I agree that Jakarta is the pick over Bali if you're not interesting in wading through mobs of drunken yobbo tourists and being hassled on the beach to buy junk you don't want.

Many more options for "the hobby" in Jakarta and more like real Indonesia. You can go "bule" (Westerner) and stay in Blok M, big hotel discos etc, or you can go where the real Indonesians go in the north to Kota to the "point and fuck" places etc.

I am new at this. I had a couple experiences recently in both Thailand and Indonesia and I would like to share. Each trip I used this site as my main source for info so now its time to give back. As I am planning a trip again in August, it was time to subscribe as well. It’s the least I can do. I just wrote this one tonight. It is a bit long-winded and short on the ‘goodies,’ but I had to get it out before I could move on to the more recent. I hope you enjoy. EddieX

Bali and 1st time

(2003)

I had moved to tropical Australia to attend university. I lived in residence while studying. I met a young guy from Portugal who was studying there because his father worked in Jakarta. He asked me I wanted to join him on the first semester break to visit his dad, maybe stopping in Bali on the way. I just ended a 7-year relationship and at 35, left Canada and started uni where everybody seemed under 25. Fortunately, I regained my own youth quickly and adapted nicely. Anyway, the idea of Bali and Indonesia sounded exotic and enticing. As a teenager my uncle used tell me stories of living on the beach in Bali, Thailand or the Philippines, paying some young, nubile, beauty a pittance, "and she even did the dishes." I saw one picture of this hot young Filipino, standing in front a beach hut, wearing a negligee. Ahhh, the dreams of that girl.

Now it was finally my turn. Only a year earlier I would have been thinking of the romantic things to do as a couple. Now I'm thinking I am going to be spending my time with LBFMs, as I soon found out the little tanned hotties that I had been dreaming about, are called. So I utilized my new research skills and started making plans. Looking back, I am sure I had used this site extensively, not aware of ISG until planning a trip to Bangkok last year (another story). It wasn't even midnight when we wandered into some small bar off the street to have a break before the next club. Actually, only I needed the break. Mine was about 26, looking sexy while my friend's was a cute little thing that couldn't have been 21. Holy shit, is this really happening? The dream became a reality as we arrived back at our bungalow. Oh my God! That was the most amazing experience for a first time. To be honest, I wasn't even sure I was getting laid in the 2 days in Bali. Jakarta is where I thought the action would begin and where I was heading the next day.

Will be there in a month or so. From time to time I like to play in places other than mainstream bule, as I have the language. Trying to work out where the "point and fuck" places are. Is that Jalan Pangeran? Or are you referring to Travel Hotel, as written up in many posts here? Does anyone know anything about Jalan Pangeran? I found references to it in Indonesian-language blogs, but from some three years ago.

Jl Pangeran, Hotel Travel, 1001, the places near the corner of Hayam Wuruk and Mangga Besar, TC and places nearby, Daan Mogot....there are more places than you can possibly visit...and then some more still...

It is Jalan Pangeran Jayakarta. In the Jakarta thread it is usually referred to as PangJay. Do a search!
