I didn't like it for precisely that reason, let me add more detail for other mongers sake. Both times I went there, there were 4 and 6 locals there, probably 40's and 50's, getting hammered in the lobby area. If you like this kind of environment pre-fucking the pros, then this place is for you. The reality is there is no formula on how much better speaking the language will make your experience.
All depends on you.
