I'm here in Thailand and i really don't know what all the hype's about. The whole so-called "Thai experience" has so far been very disappointing.

Yeah but I think you somewhat miss the point. The boards are largely frequented by guys planning a trip to that destination or looking back in fondness at a recent trip (and planning the next).
