Ilha Grande
Ilha Grande outside Rio makes a very nice weekend excursion.
Take a bus or a van from the rodoviaria in Rio to Mangaratiba or Angra dos Reis. Continue with boat to Vila do Abrćo, the main village on Ilha Grande. Lots of nice pousadas in the village.
Beaches: 92 beautiful beaches to choose from, reachable by boat or by foot.
Trekking: Don't miss trekking to Pico do Papagaio, 990 m altitude. Bring water, a girl and condoms. It's a marvellous experience having sex on the top with the astonishing view.
Night-life: Everything happens in the center. Bars and restaurants (with excellent fish-dishes).
GP action: Very hard to find.
Non-pro action: Normally I always find the local girls to be the easiest, but on Ilha Grande I rather go for the tourist girls. Expect some work to get laid, or just bring a girl from Rio.

Ilha Grande
Sperto:
Which Pousada do you recommend on Ilha Grande? And how much? I wanted to go during my last trip in Feb, but it was constantly raining. Hopefully, the weather will be better my next trip.
thanks in advance

There are so many nice options on Pousadas. I ended up on Pousada das Borbas, 5 minutes walk from the port. R$ 130/double room. Beautiful rooms and fantastic garden. Might need to sneak in any girl you pick up.

Ribierao Preto, SP
Back in RP for a night. Called Mel and she arrived in no time. Usual arrangement of R$100 for two shots on goal or 1 hour. Mel was terrific as usual. Mel and older sister Ellis are not talking to each other an me being me. I asked how Ellis was doing and set Mel off on a tirade that I had not been calling her in favor of Ellis. Managed to settle things down and away we went. Will repeat with both Mel and Ellis and keep my mouth shut about the other.

A Little Info Please
Anyone have any knowledge of the area of Ilha do Governador. Met a girl online from there. Was wondering if it doesn't work out, what are my options in the area. All advice will be welcomed.

You've been to Rio? If so you propably have been to Ilha do Governador, or at least very close by. I'm speaking of Galećo International Airport.
Ilha do Governador is in Rio.

I never realize that. When you see it on a map, it looks like a completely different area. What are your experiences in this particular area, near GIG? Is it just one big favela. It looks kinda nasty on the ride from the airport.

I've no idea, but judging by a Google Map it seems like there are a dozen favelas on Ilha do Governador or close by.

Ilha do Governador is not a complete favela. Anyway its not towards Rio de Janeiro, but other direction. When you leave airport you won't even see Ilha.
Ilha is normal district in Rio, there are good areas and favelas.

Has Sperto, or anyone else, been to Palmas, Tocantins? I notice it's #24 out of 27 state capitals on Sperto's list. I'm thinking of a place to live, rather than a holiday or purely for mongering. Any info on the cost of living? And facilities, like gyms, super markets, ADSL, etc.
Thanks,

Why on earth would you choose to live in Palmas?
This capital was founded 18 years ago. It's has a population of more or less 200'000. The city felt very deserted and empty.
You propably find all the facilities you want in the outskirts of the town.
I've made a short report on Palmas.

Thanks, Sperto, for your reply, and the direction to your report.
Why go to Palmas? I had never heard of it until I happened to see the photo of Sidy on latinamericancupid.com. Choose man seeking woman, 28-30 years old, in Brazil, her photo is probably on the second page to come up. Her photo just reached out to me. The best, as it turns out, of four that she has posted, if you register for the free service. But, a nice looking little woman. Nothing to do, I scrolled through 1000 photos of women, and hers was the only one that grabbed me. I indicated interest, but as she's looking for a man no older than 45, and I'm 58, she didn't indicate back.
I don't know about paying 100BR for 30 minutes of sex, when it can be 1/3 of that or less in Colombia. I don't care if a woman has sparks flying out her ass, what can she do that's so much better for the extra money? I noted on your rating of Brazilian state capitals that Palmas was a 4 for p4p and a 3 for non pros. Not exactly dismal
I know that Brazilians are the best for wild, uninhibited sex, and attractive, but Colombianas are good looking too, and more of a GFE. I don't need to be swinging from the chandelier at my age.
I personally don't like large, bustling cities. I don't care about bars, clubs, discos and a lot of noise. Having looked at it, I kind of like the idea of orderly, planned streets and avenues and everything comparatively new. I'm a little put off by the fact there's very little wind and 76% humidity. Being close to the hydroelectric dam, perhaps aircon won't be so expensive.
I'm actually more interested in living somewhere with a little bit of altitude so it's cool, but not cold, like the coffee growing region of Colombia. I've kinda zeroed in on Armenia, Colombia.
What did you find about the cost of living in Palmas, renting a house or apartment, the availability of ADSL, quality of fruits, vegetables and salmon in the supermarkets, and gyms?
Thanks again, KT

Saquarema
Any action there?
I doubt that.
My impression was that Saquarema was just a small quiet city which main attraction was the huge waves.
