Current Situation With The "Carrot Law"
Don't know if anyone is still curious about the affects of the new law on 'business', but I just returned from an evening of scouting at Club Habanos and El Veneto. I spoke with several chicas, both Columbian and Panamanian, as well as some waiters and taxi drivers. All complained bitterly about the impact on their business and comfirmed EVERY bar must now close at 2 AM. Perhaps it was because it was a Monday night, but Habanos only had about 20-25 chicas between 10 PM and midnite. No 10's and only a couple of 9's. It may not be fair for me to say this but I've been to this famous 'freelancers' bar several times, most recently last May, and it appears the quality is definitely declining. But again, I'm hoping it was just because of the 'Monday Blues'.
El Veneto was packed with chicas of widely varying quality, with relatively few hombres. But the wait staff confirmed most ladies don't hang around after the bars close at 2AM. When I asked where they might go and congregate after that, one mesero just said, 'la casa! '. Bad news for those of us who like to prowl late into the nite.
I did hear La Boca Torena in Casco Viejo now opens at noon and stays open until the new 'witching hour.' No longer the 24 hours a day joint it was once so renowned for. I personally would not recommend any late nite forays here unless you ride with your posse or have twisted blue steel for cajones. During the day is OK, however.
I did have a try at a new place (for me) called El Capri on Rio Abajo. $41 for 15 min, and the place is much cleaner and newer than Gruta Azul or La Gloria with more and younger chicas. Don't believe I've seen it reviewed here, at least recently, and it's worth a try for the more economically minded monger. BTW, don't think the new law is causing prices to drop. If anything, it's now more of a seller's market than anything, or at least the ladies see it that way. I was quoted some really ridiculous prices everywhere and there was damn little room for negotiation.
Sorry to be the bearer of fairly grim tidings, but it's the new reality. Our kind of fun can still be had, of course, and there will be more reports later as I hop all over the country for the next few days.
Las vegas suites chica fee
Just got in. Las Vegas Suites policy "Extra Person charge $25. 00 per night." Different from my last visit. Rooms 60 / night on internet.
Hard to get by security with 2 girls.
I'll have to try another place.
Veneto seemed quite active last night, even for a while after alcohol cutoff.
Carnivale PC Next weekend
Does anyone have experiance going to Panama city during Carnivale? I think it begins next weekend. Curious how the action will be.
