i don't know one happy story. i keep hearing about a "friend of a friend" that had it work out. my cousin married a once beautiful college educated filapina (similar) lives w/her & whole family he brought over and he swears he is happy. this dude is miserable. his wife got fat and he sleeps in the basement. the relationships that work are usually w/ some savvy and wealthy european that leaves her there and keeps everything on a rental basis. the minute you buy a house over there so she can "save face" she is in control. in very rare cases an upper class, a well educated pooying might marry an extremely handsome, farhang male equivalent and she gets farhangcized. you have to remember that we soul kiss and lick and their dudes don't. but family monetary demands and peer pressure almost always mess things up. they usually wait for the gringo (our laws totally favor the woman) to get overextended financially and to have their baby so they can be set for life. if one friend or family member comes over the relationship is over. they think their culture is at the center of the universe. i can't handle their mood swings. i know guys with dive shops and other businesses over there and their thai women are all extreme "nudnicks" (yiddish for nag). they are always testing you with ultimatums. one of my favorite passtimes is thowing them out of my hotel when i get an ultimatum. you have to remember that 90% of that country is made up sh*^ simple share cropper families, and the rest all think they are city slickers or working at posh resorts.

i know many guys that are happily married to thai women, some for more than 30 years. somehow they have managed the family thing. my gf doesn't like her family and couldn't care less about them, so her support for them is minimal. she thinks they are lazy thai "rednecks" from the sticks. (i can't wait for her to meet my family in kentucky.) my gf is pretty westernized when she needs to be and traditional when it comes to taking care of me and ensuring i am happy.

the ones with the most successful thai marriages are farangs who were married to fat, bitchy ball-busting western women, like i was.

It would be nice to see more posts on BKK action (especially street action) off the beaten track (that being lower Sukhumwit, Patpong & the usual massage places). I tried browsing the thread for a while, but not much comes up.

Few questions:
---
* Are Indian girls available anywhere in BKK? I had one in Chiang Mai a while back...
* Are there any decent Russians/Farang girls around (for less than 3k baht ST?). Hanging around Sukhumwit Soi 3, all I saw were ugly girls well over their prime (I suspect from the 'stans -- no blue eyes anywhere).
* Where's the Thai action? Regular Thai guys must be getting it somewhere, and cheap, I suspect (I don't count Poseidon in this class).

Some locations:

* There's quite a bit of street action off Yaowarat (Chinatown). Easiest way to get into the area is to take MRT (Subway) to Hualamphong (main railway station), cross the klong to the west, and then take a small street to the left.
* Focus of the action is Yaowarat Soi 14 (+ small alleys near Texas massage).
* Charoen Krung Rd (parallel to Yaowarat to the north) has some action as well
* Going north from Yaowarat on MitrPan Rd, you'll reach a traffic circle. There are many ugly streetwalkers in the area (all spoke roads from the circle). I was quoted 300 baht, but they were all rather bad looking.
* Have seen a few street girls (not bad looking) near Lumphini MRT, but was with GF so didn't investigate.

Some of this was posted before, but I'm a fan of summaries, and not a look-it-up purist -- most info on the board is fairly repetitive anyway.

Mapping: [url]www.moffle.com[/url] has a good map of BKK (search for Yaowarat / zoom in on the area). Google maps itself now has great BKK coverage, but street names are in Thai.

In Yaowarat Soi 14, there are 3 Chinese girls in red pants (seen them on 3 occasions). I got the chubby, 32 y.o. one with big breasts. She spoke neither Thai nor English so we negotiated by writing down the number -- she quoted 1000 baht at first, but settled for 700. Went to a dirty ST room in a sub-soi (near Texas massage?) for 150 baht. She was OK and very compliant -- quick shower (which I had an impression she didn't really want) + CBJ + fairly vigorous FS. Honestly, I didn't have the balls to ask for BBBJ with this one. During doggy-style sex, she gargled and threw a huge spit across the room (nasty). Very different than a Thai, but I did enjoy the sheer nastiness of it, along with the big white tits, vigorous shag and pretty feet (why do almost all Thai girls have awful feet?). If you really can't do both, they are less than two hours apart, then I suggest Pattaya.
I used to love Bangkok but the girls have become far more business minded than their "sisters" in Pattaya, the Bangkok Go-Go girls are now quoting and getting 2000 baht short time with long time not even an option in some cases. In Pattaya the girls are less likely to discuss the financial side of the "date" and most would be happy with 1000 baht long time, there are always exceptions though so buyer beware.

If your flight arrives at a reasonable time, the trip to Pattaya from the airport is only around 90 minutes drive from Soyouwannaboom airport. So, it really is only an hour each way further than Sukhumvit.

That being said, I prefer Bangkok to Pattaya, but I am certainly in the minority, and the lower prices are surely in Pattaya.

I am new to this forum but not to Thailand! I have made several hobbying trips here in the past, and always was able to find girls willing to fuck bareback! Agree with this one. I never met any of the families of my Thai g/f's. Couldn't care less and made this clear to GF's. Why bother sitting with family with a stupid smile pretending to be a nice chap.

Cultural gap is simply to big. And quite frankly I find nothing charming about rural Thai culture. Some of my ex's were true city girls, meaning family had moved to BKK a generation earlier. Also here I was not keen to meet mon and dad.

With an attitude like that you won't ever have the option of a "happy story." Guys that sucessfully marry Thai women, not to mention bargirls, don't usually sit around and talk about it too much to tourists, or post on sex sites. Think about it; where's the motivation or interest.

They both offer different things. As a resident I prefer Bangkok, as a tourist with three days (and not knowing any better) I would probably go to Pattaya. In five years of living in Thailand I went to Pattaya twice and that was one time too many.
