs! No admission (if at all) until you pay some amount of money up front. It would take some of the fun out of mongering don't you think?
So all the AIDS or HIV positive people must be homosexuals or drug-users?
See what the WHO says about it:
* HIV continues to be a major global public health issue, having claimed more than 34 million lives so far. In 2014,1. 2 (980 0001.6 million) million people died from HIV-related causes globally.
There were approximately 36.9 (34.341. 4) million people living with HIV at the end of 2014 with 2. 0 (1. 92.2) million people becoming newly infected with HIV in 2014 globally.
Sub-Saharan Africa is the most affected region, with 25.8 (24.028. 7) million people living with HIV in 2014. Also sub-Saharan Africa accounts for almost 70% of the global total of new HIV infections.
* It is estimated that currently only 53% of people with HIV know their status.
* Between 2000 and 2015, new HIV infections have fallen by 35%, AIDS-related deaths have fallen by 24% . .).

The fact that AIDS / HIV in Thailand is (relatively) low is very much due to a strong campaign (in the past) in favor of condom use. It seems that for financial reasons this campaign is not well maintained now in Thailand, because the majority of the HIV / AIDS money already goes to medical costs for people with AIDS and HIV. That is a pity and a short-sighted policy as relenting on the "use a condom" campaign will only cause a rise in infections in the coming years.
So please, don't spread the false rumour that there is no such thing as heterosexual transmission of HIV! The risk may be low, but still it caught milions of people.
There is nothing in your quotes from WHO that refutes what I posted about it. Not one iota of it. I don't even see an ordinary and pertinent distinction between male-to-female and female-to-male transmission in those stats.
1. A woman contracting HIV vaginally from a male partner who himself contracted it via receptive anal sex, needle sharing or a tainted blood transfusion would be considered "heterosexual" transmission according to those quotes and stats as though it were no less difficult to contract it that way as a man contracting it vaginally or orally from a previously infected female. Which is utter nonsense according to every other more detailed statistical study and seems to me to be an intentional skewing of the facts (or, rather, ignoring them) and the overwhelming empirical evidence at hand for more than 30 years in order to fear monger.
2. Heterosexual transmission in Sub-Saharan Africa involves co-factors that are virtually non-existent in any other cultures (bizarre blood letting marital rituals, purposeful extreme drying of the vagina in order to "prove" the female is not sex crazed and therefore can be left unattended among other men, etc.).
3. AIDS / HIV transmission, especially heterosexual transmission, is also low in the Philippines without a single month of an effective pro-condom campaign over the past 35+ years.
So, please don't spread the false rumor that heterosexual HIV transmission, particularly from female-to-male via vaginal or oral sex, is rampant or an epidemic in Thailand. It would only serve as an unwarranted detriment to the thriving P4 P industry on which so many young Thai women depend to support their families.

However I can understand a little bit. If it happened to me in every bar, sure I would buy the upfront drink, if reasonably sure the bar was worth visiting.
It's a pity that Indian people have become tarnished with a bad image of not wanting to pay for more than a water to sit on for a very long time, and sometimes having powerful body odours. Clearly the stereotyping is annoying to those who are better and will not be a "waste of space" in the bar. Unfortunately the bars have learned from bad experiences too many times.
I hear stories (but from reliable source) of Indians coming into a Thai restaurant and ordering a plate of plain steamed rice and asking for a cup of water (for free). Then getting the rice, they ask for some of the satay sauce used for satay sticks to put on it, to make some flavour. Clearly the objective is to eat for an absolutely miniscule price. The staff hold these types in great contempt obviously, wasting space, taking up seats. Doesn't matter if the place has plenty of seats left over but sometimes not.
I don't know where the correct answer lies, however if an Indian or similar guys comes very well dressed, and acting classy, I don't think bars should be concerned, until it proves that they don't want to buy drinks, and then could be asked to leave.
I know there are Farangs that stink (apocrine gland bacteria) and are very stingy about buying drinks as well, it just seems that they are a lower percentage.
I would like to see all drunks excluded. It's drunks that cause the most problems in my opinion. I don't care what country they come from. I am really only interested in interacting with thai girls inside, certainly interactions with drunks are very unwanted. One drunk recently tried to grab my glasses out of my top pocket. Who knows what he was trying to do for fun. Drunks also crash into people regularly sometimes causing injury.
While I have Indian friends (and Japanese and Kenyan and almost every variation), some Thai girls have told me straight out they they don't like Indians. I don't know why. They seem to be prejudiced, so not evaluating each individual on his own merits.
I am prejudiced in that I don't want to fuck ladyboys, however met a couple nice to talk to today. I like one girl in Crazy House called Naen who looks rather like an Indian girl to me. However perhaps she does not look right to real Indian people.

I didn't know if it was some new policy, so I went a head and bought my drink before entering. It did rub me the wrong way a bit and set a weird vibe. After spending a few minutes in the club I decided to leave and head to Suzy Wong. Usually I would have been more inclined to sit back, relax, and enjoy a few girls (much more than one entry drink). Whatever.
I noticed the Japanese didn't have to line up but the farang did. I can see it rubbing people the wrong way but the bottom line for me is the girls inside and imo they are fantastic at Bacarra. I won't ban a club for this door policy just like I don't ban Goldentime in Germany for not letting in non-whites, except Asians.
Was it just the nights I went but it felt like 90% of the customers in Bacarra were Japanese?
It may be a prejudice but all these girls talk to each other about their customers and the general word on the street must not be too good. I have myself heard a couple of stories from a few girls I have been out with.
On one occasion I had met this girl who was in Pattaya for just 2 weeks when I met her. We went to a restaurant for dinner where the girl told me that her first BF from the previous week was an Indian man who also took her to a restaurant, ordered food for himself and fed his face without even asking the lady for a glass of water.
On another occasion one girl told me about 2 Indian men wanting to share her in the hotel room. Since it was a slow night she agreed (I wonder why? When they reached the hotel room there was 1 more guy waiting. So after getting literally gang-raped they gave her 200 B short of the agreed price and told her to leave.
Third story goes like this. A group of 4 Indians at a bar caused such an unruly scene that nearly all the other patrons walked out. I was among those walking out. I can imagine the bar must have suffered losses for the night.
Its these kind of stories that go around and create a bad name for the whole community. May not be true for all Indians, but when you hear one story more often it tends to become the general accepted truth. Sad but true.
Choice of customers is not discrimination. Reputations of groups have been well earned and rated.

A few hot girls but mostly too plastic, many so highly modified by operations that they look like ladyboys or aliens to me. Is that what "fantastic" means? Comparing with ladyboys maybe too kind. The ladyboys tend to be prettier. LOL Thai girls with ugly nose jobs are a dime a dozen and can be found almost everywhere these days, but I like places with a high proportion of naturals. Seems that Asians are much more accepting of the highly modified looks, and call girls out for a drink that are the very most ugly to my taste. On other hand Crazy House is much more to my taste but has a lot of Asian customers as well, probably dominating the Farangs.
Recent visit to Sharks suggested to me that it has gone downhill badly and well past its heyday. Baccara as busy as ever, in fact too crowded. Perhaps there are some nice girls but stage is too crowded to be able to really see them well.
Choice of customers is not discrimination. Reputations of groups have been well earned and rated.
You are right. That is not discrimination, its racism! Every group has its share of assholes. Some groups more than others under certain circumstances but that does not make the proposed the ban on Muslims to US also a palatable idea? Hate in the business of 'love' is something we can all live without.
